  • @orgcomm

    I only put the most relevant references on the screen like when I quoted the 1957 reference that is on the screen (at the bottom for a while) as well as the 1960 book a little later in the video. But, clearly, all of these ideas are McGregor's and those two writings are solid and contain the ideas discussed here. But, no, I don't put a reference on every slide separately because the content is drawn from those works as well as just general textbook reading on McGregor.

    What leadership style will go with theory Y. Democratic leadership or laisezz-fair? I always wondered about it. 🌺 thanks for the videos. It helps a lot.

  • @orgcomm

    @orgcomm

    3 жыл бұрын

    I think it could be either style. I don't think there's a tight alignment between X and Y and the 3 main styles of leadership. I think there's some overlap of Y for both Democratic and Laisezz-Faire.

    important to acknowledge...if a manager wants to use "y" theory in the workplace, it is solely dependent on hr hiring people with personal goals that align with organizational goals. otherwise, the manager can't pair them up to inspire/motivate the worker. how many times have we seen hr hire people with values that are nowhere near company values? then they wonder how it didn't work out...then blame the manager.

    The content of this video is profoundly flawed. Especially the conclusion. McGregor argued that Theory X people DO NOT EXIST, have never existed and will never exist. Theory X human nature is really a prejudice. A figment of our imagination. This video sadly obfuscates that important element of McGregors work. And thus comes to a horrific conclusion.
