Your brain requires certain amount of protein daily to feel satisfied. If you feed your brain early in the day with protein and fat. No sugar or carbs. Then you will have a day free of cravings. Try it, you will. For example boiled eggs and avocado slices. Avocado es the perfect companion for a breakfast meal🎉❤god bless.

Consequences are not good for people whose brains are deeply anxious or depressed. Stealing their work and doing it for them is not right either. It does take away their self-esteem. ADHD has all of the above. Show us how once. Not tell us we will have consequences. If your way doesn't work for them, then have an alternative way they will develop it but show them your way too.

I have 80HD 😂 & my twin brother doesn't. He is smart as heck, doing honors calculus freshman year and tutoring seniors one semester in. I struggled with math A for 3 years. I succeeded in art and music but my life was crap if I wasn't constantly holding the raines. I didn't get diagnosed til my mid 30's and by then I haven't had a good job. Only being a wedding and party dj for 20 something years. When I was in continuation school, I thrived because I wasn't rushed and I could enjoy science, but I barely got my GED. Both parents were alcoholics and being the youngest of 11 and the only one hyperactive, my family didn't have the patients or willingness to figure me out. 😢

When you speak of your twin brother, he is likely 2e (twice exceptional) which is similar to an ADHD diagnosis. The difference is that his gifting outshines and may even camouflage his difference/disorder. And the opposite can also be true. A kid in school with typical neurodivergent traits may only be seen for the struggles and their giftedness missed. For example your 9th grade math teacher would never have the chance to see how you outshine others in music and art. It’s not normal for the twin to be that smart. Even that gift is still neurodivergent and I bet it came with a lag in some other area. Even areas like emotional maturity as a child, growing up. He could have been way behind

I have a lot of respect for Dr. Amen, but his idea about school work and ADD is not acceptable to me. With more than 40 years of experience teaching children who were very hard to handle, I have learned so much from them. Teaching the right methods from the basics and paying attention to each child's learning pace can make a hyperactive child very attentive. While I do not have Dr. Ameen's knowledge of the brain, I believe he lacks the experience of teaching. Though I know he is very honest, I question how quickly Ratline can teach a child. A child who is not a fluent reader typically has basic phonics problems that one week of Ratline cannot address. This seems unrealistic to me. If a fourth grader does not know multiplication, he cannot learn long division, not even with 10 weeks of Ratline. I have witnessed many successes from returning to the basics and respecting each student's pace and learning ability. While I admire Dr. Amen, I expect him to discuss learning and school issues with people who have successfully taught children who were diagnosed and overcame their labels.' not with main stream thinking about our innocent children. I am not referring to the experience of mainstream teaching ideas, just as Dr. Amen does not adhere to mainstream thinking in medicine. This is why people like me watch his every podcast. I admire his bold ideas about alcohol and drugs, and I wish I could show him the results of teaching from the basics from an early age. It works like magic, instead of giving so many children of this great nation pills, There are constructive solution for ADD.
