Maybe the titles and thumbnails undersell the actual content, it doesn’t acknowledge the video has great faces, personalities, actual information and well thought opinions about the subject. Not to mention good production and entertainment value. But i’m sure you’ve researched this and there’s a reason why they are well made, but quite generic. I’m happy i found this channel though, been a fan since lawrence was just a laptop.

​@@Mabswer That's a bad take. Sony isn't really harmed by this. We know some of their internal deliberations regarding future decisions but that's it. Wolverine and Venom and Spider-Man 3 are gonna release and they are probably gonna make loads of money, and that's all that Sony cares about. It's Insomniac developers who are the victims. Firstly, having their personal details leaked, and secondly, having their work leaked before they are ready to show it.

Generally, they don't operate that way. It's safer and more profitable to move on to another target. Also, they said the data will go to one owner, it will be deleted after being sold. So if they kept the data, not only would it piss off the gang they sold the data to. It would hurt their ability to sell stolen data in the future. I mean, you aren't going to go back to a guy who sells you oregano when he promised it was Mary Jane.

it isnt blade, but bones that growth out of his back fist. Early in the Wolverine before he received adamantium coating. its just a mere bones growth out of his back fist, sometimes its easily cut off during fight

I'm surprised you didn't mention the biggest revelation from the leak - that it takes $7 million to port a AAA licensed game to the PC. I think it was around $7 they were given to port Spider-Man 2 to PC. It might have been $6 million or $8 million. Still, that's incredible to me that they get $300 million to make the entire game, then $7 million for a port. I mean, it's probably enough money to do it right (especially since it's in house for them) but it seems remarkably little money to me?

I feel bad for insomniac games and the people affected. I'm most likely gonna forget about these leaks.

Business PII info leaks is dangerous, not only because it puts your employees in harm’s way. It puts the business in danger because now employees can be more easily targeted for system access information.

I realize that a ton of goodwill was gained by both Microsoft & Sony during the console wars. If you view the other side as evil or bad, you’re inherently gonna think of your side as good. I think that both companies benefited greatly from that era

The only reason I would want to look at the footage is to see the difference between the build now and at release. I'll just wait till it comes out and look at the leaks then. It is fascinating to see the transformation though. If more people saw that happen, I think they would be more patient.

Sunset overdrive was so good, they should release it on Playstation to make the profit it deserved.

I feel like Sony doesn’t get that Spider-Man 2 is also a back door ad for venom which will probably sell about as much and be way cheaper to make which sorta accounts for the overall extra cost

Heartbreaking to hear that Sunset Overdrive and Ratchet & Clank weren't profitable. It sucks that higher quality games don't have the ubiquitous appeal that Marvel does. When everyone has a console, not just gaming hobbyists, it makes companies like Sony want to sell every game to every console owner. In reality, I'm sure a ton of those people only play 1 game a year (usually CoD or Sports Titles).

Like they realize whoever does the leaks eventually gets caught. They usually find the person who leaks.

I would love to hear how they went from the first FUSE trailer to the trash that was release.

People also bought miles thinking it was a full game. If people knew it was just barley bigger than a DLC the sales may not have been that high

20:23. I worked at Unity for about 4 months as a temp in accounting around 2018. Everyday at lunch I would sit, eat my lunch, looking out this window about 20 floors up and I watched the construction of what would be become a condo everyday. So I would see the slow process of this condo being built wall by wall, floor by floor. It was fascinating so I get what Bruce is saying.

The Sunset Overdrive news is a bit misleading. Insomniac wasn't footing the bill for that game, Microsoft was, so any profits would go to Microsoft, minus the little bit that went to Insomniac. Sounds like Microsoft didn't want to foot enough money compared to Sony, to pay for SO 2 instead of Spiderman

i saw all the files including blue prints , mocap and beta testing and its all real.

I wanted this game to be metal gear solid meets wolverine.. weapon x missions full of mayhem.

i wouldnt mind studios giving roadmaps like marvel or starwars.

it's a good thing Sony now (eventually) releases a lot of their games on PC to really profit off of them

Ratchet and Clank is a kids game, the PS4 game was 40$, and going from that to 70$ is what hurt it. No fucking way I'm paying that much for a kids game. (Also don't argue that it was cheaper because it was a remake, Demon's Souls remake was 70$. There's no standard to sell remakes cheaper.)

I would have LOVED to play Sunset Overdrive, but budget really limits me to one console and that was Playstation.

Maybe Miles Morales got more sales cause it was cheaper? 🤔

I REALLLY want that 2% to belong to some top exec and showing some truly scandalous details, I like to think some shady dude snuck in and bought everything pertaining to him.

It’s truly heartbreaking to see all your work being judged while the painting no even done let alone dry and while love seeing stuff from in development games with the way Sony seem to not be happy with insomniac profitability for some reason I can’t comprehend ( like my guy just made you more money then you gave them) I’m sure someone at Sony is gonna hang this over insomniacs head and there just gonna have to take it

Im surprised you guys didnt cover that spiderman 3 might be in 2 parts for $50 each, one year apart from each other. That was the biggest shock to me. I hope they dont do that. Splitting a game in two parts just so people that really want to play them when they come out to pay $100 + tax? Thats outrageous. But sadly, that might be normalized in a couple of years

PS5 sales still more-or-less kept pace with PS4 sales during PS4's first couple of years. PS5 sold more during its launch year, than PS4 did during its launch year. And PS5 sold about a 2.5 million units less during its first 2 years, than PS4 did during its first 2 years (22.5 million PS5's vs 25 million PS4's). So sales were still very healthy. It's just that demand exceeded supply which meant the consoles were selling out very fast. Also, when Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart launched (June 2021), we were in the pandemic-induced digital entertainment boom. People were spending loads of money on games. It was only after Russia invaded Ukraine around March 2022 that inflation and recession hit.

@@zaidabraham7310 you wrote all that to prove a point in an argument no one has having. No one was doubting if the console sold well or not. The point of the comment was bunch of ppl didn't purchase many games when a vast portion of the consoles being bought were thanks to bots buying in bulk to sit in a reseller's closet for markup later instead of by a human who would then buy games on the console. The point wasn't the consoles weren't selling, it's they were most in boxes untouched. Plus the library launch was barren, everyone who got a console year 1 were still playing the PS4 backlog/releases just on better hardware unless you were a real fan of that IP.

@oc3891 The reason I'm arguing that PS5 sales were healthy, is to prove that there was enough of an install-base when R&C Rift Apart launched. Specifically to counter your point that the game sold poorly because nobody could buy a PS5. "Most consoles were in boxes untouched". Proof? We have no idea how many PS5's were scalped, and even if it was a very large percentage, I imagine scalpers managed to sell them to end-users quite quickly (because demand was so high). Scalpers wouldn't have been sitting on the consoles for months on end.

Man I bought the sunset overdrive version of the Xbox one just because I wanted a white Xbox one, when I actually played sunset overdrive I realized just how good that game was. Shame it was such a financial failure

the story leaks rub me so wrong with the romance and a certain sinister villain. feels like those DC animated movies where they gave entire plots and arcs belonging to other characters to the ones featured, and not achieving anything worthwhile and damaging public perception of the characters not featured

im so annoyed that as an xbox player i cant play a huge chunk of marvel games like i was fine with spiderman since sony owns him but they dont own xmen this sucks
