This official #ymaa #yangtaichi form was learned by #dryangjwingming as a teenager in #taiwan with Grandmaster Kao, Tao (高濤) whose teacher was Yue, Huanzhi (樂奐之), an indoor disciple of Yang, Chengfu (楊澄甫). This form has martial applications intact and was preserved in its "old" sequence, slightly different than the popularized #yangfamily form. #yangchengfu and #yangbanhou taught a full curriculum of #taijiquan with martial aspects, pushing hands, weapons and sparring, but these were hidden, not taught openly, during Japanese occupation and then continued through early communist days. Only after the Chinese cultural revolution ended in the 1970s did these arts slowly get traced back to their original full fighting potential and depth.

Dr. Yangs books and videos changed my life. He made qigong taijiquan and other esoteric topics more accessible to this Cynical and Jaded Western mind of mine. I find some peace in just reading. The practice has heloed my physical health and help to calm stress and my temper. I'm not deep into the martial aspects. Learning C.M.A. esp I.C.M.A. from books and vidoes doesn't work. But meditation and qiging practice has done me a great good. Thanks Dr. Yang, Y.M.A.A. and Y.M.A.A. publishing. I am truly greatful.

I’ve been aware of Dr. Yang for many years (have several of his books on my library shelves). He is definitely “old school” hard core and authentic to a certain tradition that one of my teachers calls “smart hands”. Thanks for posting this video! And I love the music and wish there was a credit as to the master who’s playing it!

Beautiful and masterly. Looks to me more like Qi gong than Tai chi. About authentic and origin, there's simply too many contradicting claims to take any of this seriously anymore. When I compare this to the oldest available recordings of Yang style Tai Chi, it's quite different. Should not matter, as long as it's good and Dr. Yang surely is one of the very best.

The more years add on to my practice of Tai Chi, I understand why Yang Ming Wing performs the form as he does. Coming from the Tung Family, the form is presented in a fundemental and basic way. As the years and experience add on, there is space where the hidden parts are found and expressed to the practicioner's individual comprehension of Tai Chi Chaun, the adherence to its truths, and their personal style.

It is more than just inhale n exhale the way this vid presented. What about the body mechanics principle of action n reaction, push n pull in tandem, etc. I dont see in here. I lost interest after 10 movements.. One man's meat is another man's poison. He just showed slow MO dance sequence. I would rather watch chen style in action. Magnetic.

Why is that supposed student that Yang Chenfu (樂 奂 之) also does not exist in the genealogical tree of the Yang family since Yang Lu Chan? Is it all a commercial tinge lie? This form has no synchrony, nor does it comply with the basic principles of authentic Yang tai chi, in the movements there is a total lack of coordination, call it tai chi, it will be your personal style, but it is not Yang. From my point of view you should really practice or learn Yang tai chi with a member of the Yang family. There was a Taiwanese "teacher" named Su Yu Chan, who also "sold" a tai chi yang, but like you, his form was also different, it didn't even resemble your personal style, but he said it was traditional yang ..

You are right but do not argue with fan club of Yang jwing ming, you lost your time. If you take time in research sur Internet it is possible to find old testimonies by true students of Yang Chen Fu. And you will see that many "masters" who claim to have be indoor disciples him (Chen Man Ching by exemple) arranges the story to show off. As you say Yang Jwing do not respect almost all tai chi yang principes: Many parts of his body move in independant way, he come up and down in every step and always move the heel of the leg back in extension to artificially lengthen the postures, and the worse, his elbows and shoulder are not at all relaxed. And think a litlle: how a man who lead international organisation travel in many country for teach and write so much books can have time for practice? Like Mantak Chia and others who can read old manuals in chinese, they use this kwnoledge for to play the great master, with great success!
