Great Vid Chris! For me, I already did 20+ years corporate, so I have many high end skills, but right now I couldn’t see myself going back there. But I think this video is definitely going to be helpful for some people. You’re right though, gig work has no chance of career progression or skills development. Love your work!!

Doordash sucks big time, I have been on both sides, last year a driver and this year a partner restaurant. Doordash app is outdated, slow and often takes over 30min to assign a dasher, estimated times are wrong, some dashers never show up etc... Uber is nice and smooth, they sent a photograph to do a photoshoot of my dishes, 10x the amount of orders, accurate times and I have a lot of information about the driver before he arrives. I may even stop DD altogether and switch to the panda food thing.

Great video Chris! I have a somewhat similar path. Also have done a ton of Udemy courses in IT.. I agree, use the gig apps to plug some holes and also seed the future.

You are correct. I moved from being a courier to doordash and it is nothing like each other. I just accepted a job due to my time as a courier not as doordash. Follow Chris Booy's advice do mines or truck driving. Use doordash for the money to get the accreditation.

Dissapointing video Chris😓 I could make $100K+ a year driving a forklift or stacking pallets but I choose to do Ubereats full time.. Even though I make less money, I am far, far happier as a person. Gig work like Ubereats is not a job, it's a business. It's all about mindset. If you are happy for people to tell you, What time to start work, What time to finish, When to have a break, How long your break is, What to wear, What you have to do, Deal with workplace politics, ect, ect, Then by all means, get a job working for someone else.. Not everyone has the capability to make it on their own, no shame in that... I'm 50yo & I know plenty of people who have followed the get a "good paying job" principle & honestly their lives are sad, really, really sad... Self employment rules💪

Not at all. The only people who can build a life on gig work are those who already have financial stability. This is great advice. Only thing I disagree about is getting a job in the mines. It's not that easy.

@@davidwarren78 bro, I started doing ubereats fulltime in 2022, drowning in Bills, with no cash savings, withdrawing my earnings daily to buy food.. Within a few weeks I was earning upto $2,300 per week "in the hand".. But what about car costs? Wear & tear? My car was a 1997 Ford Festiva I found om Gumtree that cost me $700 registered, drive home... I did over 60,000km in that $700 ford, only spending money on New Tires that cost $30 each fitted & balanced(thankyou gumtree), 3-4 $20 , 4 litre oil bottles from woolworths, $100 on a new stereo from Supercheap Auto.. Not much right? Well after 60,000 kilometers the engine blew the head gasket (i never changed the oil filter) & I sold the car to a tow truck driver for $400.. So what I wrote in my original comment is true because I am a living example of the fact.... In regards to working in the mines well yes it can pay very well but there is a reason the pay is good,, its because its crap work people wouldnt do for cheap. A Truck driving? Yeah the pay can be really good too...But there is also a reason why Truck Drivers die much younger than the average person🤔
