The 6600XT is an overlay mistake, it was overridden for our 6600XT testing and was not changed immediately, apologies for that. All the tests were done on the 1660 Ti.

how did u have it on ultra can the 1660 ti really run msfs on ultra?!

When I watched this video, I thought of yet another video out of the dozen I watched on the same subject (with no noticeable changes and often very complicated settings). I still applied the settings which for the most part were higher (extra) than mine (high / medium / extra). My graphics card is an Asus 3070, CPU i5-9600k @ 5.0 mhz, Mem 32k 3200, TV LG 42 "1080p, VR reverb G2 headset. FOR THE FIRST TIME in a year I have had excellent results. (Screen & VR) Even over London, Brussels and N-Y..... Thank you, a thousand times thank you for this excellent video.

Doesn't it make more sense to start from the Low Preset and turning the settings up one by one? If you start with the Ultra preset, you may turn one setting down and see no FPS difference because the FPS is limited by another "ultra" setting.

You basically have made the sim look shit with all those low settings IMHO. you have a killer of a cpu with a weak gpu. upgrade that and you wont have to dumb it down so much

I have a 3080ti, i9-9900k 32gb ddr4-4000mhz ram. I don’t even run everything on ultra, rather a mix of ultra, high, and even medium. I don’t even turn on vsync. or else my frames drop even lower. Even with my specs and lowered graphics, I only get 45 fps when flying in the air and 30 fps when on the ground. God forbid I try to fly over NYC. My game also crashes randomly at times which just bugs me on. I do get a “limited by mainthread” message on the fps counter thing. Any suggestions on what I should do? Is there anything I can do at all?

Although not expected, the TAA anti aliasing setting and many other settings in your video that were set on Ultra appeared to be consistently better than all of the other setting (when comparing all 4) with the average fps firmly outdoing many other averages - yet you ended up recommending the FXAA setting in the case of anti-aliasing and low or medium on other features. That didn't make sense when comparing each on a like for like system (i.e. all four were running on the same system). Other than that, thanks for a great video! As expected, clouds have a huge hit, but they add to the realism.

Thanks for that video help me a lot, my pc is a 4790k 4 core and a 3060ti and i was having a hard time with my VR, my settings open xr 80, oculus tray tool 1.5 at 30HZ, found out that in vr the terrain level of detail is best low, 30 and object level of detail 10 the most, buildings and trees low, 100 on render scaling and having 200 on the pc settings everything else ultra and terrain shadows off , and avoid supersampling, anisotropic filtering 8x

would love to see a new guide when SU10 is out. Trying to folow this on 9 but theres some new options such as Raymarched reflections and a few others.

Wait, y'all use msfs2020 at school?

Great! You where able to double you FPS by changing FS2022 into the looks of FS2004. So what's the point? You could just use the presets from Asobo in the game. These are tuned very well already!

I came here looking for a fix for low GPU usage on my RTX 2080Ti... I don't know what went wrong and when but I've been looking at my GPU Usage and FPS and I'm getting 22-32 FPS on any resolution with GPU maxing out at 50-60% usage only Ryzen 7 3800XT RTX 2080Ti 32gb RAM I've tried lowering settings but its like, the game won't give more FPS except when I'm looking directly at ground... I think it could be a distance scaling issue but I don't see any distance scaling settings in game Help!

@@SumitGaming- I tried something which allowed me to pull off an avg 36 fps on 4k, basically you have to keep the misc stuff like traffic density, vegetations, buildings to a moderate number, I'm gonna be real even though the Ryzen 7 3800XT paired with the 2080Ti is not a bad combination given when the game was released back in Aug 2020 or something and 2080Ti was the best gaming GPU during that time, AMD does in fact make bad gaming CPUs when you compare them to Intel counterparts, to this day I still regret not getting the 10700K over this overprices piece of cap the 3800XT, won't make the same mistake again and don't trust the paid youtube benchmarks and mouthpieces

Thanks for making the video. Only, it's not overly helpful (as it pertains to settings) because this is no different than dropping everything to low and sacrificing the quality. As for your explanation of each setting, I think the video is worth it and better explained than Microsoft help for each setting.

I went from 25 to 30 fps using medium settings to 30 - 35 using these settings I recommend these settings

I don't understand how you're comparing when in some of the same tests you have an RX 6600 XT and for others a GTX 1660 Ti. What are you trying to show by using different cards for the same test but mixing the results? It doesn't make sense to me.

Unfair comparison - the one with the double FPS at the end is an Nvidia GTX 1660 TI whereas the one running ultra settings is a RX 6600XT (according to the overlay at the top of the screen). Why couldn't you have done this properly if you went to the effort of putting this video together?

Do you know any advice to improve framerate? I play on Xbox series S & since last update I got serious stuttering and more crashes. Is there anything I can do? (Like playing with no bots/no real weather/offline streaming/I don’t know)

I went from 20-30fps to 50-60+ by turning the resolution down from 1080p to 720p. I have everything on High and Ultra with the 2 sliders at 150. It actually runs and looks good on an i7 6700k w/ a GTX 1070

@@patrickblanco1781 go to Options, then graphics. It is the second box down and change the screen resolution lower. I just kept lowering it until my FPS was smoother.

I don’t understand your conclusions in a lot of cases. Take all of the following Windscreen Effects, Ambient occlusion, Reflections, light shafts - looking at the FPS you show in the video, In all those cases Ultra had the best FPS for current/1%/0.1% of all the settings. But you still choose low. That seems odd to choose low if ultra is better quality and better frame rates. And logically ultra being best makes no sense. Are the frame rates above the correct settings?

This is very obvious to me as well, In most ULTRA had better fps leading me to believe the author made a critical error when labeling the text

I optermised my sim and got more clickbate by lowering the game settings lol

I am still struggling getting over 35 FPS I tried all the tips in this video bit my maximum FPS I can get is 30-34 FPS . I have i7 10700KCPU @ 3.8 GHZ and ram 32GB, windows10 Pro , Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 . Any advise thanks a lot

It's a flight sim. They don't need high frame rates for an optimal experience. 30 fps should be the target to be maintained. Also making sure that your monitor is syncing with the frames so there's no tearing which really degrades the experience more than anything. Your system will run this sim beautifully but shoot for the best quality while maintaining that 30 fps.

I just bought an Xidax PC.. Intel i7 11700 5.0ghz boost. With 3200mhz 16gigs ddr4. MSI Z590 Pro Motherboard and a RTX 3060Ti Overclocked. I think i can put everything on Ultra. No matter what you do, Microsoft flight simulator always designed it's game for future gen Gpu and that is why i didn't pay extra for the RTX 3070ti, 3080ti or a 3090 because no matter what! you will not be going pass 80 fps not even on the RTX 3090

@@WePCBenchmarks Thank you!. I wanted an Xbox series X which it has a 12 teroflops graphic card. But it's soo hard to find one at it's real legitimate price unless you want to buy from scalpers for $900. So i gave up and bought myself a Xidax PC. I did all of this just for the Flight Simulator 😂

Reduce both scalers to 10-25 and keep everything else on high. Easy. I run this on a 1050ti and i3 at 1080p High no problem lmao.

@@Chasem20 16gb dual channel. I think you can run with 8 no problem as the game usually takes up 6-8gb at most.

hilarious settings, if you want your "game" to look like rubbish follow his guide if not there are many other around

If you dont see it its fine, other have it their way. for me 30-40fps is fine when you are mostly flying very high up, like big passenger jets, but if you fly only couple hundred meters above the surface then its nice to have a higher framerate for sure to enjoy the flying by of the scenery and it also helps with keeping textures sharp as side moving 30fps texture appears blurrier to the eye than a 60fps one and so on.

This video is so out of date it should be deleted. Many flight simmers are getting at 40 fps and more with way higher settings than these recommendations. And many of the low or medium settings suggested here make a huge reduction in quality. There are many recent videos showing settings for graphics that improve performance while allowing high TLOD , OLOD, super sampling, clean shadows etc.
