Not really. Labels do this ALL the time. Labels "gift" their artists and when theyre not hot no more they take it all back

All of the Death Row artists with the exception of Pac, Dre & Snoop (not that i am saying that Pac, Dre & Snoop were cheated) were all overly paid.
