I'm London born and bred. I was once immensely proud of that but I have not been back since approx 1991. It has become a foreign country to me - and not an attractive one. Her eyes vary between lower left and lower right in tandem with blinking which means she engages both of her brain halves, sometimes siphoning off her memory. Sometimes diverting mental effort towards real time thinking and evaluation. It shows that she is not going off of a script. A sign of intellectual vibrancy and honesty. That is, if one were to place such a great value in these bodily micro expressions which tbh I personally am not. Early in the video, Claire Pearsall said that a good deal of Islamophobia has recently been seen on the streets of London, and when asked where, she answered, "outside the Houses of Parliament" (at around 3:58). What was she talking about? Where were the big anti-Muslim demonstrations? Even the occasional pro-Israel demonstrations were not really anti-Muslim, and were certainly not violent. What was Pearsall talking about? Did I miss something over the past few months?

The thing is if any exasperated citizen were to say "I'm really sick of all these illegal immigrants entering the country"; then you would be considered a far right extremist.

What a great civil conversation, need more of this in our day and age

After seeing Claire Pearsall comment on a few shows recently , I cant help wondering what advice she gave as a former " government advisor " , though claire did pull out a few facts most of what she says seems to be a mad dash scramble from the top of her mind as she makes it up as she goes along. Based on this performance , I Wouldnt trust her to advise on a bucket of water !

I was in a relationship with an Iranian Shiite muslim. Very intelligent, highly educated. He explained the difference between shiite and sunni. He explained their culture. I learnt a lot. We were together 3 years and suddenly, he told me he was moving back to the States, marrying a muslim woman and pretty much I was left speechless. He later sent me an email telling me he could never have married me because I am not muslim. I learnt a lot about their culture. He was 1 of 5 boys. The eldest was shot by the government. 2 of his brothers fled to Australia. 1 to Canada and he to the USA. Their parents remained in Iran. All 4 are highly qualified professionals and integrated with their communities. They married muslim women of course.

I think this is true for a lot of issues. Right wing extremism is only present to counter act left-wing extremism and visa versa. It's a never ending loop and the only way to stop it would be to stop allowing extremism altogether, not pick and chose which extremism is the lesser evil and then ban the other one.

Totally off the mark by about the Arkansas ruling. That was a civil damages case. The court ruled that the inadvertant destruction of the embyos, that were specifically retained in order to concieve a child, denied the couple the child they were going to create from it. The applicable case law it got hitched to was an 1874 law that specifically set out the case for damages for inadvertanly killing the child of another. It revolved around civil damages, not proceedures of any kind. The various IFV clinics put everything on hold in order to explore their legal responsibilities because that treatment regimine inherently loses some in the process. Predictably, it got hitched up to the post-modern air raid siren that holds that women can never suffer any consequences for anything they ever do, despite having zero to do with abortion.
