Mel was universally loved in Australia after Gallipoli and Mad Max. Then he moved to Hollywood and "something" very significant happened to him. He was totally different, manic in his roles onscreen. He was a totally different person. He went to the Zoo and became one of the animals. Hollywood is a bizarre place, full of deceit, liars, sycophants and deviants. They can love you one day, and despise you the next, depending on which way the wind blows. Everyone's your friend when you're "It", and drop you like a hot rock when you're not. Matthew McConaughey talks about this in some interviews too. You can't trust anyone, and yet you have to trust people. It's a fucking bizarre world. Never knowing who's on your side, or just trying to grift off you. It would send anyone mad, and does.

Robert Downey Jr. said it best: "[If you are without sin] you picked the wrong f***ing industry!" Whatever Mel Gibson's "sins" are, they are clearly kid stuff compared to countless other Hollywood celebrities, and I never understood the hatred for the man. Not only is he one of the greatest actors of his generation, he's one of the greatest directors, too, and even if he was a racist asshole -- which I don't believe he is -- I would still support him as a filmmaker. I mean, isn't it normal anyhow for artists to be a little bit crazy? Caravaggio literally murdered a man; should we burn all his paintings now? If you truly can't separate art from artist, then you're simply going to miss out on some amazing masterpieces. A few of which have attached to them the name Mel Gibson.

@@aries6776 Here's some "uncomfortable TRUTHS" for you - Hitler was a Jew, as were MANY of his top men (you can find the list online), AND his/ their FUNDERS, in the land of Swiss cheese, and the Big Apple. And, that is not only by HIler's cousin, who spoke out after Hitler's supposed suicide (it was his body double, confirmed by medical and dental records. Hitler, Eva Braun, and their dog apparently escaped to Argentina), but also by JEWISH researchers/ TRUTH-tellers, like Rabbi Marvin Antelman, in his "To Eliminate the Opiate", especially Vol. 2, p. 207, as well as OTHER Jews, AND confirmed to me in person by 2-3 male Jews - ONE of whom gave me the name of HItler's maternal grandmother - Schicklegruber. Jewishness is determined by the FEMALE line, so Putin, Trudeau, Trump, and most world leaders are ... Jews - just as they wrote would happen. In addition to this, research who was overwhelmingly REALLY behind the Russ. Rev. and the HOLODOMOR - the deliberate, orchestrated, FORCED starvation of 10s of millions in Russ & Ukr. Together, these two "things" exterminated 148 freaking MILLION primarily Christian Slavic and GERMANIC peoples, and clobbered the advanced civilizations that were there. Gee, think that THAT "might" have affected public sentiment any? Start with the EXCELLENT documentary "IN THE SHADOW OF HERMES". If you are REALLY seeking TRUTH, also search out "THE PROTOCOLS OF THE LEARNED ELDERS OF ZION", apparently commissioned by the last Russian tsar - and look what happened shortly after, to him and his whole family. Find it on the "EducateYourself" website. BTW, events in Russ./ Ukr. were confirmed to me in person by a former neighbor of Russ. & Ukr descent - the TRUTH is passed down in their families. Also, Putin referred to the same thing, in a vid in the fall of 2021, where he warned the West not to "trust them", due to the great harm they'd caused upon Russ. Sanctions were declared IMMEDIATELY, and war soon after. BTW, Ukr is apparently a Nazi ("The National Alliance of _+ion+ist Interests") stronghold, so THAT is who the West is sending all of the money and warfare equipment to... Then, there is *"The Letter from Baruch Levy to Karl Marx", in the June 1, 1928 edition of "LA REVUE DE PARIS"/ "THE PARIS REVIEW", p. 574, English translation online*. It is important for all peoples of the world to know of this, as can be VERIFIED by merely observing the name and face of EVERYONE in positions of authority, everywhere, and in EVERY field, all out of proportion to population percentages. Research who owns 95%+ of ALL media. Research the bankster industry, and find out how they have used the US/ NATO and the UN, to "do their dirty-work". For example, there are only three countries in the world WITHOUT/ who do NOT have a private, Jewish "central gov't bank" - Iran, North Korea, and Cuba. There USED to be MORE countries on that "do NOT have" list - Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Sudan, etc. Getting the picture, yet? (And earlier, that uber-famous ocean liner that hit an iceberg and sank, killing 1300+? The OPPonents to the US Fed were ON that ship in first class, whilst the PROponents such as JP Morgan and others, "just happened" to "miss that once-a-month sailing" - what luck for them. So, first class "had to die", to allow the US Fed. to be forced-through soon after - a private Jewish bank, who get to print their empty paper fiat currency, that is created out of thin air and placed on the books, and LOANED to our gov'ts and ourselves - empty currency, that must be repaid with REAL, TANGIBLE assets, such as gold, silver, other natural resources, land, and our very REAL labor, PLUS with USURY - extremely-high INTEREST - that non-Js are charged on borrowed money, but Js allegedly are NOT (and you wondered how they all got so rich). "Funny' how that worked out so well for the Jewish banksters, huh? There is LOTS of info - TRUTH, to be found, IF you have the INTEREST and the COURAGE to seek it. However, you will be reviled by all who learn of your research, under the intentionally-created mind-control, and villified under their totally and carefully-indoctrinated self-censure/ other censureship AND censorship of you, just like Mel was. After all, they CREATED such mind-control, as per one of their own (ON that list), Nazi Goebbels: "Make a lie. Make it big. Tell it with conviction. Repeat it frequently, and the people will believe anything." (And, in the face of RELENTLESS, highly-negatively emotive programming/ reminders, we have.) I literally had to force myself to swallow down bile, and choose to either commit fully to investigating and seeking TRUTH on that "conspiracy" -- as I had done with all of the others that I'd done deep, "due diligence" research on (and finding out that ALL but one "conspiracy" that I studied were all proven to be True, IMP, and so are "conspiraTRUTHS"), or to go back to sleep and STFU, my programmed resistance was so bad (and that was using ONLY Jewish researchers' material - there ARE Truth-tellers speaking out in their group). My 50+ year dedicated spiritual path - to whom I always thought was the same God, says to "Seek Truth - About Everything, and Everyone", so I did/ do. NO ONE and certainly NO GROUP, should be exempt from examination of intents and actions, in perpetuity. (BTW, Learn also of the Harry Potter "invisibility cloak", and think on how that concept applies to what happened in WW2 - AFTER what happened in Russ./ Ukr. Then, investigate the cessation of the practice of putting a public figure's religion by initial in brackets, after his/ her name, AND the formation of a watch-group who had special laws passed to protect ONLY that group from all examination, around the same time. Then, put ALL of this together, and see if it doesn't become very CLEAR...) Or don't, and keep drinking the kool-aide. Your life will go much smoother this way, but you will NOT be able to say that you 'CHOSE TRUTH", when you go through your life-review, after death/ meeting your maker... Voltaire: (restated) "To know who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize." And (Author Unknown): "Those who are afraid of ugly Truth, are afraid of the TRUTH, NOT the ugliness." IF you DO this deep research, you will maybe just find, maybe, that Mel spoke Truth, after all...

RDJ is a person who believes in reciprocity and it is touching. I would ask Mr. Downey to get Mel in front of a camera and interview him about his opinion of “the Jews”, which, if I’m not mistaken, Mr. Downey is one of himself, in part. Did Mel stop hating Jews, or did he simply stop getting drunk in public and exposing his bigotry for all to see? Is Mel a repentant ex-hate-monger now who educates his peers and acolytes about the horrors of all forms of bigotry and blood libel, or do the MANY hateful bigots in this comment thread represent his “faith” that we hear only whispers about? Mel has been RUMORED to have spoken out against the apology made to “the Jews” by the Pope (JP2, I think) about the catholic church’s betrayal of humanity in their collusion with the Nazis. Mel has made a few WEAK apologies that sounded more like excuses for his boorish behavior, but has he shown a true contrite heart, using the very controversy he created to tell those who might admire his bigotry that the hatred of Jews or any other people is EVIL and WRONG and most certainly NOT CHRIST-LIKE? Whatever hate the bigots in this thread want to throw on me is just proof that they are trash. I am talking about TRUTH here. If Mel meant what he said, then he’s a LIAR in apologizing for it. It seems to me, if he meant what he said, he’s a bad person unless he’s truly changed. If he’s truly changed, then he ought to be DEEPLY ashamed of his hurtful words and ought to be making a HERCULEAN effort to make amends, not just to keep moving his career forward. If he knows how hurtful his words were, he OWES it to himself to balance the scales and speak out against hate. I’d love to see him tell Americans to stop hating Jews and Arabs alike, which they do, in embarrassing numbers. Free Palestine! Free Israel from fascism!

🔰THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD " "the Salvation of the last day that Christ brought in the second and last incarnation of the His new and holy name" (Do you really know now why you believe in Me? Do you really know your duty? Do you really know My testimony? For those who know all these, they are more than thorns in My side and in My home, they are only stumbling blocks. And for those who have no testimony, My wrath against them is endless, and the rod will never turn away from them. On that day, their punishment will be more painful than that of foolish women. I am now only doing the duty that I must perform; I will bind all the wheat in the sheaf, along with the tares. This is now My work. The tares will be beaten during My threshing, then the grains of wheat will be gathered into the barn, and the tares that have been beaten will be thrown into the fire to be burned to dust. My task now is simply to bind all people in bonds, that is, to conquer them completely. What I ask now is your loyalty and obedience, your love and testimony now. Even if you do not know at this time what testimony is or what love is, you must bring Me your all, and give Me the only treasure you have: your loyalty and obedience. You must know, that the proof of My defeat of Satan lies within the loyalty and obedience of man, as well as the proof of My complete conquest of man. The duty of your faith in Me is to testify for Me, be faithful to Me and no one else, and be obedient to the end. So I advise you to be wise and not treat your life or the importance of your existence as worthless sand. You must know the significance of your experience in My work, and furthermore, the significance of your faith in Me. In fact, I have come to bring this age to an end. Therefore, I say to you as before: You must give your life to My work, and moreover, you must devote yourself to My glory. In addition, your testimony for Me is what I have long awaited, and I desire more for you to spread My gospel. You must understand what is in My heart.) Almighty God said Do you REALLY know NOW WHY you BELIEVE in Me? Do you KNOW the TRUE PURPOSE and MEANING of My WORK? Do you REALLY KNOW your ROLE? Do you REALLY KNOW My TESTIMONY? IF you BELIEVE only in Me, but NOT in My GLORY or do NOT SEE My TESTIMONY in you, I have REJECTED YOU long ago then. FOR those WHO KNOW all THIS, they are MORE than THORNS in My SIDE and in My HOUSE, they are ONLY STUMBLING blocks. They are mere weeds that must be completely swept out of My work, with no partial duty and no weight whatsoever; I have hated them for a long time. And for those WHO have NO TESTIMONY, My WRATH AGAINST them is ENDLESS, and the ROD will NEVER TURN AWAY from them. 🛑 I have left them in the hands of the wicked for a long time, and they do not have any blessing from Me. 🛑 My TASK NOW is SIMPLY to BIND all people in bonds, that is, to CONQUER them COMPLETELY. Then I will BEGIN to KNOCK to REVEAL the END of all people. So you must KNOW HOW to SATISFY Me NOW and HOW you must SET your FAITH in Me on the RIGHT PATH. What I ask NOW is your LOVE and TESTIMONY NOW. Even if you do NOT KNOW at this TIME what TESTIMONY is or what LOVE is, you must BRING Me YOUR ALL, and GIVE Me the ONLY TREASURE YOU HAVE: your LOYALTY and OBEDIENCE. 🙏🌷 You MUST KNOW, that the EVIDENCE of My DEFEATING SATAN lies within the loyalty and obedience of man, as well as the evidence of My COMPLETE conquest of man. 🙏🙏 The DUTY of your FAITH in Me is to testify for Me, be FAITHFUL to Me and NO ONE ELSE, and be OBEDIENT to the END. 🌷🙏 Before I begin the next step of My work, how will you witness for Me? How will you be faithful and obedient to Me? Do you devote all your devotion to your duties or do you just give up? Would you rather submit to My every arrangement (be it death or destruction) or run away in the middle to avoid My chastisement? I will chastise you to bear witness to Me, and to be faithful and obedient to Me. Likewise, the chastisement of the present is to expose the next step of My work and to allow the work to move forward unimpeded. So I advise you to be wise and not treat your life or the importance of your existence as worthless sand. 🙏 Do you know exactly what My coming work is? Do you know how I will work in the coming days and how My work will be revealed? You must KNOW the SIGNIFICANCE of your EXPERIENCE in My WORK, and furthermore, the SIGNIFICANCE of your FAITH in Me. I have done many things; how do you think I'll give up in the middle? I have done such a vast work; how can I destroy it? INDEED, I HAVE COME TO BRING THIS TIME TO AN END. 🛑 This is the TRUTH, but more than that, you must KNOW that I will start a NEW AGE, to start a NEW WORK, and, ABOVE ALL, to SPREAD the GOSPEL of the KINGDOM. 🙏 So you MUST KNOW that the WORK NOW is to START an AGE only, and to LAY the FOUNDATION for the SPREAD of the GOSPEL and BRINGING INTO THE TIME OF ENDING IN THE FUTURE. 🙏 My work is not as ordinary as you imagine, nor is it as insignificant and meaningless as you may believe. Therefore, I say to you as before: You MUST GIVE YOUR LIFE to My WORK, and moreover, you must devote YOURSELF to My GLORY. 🌷🙏 In addition, your TESTIMONY for Me is what I have WAITED for LONGER, and I DESIRE even MORE for you to SPREAD My GOSPEL. With Gibson, I have seen controversy, struggle, bits of the process and I have seen him say things that actually mean something (for better or worse is more or less irrelevant). Many actors only reveal a projected image that's completely manufactured, and only the dillitant mom energy when they want to censor, or self serving empathy towards the voiceless they declare to be the voice of truly shows what's going on inside, if anything. People let it slide because of a talent they admire, but I try and seperate those things. We are on the brink of societal collapse domestically and in a war with 3 considerable powers internationally, and Joaquin Phoenix tells me about the environmental injustice of drinking milk? Please. Robert DeNiro warns us about political armageddon and in the same sentence tells me that he never was interested in politics until 5 minutes ago? Having a trans coutier dress you for the Met gala does not imply activism, and it's hard to warn people for the rising sea levels from your beach estate. Gibson is a flawed human being, and immensely talented. The same people who accused him of anti-semitism now conveniently back Palestine because it's trendy. That's not heroism, it's opportunism and it will amount to nothing for the people they say they support, just like with Ukraine (well, one part of it) it's more probable to hurt their case. At least with Gibson you know where he stands and so you can judge his opinions on their merit, or simply emotionally. Most actors say to stand for groups they never were part of, or demand measures that will inconvenience only the people below their own pay grade and status. Actors are supposed to know what drives people. A growing number of people need to see a decent amount of authenticity and reliability in a leading figure. Just like in politics, those two traits are in short supply in the bubbly world of entertainment. I'm not one to romanticise being an underdog, but I'm old enough to know that when everyone turns against you, you must have angered the status quo and that's almost always a good thing.

I was going to make a long-winded response, but I just want to say that when you Cancel people, you've removed the opportunity for dialogue or to simply listen to their point of view. We live in strange times where the world is very polarised, and people want to "Cancel" this side or that of the argument. This results in people living in echo chamber where people surround themselves with people who think the same. Nobody is listening, nobody is talking, and that's very bad for society going forward. I listen to everyone's opinions, some I don't like, some I hate, but also sometimes I learn to understand their point of view, even though I might disagree.

That last paragraph is so stupid I can’t even. Tell me: if everyone hates Steven Seagal or Harvey Weinstein or R. Kelly, is it because they “angered the status quo”? Or could it be that maybe, just maybe, they are in fact objectively terrible people who no self-respecting individual wants to put up with? And that Mel Gibson was, in fact, ostracized for the same reason?

@@jairkerker2821 I must reply to your astute remarks. Yes, there is indeed a lot of hypocrisy in this world, much “virtue signaling” in a world that demands true activists. Yet, what I fear I hear in your words is that we should respect a VILLAIN simply because he has “the courage” to stand before us and declare: “I am a VILLAIN, and proud!” This is the same insane “argument” I hear from people who have never truly even understood politics, yet who voice a “strong respect” for Donald Trump. Anyone alive and aware before 2008 knew that Trump was a liar, cheat, fraud, and many knew he was a womanizer. For fuck’s sake, he ADMITTED to wanting to date his own daughter. He told a ten-year-old that he’d probably be dating her in eight years. He quite effectively buried the accusation of a 13yo girl that he raped her in Epstein’s NY penthouse. So Mel’s, WHAT…a better man than Joaquin Phoenix is because he doesn’t drink the juice of an almond’s tits? Don’t try to play Mel off as a “stand up guy” because he’s not afraid to “tell it like it is” when what it is…is that he’s a shameless bigot. By the way, are you somehow trying to argue that just because we have wars going on DOESN’T MEAN that the dairy and meat industry are wrecking our planet? I can tell you from my own conversation with the western region president of the American Cattlemen’s Association that they are well aware that they must start moving into the lab-grown meat industry. It’s a done deal. There will only be fresh, killed beef on the plates of multi-millionaires and billionaires by 2050. We peasants will be encouraged to eat STEAK-UMS and "Better Burgers”. They will be better too. Burgers will taste better and be less harmful to health. They’ll just be grown on huge sheets in a lab by AI-controlled robots. No Soylent Green for us. It’ll be “real animal protein” from cloned cells of the finest bovines on earth. The “milk” will probably take longer to synthesize as the enzymes are more complex than the beef proteins and fats are. When that happens, dump your almond stocks…FAST.

Since then many actors have been canelled for a lot less and a lot more while others have gotten by with a lot less and a lot more. I feel like his blacklisting was uniquely and harshly long compared to many others who've been cast out since "canceling" has become a wider cultural movement. He's been one of my favorite actors my whole life and I never stopped watching his films. I hope to see an even bigger comeback sometime soon for Mel

This clip imbued such a huge respect in me for the guy. I know of Mel Gibson. Most that's in this video I had no clue. I knew he made Passion of Christ which broke my heart to pieces; but I didn't know he also made these other masterpieces namely: Apocalypto and Hacksaw Ridge. Hacksaw Ridge is the only other film to make me cry. I always owed it to Andrew Garfield's performance but I know now - I'm not taking away from him, his being a good actor. I didn't know who Mel was - just heard he was a recovering addict and a Christian - I'm in a third world country...these things take ages😂. But as a Christian myself - It's rare to see such a man, in such an environment, have this much integrity, fall, take full responsibility of it and still stand - praise be to God. I pray the Lord of peace gives him strength and keeps him. I mean like Mel said, "That's the whole point. If it was easy, it wouldn't be worth much."

Except, no one is throwing actual stones. The idea of the (failed utterly) attempt to silence Mel Gibson is that his “sin” was what came from his mouth, his communication to the world that he is a hateful bigot, shameless and indecent. If what people tried to do (and, again never did, obviously) to make him atone was to prevent him from spreading more poison, then it was an appropriate consequence. Remove his platform, not his tongue. What fool would twist the words of Jesus into some kind of ENDORSEMENT of wickedness? The story of the woman Jesus rescued from the bloodthirsty Pharaisees was a parable, not to be taken literally. The message was that if we’re going to KILL everyone who has sinned, then we will ALL be killed. The new covenant allowed humanity to think and act with more kindness and love, less brutality and condemnation. It kinda reminds me of the Green New Deal. Mel wasn’t accused of laying with a married man, he was HEARD, heard saying what was in his heart, which was hate-filled bigotry. He, to my knowledge, has ever actually denied that he MEANT what he said, only that he was wrong to say it. It would be nice to know what he thinks was “wrong” about that too. Was it “wrong” because it cost him fans and maybe some money in the short term, or wrong because it was hurtful to those who thought better of him and now knew the truth about him? Remember also, you who might pretend that they are Christians by misappropriating scripture, that the entire scene of the woman who was accused of laying with a married man was a philosophical “trap” set for Jesus by the Pharaisees. The original text does not difinitively say she was guilty, only accused by the Pharaisees, who are explicitly said to have been setting a trap for Jesus. There is every reason to believe that the men who accused her wanted to place Jesus in the position of defending her sin, which he did not. He did not even address her guilt or innocence. Jesus was a champion like that. He saw right through their trap for him, one that would have otherwise seen a possibly innocent woman stoned to death, and turned it on their heads. I wish I could believe he was a real man. No one like that has ever existed, sadly. What a great character he was, though, better than Kal-El, even, a space Jew, like Jesus. Jesus acknowledges that the woman has committed “sin”, but in such a way that he also absolves her of guilt. This is the difference. No guilt. Mel Gibson ADMITTED to his transgression, though not quite in contrition. He admitted he shouldn’t have SAID what he said, though not that what he said was actually evil. Thgis could be seen as a sin of omission. There really is no valid comparison to the biblical misquote. This passage from John, by the way, is one that far too many fake Christians have used to excuse bad behavior, and not to promote true kindness and understanding. So much so that it has been distorted in many people’s misinformed minds that the woman was a prostitute, which the passage does NOT say. That she was in fact Mary Magdelen, which is definitely NOT supported by the text. Several movies even show Jesus heroically standing between the accused woman and a mob with stones. That’s almost as neat a trick as turning water into wine, as the text states clearly that Jesus remained seated on the ground, writing in the sand with his finger as he calmly taught his students and replied to the Pharaisees’ accusations and calls for blood like they were asking The Teacher for a pass to the bathroom.

Here is a Mel Gibson story from a friend mine who moved from little Fredericton, NB Canada's east coast out to Los Angeles, You Know Where; one of those big places in the world. Chris had been there for several months, starting his high end job as a programmer. Sort of getting the lay of the land and the city, but over all a bit home sick and lonely. So Chris thought he'd explore the surrounding hills and country and get the hell out of the city. Late afternoon he stops for gas and then spies the ice cream stand. He gets in line and so happens the guy infant of him is Mel Gibson, getting a bunch of ice cream cones for his kids in the car, on a Sunday afternoon. They have a brief talk while waiting, and as Mel is about to walk away, Chris says "It was really great to meet a familiar face." Mel knew what he meant and off he went before everything melted.
