In the episode where the table is levitated, why is the table not shown in its entirety, only the table legs are shown
I still have and love this dvd that I bought, but sadly I didn't figure out how to practice it in my small apartment...
The simplicity of a one breath sequence breaks the loop of worry and returns your autonomic system to restart..love your work Dr. Jahnke.
Does she have her own channel on KZread?
I learned this form in 1998, I love practicing it. It reminds of those precious years.
If you feel you may need to defend yourself from an attacker , you need to move.
👍 👌 🙏 ❤
what beautiful performance, a lifetime of mastery being put into vision.
Very Good .he is expressing himself authentically and so the chi will flow.
Lo😊😊😊😊😊

That 3:07 thing about doing only one move are seen in Combat oriented Xing Yi training for armed forces(sometimes called coiling in) as well as in Wing Tsun where it is called sliding in. Interesting.
only if there is no resistance from your opponent, if there is, it will be a completely different ball game.
Yes, this is an instructional video in order to learn various techniques within Yang-style Taijiquan. After these initial lessons, students enter sparring classes and repeatedly drill techniques until they get a real-time feel for them.
Actually some resistance can actually cause damage to attacker depending on the lock or counter. Essentially, the attacker hurts themselves by the act of resisting…
@@Tom-et2cdthat is some movie stuff you got there, Im imagining steven seagul and his moves against 20 odd men in a bar.
Why such extreme hypothetical? Better yet, don’t be at bar so you don’t have to fight 20 men.
Tai Chi is good to keep people healthy but to justify is as a combat tool is quite wrong primarily because it assume that the opponent is weak and that it only have one striking hand.
Tai Chi from Shaolin ?
Many of the movements we call Taijiquan today have their origins at Shaolin, long before Chen village and Wudang.

Who ever edited this video is hilarious and definitely understands how to keep the viewer’s attention. I am hooked.
Hey thanks. I thought it was funny. I did NOT expect it to be our #1 preview trailer of all time with millions of views.
Most of the DVD is a group of students doing first-take demonstrations of the exercises. Their stances look too long and they use a lot of strength and speed, and overwork themselves. You get a headache from the constant clashing of their swords. It’s hard to find resources like this, so I appreciate having the material for reference.
Yes, the purpose of the video is to capture a Sword Fundamentals class with Dr Yang, so the viewer can follow along and learn. Most of us don't have a sword master in our community, or even within 100 miles.
@@Ymaa_Publication_Center I’m coming at it from a Tai Chi perspective so to me the versions on the Classical Tai Chi Sword DVD are a better fit for me. This Fundamentals is just hard for me to watch, but Dr Yang’s remarks and the delineation of basic techniques and basic exercises has proven to be useful for research and cross-reference.
@@craig528 Yes, this is like a long series of basic sword techniques, mainly from an external perspective. The same moves within Taiji Sword are more pleasant and graceful for sure...And quieter than Kung Fu class.
I'm sorry, Doctor Yang..
Just started Kendo great fun
I like swords ❤
Keep in mind that the average person thinks BJJ is the best for self defence. However the ground is the worst place to be if you're attacked, especially if there are multiple attackers and or weapons. I learned enough BJJ so I could defend and get back to standing
Great training
Nice!
Me encanta gracias 😊😊😊😊
Please what are the six healing sounds equivalent in Hertz? Thank you
We do not have that information. If you determine it, please share here.
Actually YMAA did email me back promptly. The six healing sounds are not related to the Hertz healing frequencies but are complimentary. The Hertz frequencies are based on Solfeggio's work using the Pythagorean theorem. 432Hz is the natural frequency of the planet, now most often referred to as the Shuman frequency. Examples of the Shuman frequency is chanting AUM and Gregorian Chant for the six healing Hertz frequencies. Kristin from YMAA did email me a couple of links for Hertz-based healing, emotional detox, and sleep. Blessings to all. Now back to Shaolin Flying Crane!
Spent 3 yrs studying Tai Chi but had to stop after college and work. It is very effective and the instructor could very effortlessly best any movement even tho he was 10 inches and 70 lbs lighter than me. Amazing.
👌👌❤
Hello friend.
Very cool
Be like water.
Been looking for a school / place to Learn and have not found one yet . Especially where I live .
Tai chi cannot be used for self defence,I have witnessed Tai chi masters getting beat by MMA fighters in less than 10seconds. Tai chi is good for health only
When her back is to you, you cant see where her hands and arms are doing, I hope in her video teachings its not like this.
This is a preview trailer with artful view of her performance. The instructional video has a whole body shot continuously front and back and step by step instruction.
@@Ymaa_Publication_Center Great, I bought
Excellent
陈氏太极拳分老架一路(74式),二路(41式),和新架一路(83式),二路(71式)。二路拳又可称为炮捶。陈氏太极拳还有竞赛套路56式,和新规定套路32式。其它打的人较少。
Tai Chi Rouli Ball improves bone health in perimenopausal women (Journal of Clinical Densitometry, May 2024)
Twenty years ago I studied under a real choy lay fut sifu.. seeing this video makes me hungry for this level of instruction again. I tried a krav maga class recently; what an absolute joke. A first year tai chi student could wipe the floor with any krav maga practitioner.
Commercials?
PREVIEW trailer for video for sale. We are a publishing company.
I bought this video. Where can I get part 2?

I remember my kung fu teachers going to his seminars in Louisville. They would come back with all kids of stuff especially chin na 😢😅
I used to practice Silat and Escrima. I am one of the few practitioners of Double Tai Chi Sword! I use sticks instead of blades. I used to have a Dragon Style that looks a lot like Wu/Hao style Tai Chi. We got it with all types of weapons yo.
I find it odd that the execution and techniques for Original Koryeo in this video are actually slightly different than what is published in the accompanying textbook. At this point, I've seen about four major variations of this form, and now three sub-variants of this "Richard Chun" version!
A lot of Tai Chi Chuan teach the health aspects of the art. Dr Yang teaches the martial aspects of Tai Chi Chuan.
