Roddy McDowall is one of my favourite actors and his reading of this is the best version I have ever heard. Thankyou for sharing it.

I had this lp when I was a kid. It may, indeed, have been my introduction to H. P. Lovecraft. It holds up well, his voice is perfect for this prose.

He reads beautifully. It's a good match. H P Lovecraft had a rather high voice too.

There US another version available out there. I was lucky to purchase them before they became a hot collectors item. The series is called "The Dark Worlds of H.P. Lovecraft" and the stories are read by Wayne June, and without a doubt I can say it's THE ABSOLUTE BEST readings of Lovecraft I have ever heard. Wayne June has an excellent voice Lovecraft narrations! The collection seems to be going for anywhere between $200 to $1300 on the internet markets these days !!!2

there is a better version out there, a much better version, but it seems to have become a bit more difficult to find. its in the draconian song "it grieves my heart"
