Same I just went around the Carlin Illuminati bandwagon videos to correct the Qanon crowd because it annoyed me. I obssessed enough to memorize the last 20 years. I toss Doug in anytime burr is compared. Burrs funny he's ok, louies great ** the asterisk is gonna stay there for reasons Jefferies was my new interest that changed immediately with Doug. 3 years and he's the closest. i love Hicks to death. He's probably my favorite just because he did give a fuck. But his material I would say compliments theirs Doug definitely has the balsiest bits George had time, and obssession with language that made it a legacy. IDK ranking them is difficult if Doug was in 92 hed have been blacklisted and performing in the uk .Carlin luckily had 20 years of fan service. Internet really made me an addict for these bits. I don't even subscribe to Libertarianism but I love this Because They don't give s fuck about you they don't care about you at all at all at all .id say RIP but i hope Georges corpse gets dug up and a homeless shelter is put there.

Enough of all the youtube fighting shit. Doug Stanhope is a brilliant comedian, and so were George Carlin and Bill Hicks, they were legends. The only difference I'd say is that Carlin was much more calculated than Hicks and Stanhope. Dude would work for years on specific bits before putting it out where as in Hicks and Stanhope's case, they'd work on it while on the road. Not taking anything away from Hicks or Stanhope, as Stanhope is my personal favorite, even though I acknowledge Carlin as #1.

I claimed the exact same thing regarding the pledge of allegiance as a kid. I did it without thought until the 7th grade (small hick town), when I finally realized what I was doing. Pledge of Allegiance......when we're being taught about the German/Nazi pledge, etc. I started to refuse to do it. I was sent to the principal a ton and then they got my father involved. Even he was mad at me until I told him why - basically how insane it is and now felt to me, how un-American it seemed. From that moment he gave the ok. School still harassed me a bit and I after another talk with my dad they never forced me to do it under threat of punishment. I'd just stand and say nothing. A few friends understood when I explained it to them but they didn't stop until no longer asked to do it in the 9th grade. I wasn't at all trying to cause a stir or gain attention, btw! I was admittedly a bit of a class clowm but this was serious to me. I still don't like it and don't think it should be done at all. It's the opposite of what people think they are when claiming to be patriotic, free and American. It's swearing an oath to government, exactly as he Doug claims. Took me until age 12-13 to realize it. Crazy.

A forced pledge is like a forced promise... ... it's void. (I've only seen one bit of evidence for a so-called 'German/Nazi pledge' - it was part of an US-propaganda newsreel and obviously produced to be an awkward version of the 'pledge of allegiance'. In Germany, a pledge was always more of a lipservice-like ritual for those, who could not be confronted with an oath.)

The pledge of allegiance has a very important function. It teaches kids that adults are idiots who are obsessively preoccupied with incredibly stupid, trivial shit. The natural talent that all people have for detecting bullshit hasn't been suppressed in kids and the pledge of allegiance is bullshit from start to finish. Why are the adults making you recite this bullshit over and over? What possible purpose could it serve? But it seems to make them happy so the only conclusion you can draw is that adults are stupid and the entire system of adult rules etc. is just going to be more of the same; meaningless repetition of empty bullshit.

Hahaha! John Ashcroft was a weird fuck, wasn't he? And for the well-known so-called "victimless crimes," I agree. Some matters aren't cured by imprisonment. Just feeding the fucking system with our drug war is all we're doing in America. This comedian really speaks his truth. This Bud's to Doug Stanhope!
