I have already seen this somewhere else and tested it immediately. It seems to work very well for my 6 year old machine. Everything is much smoother when i look around. Although I still have an ever increasing fps degradation with airliners on flights longer than 3 hours. But at the moment I'm very happy that on 1-2 hour flights at 40-60 fps on medium to high settings it runs consistently smooth without these ultra annoying "stutters".

Are you using the freeware ISLC (Intelligent Standby List Cleaner) ? I have used it for almost a year, and what the program does is cleaning your RAM buffer every time it runs too low, effectively giving your memory new breathing room. For me at least, gone are all those FPS drops and details on the ground not being drawn. I highly encourage anyone reading this to give it a go. It's an excellent piece of software. BTW, I fly using a Reverb G2, and my hardware is a RTX3070 OC, i7-10700K and 32 GB RAM.

Thank you very much. Before it used to be 4 fps - but now I managed to fly at low altitude and get 9fps+ with building, tree, grass and bushes set to ultra. My specs: i5-8250u Intel uhd 620 8GB DDR4 RAM SODIMM

I think the reg edit tweak that adds 2-3 fps isn't worth fiddling with it, but the Render Scaling tip is pretty useful thank you.

Doesn’t the reduced render scaling impact readability of the cockpit displays? It did make them blurry for me. Steam gauge airplanes are obviously still doing great in this case.

Depends. Small tweaks won't cause issue (if you're trying to gain that extra 5 -10 fps). If you're running 4K you can drop 50% which is like 1080p but actually much better. Each person will have to decide what does does not look OK; the point is 5% can gain you 5-10 frames.

@@SimUKReviews agreed. I ended up reducing resolution to 1080p while keeping scaling to 100% and I can still see and read all displays easily. If I kept the resolution and reduced scaling to 50%, it downgraded the displays way too much.

@@ondrejfenclcom You need to run a resolution equal to your monitor. Then use scaling. That will ALWAYS be tge sharper option. If you're running on a TV it won't matter.

@@TrueBlade-1889 Having done that, I have blurry displayes on resolution eaual to screen with scaling down while if I have resolution lower than the screen with scaling set to 100%, I have absolutely great quality and big performance gains.

A while back I found render scaling set to 70 to give the best bang for the buck. That adjustment alone doubled my frame rates with little to no impact on resolution.

I have not flown for two weeks now since having gotten Airport Ceo. Your fault. But I’ll give this a whirl and report back.

The problem with me is that I'm already in 1080p. Even if I shoot +- at 60 fps for small planes, when the airbus (my favorite) is out, the fps drops by half. But I can't see myself playing at 720p.

You should try dropping overall quality first, then perhaps rescale by 5% it can have a huge boost.

@@SimUKReviews Thank you for your advice. It is true that I often believed that 5% would not make me win FPS. But I never tried either. Configuration point of view I managed to obtain a "good" balance for the airbus, but I am between 25 and 30 fps depending on my choices and the departure airport. If I could win a stable 30 fps it would be perfect. So I'm going to try your advice, it costs nothing to try. thx

The big hit on performance is traffic ..I know traffic is cool and all but for better frames go to traffic settings and reduce or totally turn of sliders there and also the LOD slider in graphics has a huge impact on fps

Cant change the number from 2 to 4 with low end pc

50% down render scaling and I am afraid that you will have a very blurry glass cockpit, basically unreadable. it only works for very high resolutions

That is correct & I think I mentioned that in the video? At 90% though, you're still gaining FPS at minimal loss, perhaps even as far as 75% is possible? I have only tried in 2K and 4K so I accept valid correction as necessary on that one & at the end of the day it is bespoke to each player. :-)

Not the first fix no...I don't personally think it makes much diff (or any on my case). Tweak 2 will 100% work for you 100% guaranteed! I promise.

The sim is broken. So annoying that we have to keep finding these tweaks instead of asobo just fix their problems.

A number of these issues are introduced by Windows settings itself, and affect other games as well, this is one of them. Another is Windows Game Mode setting and hardware acceleration settings. My system works best with those settings off. The big one that makes a big difference is in the compatibility page of apps. Disable Fullscreen optimization option, do it in the Change for all users option rather then on the base page. Anytime Windows tries to optimize a app itself 9 times out of ten it ends up doing the opposite.

The Sim mainly runs single thread......on the old FSX engine.....that's the biggest issue with it.

@@SimUKReviews Yes. Samsung top end TVs do G sync from 20 to 120. That's the only benefit they have, as they don't do Dolby Vision HDR and mine only has 1 × full 2.1 HDMI port .... 🥴 But I only use it for PC gaming so it does the job. My other TV is Oled and has 4 x 2.1 HDMI ports... But I'd never use it for gaming anyway. I believe it only goes down to 40 fps for VRR. Yet to try it with MSFS though.

hmmm... This made absolutely zero difference on my system. : ( Running i7 6700's and GE Force GTX 1080 Still only getting about 24 - 30 FPS with almost all Ultra settings and 70% Render Scaling. I changed the render scaling months ago and got about 2x the frame rates with very little impact on graphics quality.

So....I just tested this game on a PC with an i7 13th gen processor and NO GRAPHICS Card.....Ran really well, no stutters no issues (was 1080p) so yes I agree with you, this is CPU bound way more than GPU bound

hey man can you help me out ive put my resolution on 4k and medium graphics and 50 render scaling but for some reason i only got like 10-17 fps whys that id appreciate it if you can reach back to me

But if you make terrain level of detail so low you have such blurry ground textures of screen vector is on ultra cause i dont want the terrain to load so slow its the same like mine slowmotion in flying guess i have to buy th 4090 to play that shit with all set on ultra i have enough of pop ups and blurry ground texture
