Doug Bradley reads The Outsider by H.P.Lovecraft
Ойын-сауық
One of Lovecraft’s most popular and enduring short stories, and the tale that kick-started the Spinechillers series. The first Zombie story?
More of Lovecraft’s stories, including The Rats In The Rats In The Walls, The Nameless City, The Call Of Cthulhu and more, are recorded on the Spinechillers series, 13 volumes of classic horror tales, read by Doug with guest readings by Robert Englund (who reads Lovecraft’s The Terrible Old Man) and Jeffrey Combs (who, of course, reads the Re-Animator stories)
Spinechillers CDs signed by Doug are available at www.dougbradley.com/store, along with other merchandise, including 10x8s, tee-shirts and Doug's book Beyond The Mask of The Horror Actor.
The Spinechillers series is also available to download at Audible, Amazon, and other streaming services.

Oh my God.. Doug Bradley and Lovecraft are the crossover I've always needed, but never dared to ask. Thank you, Sir.
Doug is great, I would be equally entertained if he read an Ikea product assembly instructions.
Some forms read with their eyes and mouths, so the flesh can interpret it. Doug reads with his heart and transplants it directly into yours.
Thank you Mr Bradley❤
Incredible reading. After Roddy McDowell's, possibly my favourite. HPL might have enjoyed it!
I stumbled upon this by chance, and I wanted to say I have been a big fan since the first Hellraiser film, almost 40 years ago. Your voice for Pinhead blew me away when I first heard it in the movie theater. Made me wish I could imitate pinhead's voice but I never was able to. I enjoyed hearing you read this story, though I must admit I wish it could have been read with Pinhead's deep, commanding voice. Glad I got to compliment you before either of us passed away. Take care.
HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE VIEWS AND LIKES OR SUBSCRIBERS? This is a travesty to see such disregard and disinterest in such a living legend.
Absolutely adore Spinechillers
Cool idea for a channel, Doug! I’m reading through the Library of America volume currently on Lovecraft (my first readings of him, but I definitely was aware of his influence because of a keen interest in the horror genre). I’m sure you hear it a lot, but your take on Pinhead is LEGENDARY, to quote Pinhead. I like that you give your commentary on each of these tales, too!
Great reading! Thank you, Mr. Bradley....
I love having pinhead reading me a story 💗 it tears my soul apart

LOVE PINHEAD
Que hombre tan perfecto😍
This is by far my favorite of Lovecraft's short stories. And the first story with a twist that genuinely surprised me.
Going through a most difficult personal time, to difuse myself, I went on a temporal trip watching all hellraisers ,and listening to lovecraftian audiobooks in my sparetime. And here I find Doug bradley doing a reading himself. I feel serendipitously blessed. Much love❤
Thank you so much for this.
All right, thursday night story time with Doug!
This was the first Lovecraft story I read, in a textbook of American Short Stories. It was just after a short story by Poe, which we were reading in my English class - I finished the Poe story, read the first few lines of this one, and absolutely had to finish it.
This man should either have his own Xmas show reading Xmas horror stories or become a Professor in a University, Major: Literature, Media or some same shit with specialization on Horror/Gothic.
Many thanks Doug, these readings are real treasures. This story is one of my favourites.
I never knew you had a channel and now I'm subbed
This is one of the first Lovecraft tales I ever read, in grade school, and although I did not fully grasp all that was within until well into high school, I , at once, recognized the truth of it in myself. This story gave me my own personal description of myself, " from the inside looking out, from the outside, looking in.". The moment when the narrator steps over the windowsill and sees the reaction of the others to seeing him amongst their gathering is echoed throughout my life, and I thank Howard Philip for encapsulating it in a single story.
One of my favorite stories and such a gift to hear Doug Bradley read it. I would love to hear more Lovecraft read this way. This is just what I needed today, thank you.
Doug, you speak with eloquence and have such perfect cadence. I adore listening to you and especially reading this content. Thank you for this channel 🖤
Absolutely haunting. I love HP Lovecraft, I have for years. To find your reading has not only made me happy as it combines my love of his literary words but your incredible voice and outstanding performance. Please, if I may be so bold to make a request, consider offering your interpretation of The Shadow Over Innsmouth. You would bring so much gravitas to my favorite story.
Thank you for the reading, Mr. Bradley. "The Outsider" was the first of Lovecraft's stories I read as a kid, and started a fascination with the macabre I've had for the last four decades.
Great read!
Legend
This is one of my favourites of Lovecraft, among The Fisherman of Falcon Point and The Strange High House in the Mist,... For the longest time I wanted to find a reading by you, It was wonderful, thank you!
Spectacular rendition Mr. Bradley! After a particularly horrid day, this was the exact remedy my soul was craving. Hats off, and here's to you and yours. Cheers!
I struggle with lovecraft. This is the only one I really like. Thankyou.
I was buzzed and hallucinating hard on orange sunshine back in 73 in my much younger days. I can relate in a way to the outsider himself that night I came home to my wife. I must have looked insane because as soon as I walked in the bedroom and my wife looked at me she reacted much like the people in this story when they laid eyes upon him. Save for the fact she didn't run away. She did scream and asked me why are you looking like that ?! She had the window open. It was spring and we'd just seen the Exorcist a few months before. The curtains were blowing inwards like in that scene in the movie. That sight, plus the acid trip I was on, shocked and horrified me as I entered the room. Creating a look in my expression that freaked her out and me even further. That was a simple small strange event between 2 people in a little Texas town called Duncanville. Yet it's as lasting a memory as the JFK assassination in my mind. It's odd how little things can impact us at times throughout our lives sometimes even more then huge events. Needless to say that youthful marriage didn't last 4 years. And it was to continue using acid for the next 4 to 5 years. Just a little diddy I thought I'd share. Blessings and good luck to all. Great story telling Doug.
I remember as a child how much I hated classical literature, But now as an adult I am entranced by just how timeless and powerful it's words are.
And yet oh so close to Lovecraft's birthday. Masterful read. Doug, Prost!
Thank you for this wonderful treat Sir, this is one of my favorite ones by Lovecraft
You are my favourite human, Doug! Loving these bedtime stories.
I greatly enjoyed your reading of The Outsider, one of my favorite H.P. Lovecraft stories. I am a huge Lovecraft fan. I am also a Hellraiser fan. Hellraiser 1, Bloodline, and Deader are my favorites of the 8 Hellraiser films. (Did I say 8? I meant 10 of course.) I'm actually nervous commenting to you because The Hellraiser Hell Priest is a big deal to me and such a part of what I love when I think of Horror, but everything I try to say sounds ridiculous. I've been sitting here for a half hour trying to be clever so I am just going to thank you for reading The Outsider and for the years of horrifying fun your Pinhead has given me. ~Denise
I read this a long time ago, and it has stayed in my mind but hear it read out -- especially by the person behind the Hell Priest -- is a rare treat past midnight on Friday the Thirteenth. Thank you for reading. :)
Thank you so much, Hp Lovecraft some of my favorites well done my friend.
Thank you so much for this!
thank you for this! my favorite by him, i would love to hear other peoples views on the meaning of the story!
Love Lovecraft. Thanks for the upload 🖤
Thank you, this is one of my favorite H P Lovecraft stories.
Fantastic reading as always, Doug.
Love it, thank you sir. I actually have that same book sitting next to me now. Very nicely put together tome.
Oh wow, I'm loving this channel. Thank you for providing the awesome content. 🖤😤
Doug, you could totally make this an ASMR channel!
I met you at Calgary Horror Con years ago and love and play my Spinechillers CDs. Plus I would love a follow up to your panel where you mentioned visiting a haunted asylum.
I am in love with those movie monster pictures Doug has on the wall. I wonder where one could get them.
I remember this and two other stories in a Halloween edition of Heavy Metal. "The Outsider", "The Music of Erich Zann", and "Nyarlathotep". I love hearing Mr. Bradley read this short story.
I noticed you have a picture of Lon Chaney as the phantom of the opera on your wall. I'd love to hear you read the original novel, even though I read it several times. 🤓😊
Hello! I saw that you did a few Edgar Allan Poe videos, and I’ve loved listening to you speak. I was wondering if you could do Annabel Lee by Poe? It’s my favorite poem from my favorite poet.
dear doug, around 2008-2010 were you in Colchester? I remember seeing someone who looked like you at that time and was too shy to approach and say hello!
The 1 thumb down is from the collective of "other" pinheads that aren't Doug.
I have never seen any of the Pinhead movies, but I am aware of them--kinda hard for my mind to stretch around the persona. Are you dark inside, Mr. Bradley?

I thoroughly enjoy the videos as they are but I can't help but wish there was another version with his doctored up Pinhead voice.
The one person who gave a thumbs down lacks taste! >.> lol
Not the first Zombie story, I believe in the Lovecraft genre he was a ghoul.
