Donkeys! HSH S4E18

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Peaceful Pastures Donkey Rescue visited the shelter not once, but TWICE and they were able to transfer some amazing donkeys into their organization. They are a Full Circle of Life shelter and they brought us horses to find amazing homes for and took some donkeys to their organization. Is that all that happened? No! There was medical care, farrier care, all kinds of things happened so make sure you watch every minute of this episode of Horse Shelter Heroes.

Many people view Arabians as nervous, but the thing is that they are just loud. Other horses might build that anxiety up until it seems like they blow up about a minor thing, while Arabians will express it right from the start. They do take things incredibly fast, and positive reinforcements work like a charm. If they seem grumpy when you brush them, you are either to hard or perhaps to soft, if it's to soft, it will tickle and they will let you know. 😂 Work with them, and they are strong, smart and loyal. ❤

Those Arabians are gorgeous! Their background story really is sad. But I am sure the woman would be so happy to see her wish being fulfilled! Kory asks for pool noodles - and gets a lot of them 😂 It’s so true - the rescues networking together can save so many more animals!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the network of rescues that's being formed. Jason & Tawnee's vision of at least one Circle of Life rescue within a day's drive anywhere in the US is happening! I really felt for those poor Arabians who have never known anything but each other their whole lives. I had Arabs, and have worked with them for years for various stables. I would give anything to be able to adopt all five to keep them together, because this late in their lives, I just would hate to tear them away from each other now. I really hope someone who loves Arabs as much as I do takes them in.

I have watched horse plus for sometime and have enjoyed watching the transformation of these starved and injured horses. The staff has indeed changed.i always liked Sarah and Kimberly. The Sarah behind the camera had so much enthusiasm an brought a great deal to the show. Cory was a great addition to horse plus. Shelby grew so much and learned so much about the horses mostly from Jessie. Matty came on board and I'm sure she does her job but she is no Jessie. I miss watching the show with Doc, Cory, Shelby and Jessie. As much skills that Jessie brought its a shame that she couldn't have been retained.

Well Kory..you asked for new pool noodles...and you got pool noodles..🤣🤣 I think its great that you just mention what you need and your supporters send them to you..haha.. I saw Miss Ginger being let out in the pasture in her own video and boy did she kick her heels up..bucking and prancing around. It was like hey I'm a real horse now and I can trot and prance..it was truly wonderful to see..from day 1 intake and that awful foot and leg to now..Dr Nancy and Elijah did great work..Those Arabians are truly GORGEOUS..my oh my they're going to be a handful..good luck Kory. Can't wait to see those videos..so Kimberley said they're still nursing off mom..does that happen?.. does it take away from the moms body physically?.. how are you going to cope with that..that's a bit if a head scratcher..love love love Donkeys..so funny..will miss seeing Applejack and Bozeman they were funny.. yes I remember seeing that one Jack trying to mount a horse through the fence. No wonder he is still swollen..they must have been mighty full of testosterone..🐴🤣🤣🙊.. love Cosmos. .. he should get adopted quickly he's a cutie..great video..look forward to the next one..🇬🇧💞✝️🙏👏👍🐎🐴🇺🇸🤣

@@jofarwell9744 Thank you Jo.. I'm not a horsey person..never ridden one etc.. but a big follower of Horse Plus..its so hard watching the auction and intake videos but I make myself watch because these horses..ponys and donkeys deserve us to actually see what is being done to them by us humans..who am I to turn my eyes away..I admit I do cry and need to watch the vids in parts as its just so upsetting.. these gorgeous Arabians were clearly loved but maybe a little too much..think of the life they could have had if properly trained but can you imagine them in the slaughter pipeline with their behaviour it would have been absolutely horrendous for them..Kory is the best. Look what he has done with the likes of Carol and recently Freya too.. I just adore anything to do with donkeys and I do sponsor one over here in the UK 🇬🇧.. I sponsor ib my friends name as she loves the donks too..I picked a guy called Oscar who is a grey..is a bit ornery and has a lot to say for himself and likes to tell the helpers off if they're late with the food. .a bit like my friend 🤣.. I have donated now and again to Horse Plus and the exchange rate to the $ is good.. so glad Kory got his noodles but he looked and sounded pretty rough, but they are a great idea to descentisize the horses. Shame the donks aren't worked with more..👏👍

I have only had one Arabian horse in my life, he came from a sale in Scottsdale Az off one of the most prestigious Arab farms, but they had a ton of stud colts that they wanted to sell as quick as possible and I lucked out and was able to one so well bred that no where in my dreams, or my finances could I have thought to get one like I did. I was used to quarter horses so there was quite a lot to learn about the Arabian, They are very sensitive, and hot blooded, but once you are able to make friends with them, they remind me of the way a dog gets attached to their owner. They are very loyal so if you raise on from a baby, they really bond with you. Unfortunately, circumstances happened in my life and I had to give my horses up, but thanks be to God a very good friend of mine took my Arabian, he already knew her and she loved him as much as I did so I know it worked out well for both of them. My quarter horses went to responsible "cowboy" types and got good homes as well. I did not sell them, I gave them to the best people I knew of. Will these Arabians ever be adoptable? Have they never been worked with on ground manners, or have any been ridden? Having lived in a TRUE family all their lives, not trailered or ever been off the property where they were born, it is going to be sort of hard to adopt them out I would think, unless someone just wants pasture pets that are beautiful to look at......stay tuned and I guess we will find out.

The former owner said they behaved well for their farrier. They were all halter broke. I think they're just traumatized by being taken from the only place they've ever known all their lives. First trailer ride. First strange humans. Strange place. Strange horses. Strange smells. Too much coming at them all at once, especially for such a sensitive, reactive breed. Give them time to settle in, to learn about their new environment, I think they'll be fine to handle. However since they've always been together all their lives and now they're senior horses, it would re-traumatize them to separate them at this late stage. I really hope an Arabian lover takes them all together. I know that's a BIG wish, but I hope it happens, so they can live out their lives with their little equine family.

We have a recue here in Arizona where I live and they get a lot of Donkey's don't know why but they are well treated they also let children with disabilities and young adults to come and experience with the Donkeys where they are taken on ride's it's a good organization and they are always looking for new Donkey's and children to ride because they are also for sale and people use them on their land. In Arizona it's a class 4 Fenelly to abuse any animals and they can go to prison for upto 10+ years and when they get out for the rest of their life they can't be around live Stock and domestic animals.

That was SO funny. I was stunned when Tawnee was talking about the Arab horses that came in and suddenly I heard her say, "one of these look like one we had, it's behind the older flea bitten horse" . I couldn't believe she had been so rude about a horse and a donated horse to boot. ( it's a slang phrase meaning old and scruffy in the UK). It was'nt until someone else used the phrase that I checked and found out that it's a colour of grey LOL 😂😂

I am very glad Horse Plus is family oreinted and is ok for kids. No amount of cussing or foul language in any form noticed. No whips or beatings of any type. This makes you all my "heroes" for this day and age. The horses you have saved have probably heard it all. Keep up the team work! Thank you all for the love of all animals! As always, keeping you in my prayers and heart. 🙏😁💕

We used to use PANTY HOSE for ear protection. It works and being light, they don't rub them off. You have to cut them to fit, and tie at the ends, but hey, worth a try!?

Oh my - panty hose for long ears fly protector. I had a gorgeous lil mule and I did same for her. It worked well. I thought I was the only one to try that.🤣

Those Arabians are lucky they got to stay with their dam and family since that's the way it happens in the wild. Animals want to stay with their families just like most of us. Humans have to sell them off and separate them. It's sad what they have to go through.

16:00 Ginger is too funny. She starts on the right, saying hi to each person, as she follows the pen to the left. Again, stopping and saying hi to every person. EXCEPT THE VET! Ginger just bypasses the Vet, as if it was her fault. Well WE KNOW YOU ARE THE ANGEL of the get-well story and we thank you.

My boy is Arabian, and I bred him. He's 28! Edit: they would also being feeling insecure. My horse won't let anyone touch him unless I'm there or he recognises someone he knows who has been kind to him. They are very much 1 person horse, or if you're a family, very much that family's horse. Every single one of these horses would have felt that way about their owners, especially after 20+ years.
