Doug Bradley reads The Black Veil by Charles Dickens (1812-1870)

The Black Veil is a very early short story by Dickens, published in a collection called Sketches under his nom-de-plume of Boz when he was still in his early twenties.
A young doctor receives a visit from a woman whose face is covered by a black veil. She has a strange request. She needs the doctor to help someone in a life or death situation, but he can do nothing now. Instead, he must wait until the morning. What can she mean?
More of Dickens' stories are recorded on the Spinechillers series, 13 volumes of classic horror tales, read by Doug with guest readings by Robert Englund and Jeffrey Combs.
Spinechillers CDs signed by Doug are available at www.dougbradley..., along with other merchandise, including 10x8s, tee-shirts and Doug's book Beyond The Mask of The Horror Actor.
The Spinechillers series is also available to download at Audible, Amazon, and other streaming services.

You sir, are one hell of a reader; I would put you up there with the professionals that I’ve heard read, and they’ve had sound-crues and re-recordings and who knows what else. I’ve listened all my life to audio books because I’m blind, and because they were my companions growing up, but you are fantastic. All I can say is from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I was never really a Dickens fan, but I might’ve been. Have a great, whatever time it is where you are.
