I don't care what is the f background here: however Whitson Chiller didn't do much in the war except talking - he wasn't a general. Also, it is not a lie to say he was bad person. He bloody starved India on purpose multiple times and did colonialism. To name few bad things. but marx himself didn't do much except writing a book and coming with an idea as a thinker as a university teacher for a study. Like he was a casual. He wasn't an active revolutionary. He didn't want to be a revolutionary by any means.

Funny how few point out Marx's bad character. Besides his self-hating racism for Jews, he was a self-centered narcissist that insisted on his way with everything. His wife was quoted as stating "He's my big baby". While his wife and children lived in dirt poverty and near starvation, Marx always made sure he had his wine and cigars. He never got his hands calloused for doing blue collar work, but struggled to get his articles published. His rich capitalist buddy Engels, who inherited his Daddy's textile business and lived like a aristocratic Bourgeoisie, kept bailing out Marx over and over, until he finally just set him up on a monthly stipend. Marx chased down every family and friend's inheritances, even though in his Communist Manifesto one of his platforms was to abolish inheritances! It was always "Do as I say, not as I do" with Marx. Even then Marx burned through money like there was no tomorrow. When Marx moved to England, he purchased a very nice middle class house, with servants (Just like BLM did recently) and then took his family on a three week vacation. Afterward, he threw a party for his daughter and 50 of her friends. The he was in debt again, and Engels had to bail him out again. Marx later got his unpaid housemaid pregnant, and then ignored the child. He had Engels claim it was his son, so Marx reputation would not suffer. Marx never cared about the poor or the working class. It was always about himself. He never went to a protest, never mingled with the workers, but always put himself as "special" to live like the very Bourgeoisie he was jealous of.

I remember a Zimbabwean woman who had moved from being working poor in Zimbabwe to become working poor with the rest of us in Western Canada. She was a deeply thoughtful lady and said that people like her in Zimbabwe were thankful that they were colonized by the British because they brought British law. I don't know anything else about the imposition of law in Zimbabwe but I have studied the situation in Canada and what is sometimes called "British Imperial Constitutional Law" is actually very respectful and protective of Indigenous rights and modes of life, believe it or not. That is obscured by the extent that governments delayed implementing the protected rights for 100+ years in various places, but the MASSIVE settlements that more and more Indigenous groups are getting are of old treaties designed around rights that were recognized and protected from day 1 when the colonists showed up.

Ayn Rand In her words: "Envy is not the emotion I have in mind, but it is the clearest manifestation of an emotion that has remained nameless; it is the only element of a complex emotional sum that men have permitted themselves to identify. Envy is regarded by most people as a petty, superficial emotion and, therefore, it serves as a semihuman cover for so inhuman an emotion that those who feel it seldom dare admit it even to themselves. . . . That emotion is: hatred of the good for being the good. This hatred is not resentment against some prescribed view of the good with which one does not agree. . . . Actually the French put up a good fight all things considered. They Germans lost 50 000 dead and more than half the tanks that were deployed. Moreover, the French sacrificed themselves in order to protect the British at Dunkirk, without which the War would probably have looked very different for the UK. The Legion Étrangère also helped win the battle of Narvik in may 1940. We can also refer to the "Cadets de Saumur", 2500 men that fought doggedly against 40.000 Germans and that were later given military honors by those same Germans at (the General Kurt Feld admired them so much that he released all the survivors). Finally, even the General Guderian wrote that "Despite the major tactical errors of the Allied command, the soldiers put up an obstinate resistance with a spirit of sacrifice worthy of the poilus (French troops) of 1916." Anyway, as a Frenchman I still love and admire Churchill and the Brits, whatever you may say. Cheers.

Hitler never intended to attack Britain, he actually admired Britain. England declared war on Germany.. and when Hitler found out he was GOB-SMACKED. He never thought we would after Chamberlain signed a non aggression pact with him. He actually used British rule in India as an example of how Germany would rule Eastern Europe. From our heritage to our culture, he admired it all. He actually professed that England and the Third Reich would be allies someday... Yet behind the scenes, right through the 1930's a great man, named Winston Churchill was expressing his disdain for the Fascist ruler. Only When atrocities were committed in the name of 'Lebensraum' (Living Space) and central Europe was almost under full Nazi control, did we turn to this man. Winston Churchill, a man with a chequered but admirable past, stepped fourth. A man who personified the heritage and glory of what this island nation is all about. A true warrior.. who fought in the trenches of Ploegsteer during WW1, the Anglo-Sudan War and the Second Boer War. Now Adolf had a worthy advisory, not only someone who matched him in influence but someone who had seen battle and lived to tell the tale. When Douglas says it was divine intervention, he's not joking.

The chances of such a leader coming to the forefront in such a situation today is slim to none, now we demand purity from our leaders and we purge those we consider to have Character flaws. A boisterous drunkard like Churchill would have fallen from power quickly today as we become ever more puritan, our best people will always be the ones that go against the grain and often reject the straitjacket of societal norms.

Our ‘hero’s’ are never perfect and are products of times we have progressed from but they’re part of our history which we can gain a sense of ourselves from. I think what’s interesting is that people seem to think that because a country has stains on its past that it will forever be that thing and can’t move on or learn from it. Yes Britain will always have colonialism in its past and it should be known but it shouldn’t blur the good aspects of what Britain has done and could do in the future. As well as people have a narrow view of history as many people only know of the bad things Britain have done but are ignorant to the bad aspects of every country and culture of the past making them think our country is specifically bad.

In times requiring action, not abstract idealism, Churchill stood for something and fell for nothing. He made mistakes and knew he might. But he had the conviction to stand for others and let history be the judge. Trying to change history by retrospective rewriting is a far easier fight. One where you can absolve yourself of any blame by the virtue of claiming victim hood with no actual consequences for yourself. This is the difference between bravery and cowardice.

Why is Churchill a racist and Marx a hero? Because Communism/Marxism is egalitarian suffering based on disparities of social standing and not racial differences. It’s a great system to advocate for if you’re trying to destroy individual sovereignty and bring in a unified, centralized government that will suppress dissent and unpeople those that try to resist the new system.

Actually Communism led mass slavery, Holodomor and the brutal atrocities of Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot and Ho Chi Minh. Now, blame for what use others made of Marx's ideas cannot be laid at his door. @@gastonangelini8352 That is true. However, the standards aren't necessarily of today. A big part of the world had already expressed itself against colonialism in the XVII and XIX century, and England was exceptionally stubborn in continuing to expand its empire and acquiring colonies until the mid-XX century. It's now that the British people are finally coming to terms with the damage their colonial expansion caused (thus revising their heroes such as Churchill), but most of the rest of the world had been complaining about it for centuries.
