Great video, very helpful. Are you able to do a video on accuracy of the Wave? I would even appreciate any comments you can provide if a video is not in the cards. I can’t find any (non Golfzon) info to compare accuracy of the Wave to other devices.

i have owned a few of these and let me cut to the chase: if you can afford it, the Bushnell is hands-down the best.

Very nice explanation. Some of those questions aren't so easy to answer! Do you happen to know what the 5 year costs would be on these (cost of device plus subscription fees)? Would definitely be helpful in making the most sound decision.

Very good video. I had a Mevo+ that I used indoors and outdoors. I personally didn't love the Mevo+ outside because while it is very portable it isn't terribly sturdy IMO, but for the price it certainly is a good value. Like a TM you need to have enough room behind you at a range which can be a problem. We build a home sim and went with trackman. While the subscriptions for software and hardware stink, the total solution is awesome and it is great for outdoor and indoor. You don't need stickers, and honestly don't need the RCT balls. The one huge plus for Bushnell that I don't think you mentioned is the how great it is to take to the course if you are riding in a cart. I think the big IF, is if you need to for indoor simulation, and as you mentioned do you need both left and right handed, and then how much room you have and the computing power you need.

I would have thought that one of the first questions after indoor vs outdoor use for indoor users is how much space is available? For tight spaces in homes or garages, it would seem that the Bushnell and SkyTrak might be the only options.

Great informative video! I really want to get the Bushnell launch Pro but I live in the UK and it’s regional locked. I’d get the basic package and GSpro. Can’t stomach the GC3 price. Currently have the OG SkyTrak and my sim won’t be built until late November but want to upgrade already 😂

I would think that the Wave unit would have more data points. How accurate are the numbers on the Wave unit compared to the Bushnell or Trackman?

Great breakdown. I went ST+ because I couldn’t justify the BLP subscription price points. I personally think they’re way out of bounds, but to each their own. I use my ST+ outdoors into a net and have virtually no issues (maybe 1 in 100 balls is a no read). I barely notice the delay at this point and use it in network mode with my iPad. Right now I have the play & improve but might move to just game improvement or eventually GSPro, but I need to take a break from big purchases for a bit, i.e. gaming laptop :)

I’m in the same camp as you. I currently hit into backyard net with a Garmin r10. Great little unit but it does miss quite a few shots and I am unable to use a big fan on hot days due to the Doppler radar. Since an unlocked Bushnell launch pro is over $7000, the greatly reduced subscription costs on the ST is very attractive. The only thing I’m concerned about with sky trak is reports of problems in full sun, and I’m not sure if I will run into the same interference problems with skytrak’s Doppler radar. Have you had any issues with full sun or radar Interference from motors?

Hmm. I just returned my mevo+ pro. Lots of data indeed, and accurate indoors. But had major wedge spin accuracy issues outdoors. Returned the device. Important to look at accuracy beyond carry… what about spin, aoa,… would be great to compare these on that level. Wave worse than mevo+?

I basically did this when deciding on a launch monitor. I ended up going with the ST+. I use it outdoors, I intend to use it indoors this winter, and I can use the free range and get nearly everything i need out of it. I'll probably end up getting GSpro at some point as well. I nearly bought the BLP but the subscription fees were just too much for me to stomach. Portability of the ST+ in the case is great too since it has a little handle. I needed a launch monitor that gave me relatively accurate numbers for carry, club path, face to path, and shot shape. ST+ does all of those and ultimately has a very smooth interface with (in my experience) almost nothing for lag. For a consumer product, its really hard to beat. If I were a coach, I'd go BLP for my situation. If anyone has a gripe about the lag, I found that using it in direct connection or wired in to a computer it will have near instant feedback. If you are using it in network mode, its got about a 1.5 second delay. Never bothered me Great video, not a bad product on the page.

I also agree, vrty little kag with usb or direct (using wifi of unit) connections. Disagree on anything that's behind you for outdoors. Unless you park your bag to guard it, people trip over them.

@@surxer I havent done it yet, but there is a 3rd party API that allows community members to make a way for the skytrak to work with GS pro. Apparently there is a discord community that helps with this and theres a youtube video out there that demonstrates how its done.

hey bud, i think a color thats not bright white for the matrix screen is easier on the eyes. a gray or a light green would work. soon as that screen came on it blinded the ish outta me lol

I'm so sad, I'm out of commission for a while with my elbow (bone spur) but I was loving the Bushnell. Hopefully I can get back out to Carrollwood soon.

If you're asking in terms of space requirements necessary to run them, they are basically the same, yes.

Big consideration. Skytrak let’s you play Sim E6 without a PC.

How much space does the two radar systems need to see the ball flight? I hit onto a net that's only a few feet away and I know some radar systems need to see a minimum distance of ball flight.

They need 8 feet in front. Mevo plus needs 8 behind. Wave needs 6.

why did the Mevo+ not make it into the indoor category? I see a lot of people using it indoors.

Can it be used indoors? Sure. Is it decent? Yes. Is it optimal, no. The optical-based systems are a better choice for purely indoor use.

Can anyone tell me if motors or fluorescent lights cause interference with Skytrak? I currently use a Garmin r10 and I am unable to use a fan to cool down.

Curious to know why you say you need an RCT ball for the best accuracy with the mevo+. Are you saying that any ball with the metallic dot is less accurate then the RCT ball?

Metal dots are effectively the same, so those can be used as well.

Curious why your decision tree eliminated the Mevo + if used exclusively indoors. I have it and only use it indoors and it works great. The only caveat is that you need a minimum of 16 feet (+18 feet is better). If you have that much room it works as well as the other 2 offered in that category. So I guess I’m saying it should be listed with an asterisk? Anyway love your channel.

Yes, most don't have the space for it, and while it works great indoors especially with RCT balls, the others make for a better dedicated indoor unit 9 times out of 10 IMO.

So torn between the Skytrak+ and BLP. This is everything I've gleaned from a lot of review video watching Skytrak+ +Better (and cheaper range), gives more feedback about optimal values and such, but is missing Angle of Attack +Bag mapping and Wedge Matrix ~Sometimes spin values seem slightly off but overall still damn close to BLP -Occasional mishits/no reads, seems like these are mitigated by keeping the ball as close to the laser as possible -Slightly more lag in USB or Direct Wifi than BLP ~Putting is meh, not bad not great +$500 less up front and potentially much less overtime if Bushnell/Foresight ever choose to lock GSPro behind the Gold Subscription BLP ++Gets nod on more consistent accuracy +Almost no lag - - Massive paywall for foresight range and foresight bagmapping (can use Basic sub and GSPro for Driving Range and Bag mapping for similar cost to Skytrak+ if already planning on getting GSPro) ~Gold Pay wall could in the future be applied to even have access to GSPro ~Slightly more cost upfront I feel like the native Skytrak range is very worth it but seems like the GSPro range is still quite good. $500 less up front is nice, potentially saving on subs is nice. BLP trusted accuracy and virtually no misreads or no reads is great. I guess if we knew for sure GSPro wouldn't get locked behind the Gold Sub, its BLP no questions asked.

Unless they changed something you should have a range with the BLP and a basic subscription. Also I don’t see GSPro getting locked behind a Gold subscription paywall…that’s just an internet rumor.

@@LetsPlayThru also just figured out you can get 20% off anything from Bushnell including the BLP by subscribing to The Golfers Journal. Needless to say I immediately went for it! After taxes was under 3k and the sub for a year was only $60!

A “most accurate” rating would have been nice. Most people will sacrifice things here and there for the launch monitor that provides the highest quality data.

That’s what I was getting at with the Skytrak+ vs BLP. Both great, but BLP has more data points there. In order of what I trust the most is say 1.BLP 2. Skytrak 3. Mevo+ 4. Wave

Gabe sorry if I get a bit long winded but had mine Plus for about 2 weeks now and this is my take on it. Pros like the driving range and all the different practice areas, like all the stats available. Cons It's a pain to get connected I always have to go to direct connect network mode won't work without a lot of trying. I don't think it is actually measuring much for one there's no way it's measuring club speed. I can hit maybe 20 - 9 irons and the club head speed is identical that's impossible not even pro's can keep their club head speed identical. Maybe it's me but the launch angle seems low when on the actual range or course I hit medium to high shots but on the plus they're low to medium. Yardages are short by maybe 8-10 yards. One thing Skytrak needs to publish what is actually measured and what is calculated right now I don't think very much is actually measured. I mean with 2 cameras and a radar unit almost all the stats should be measured. So I'm on the fence whether to return it or ride it out to see if they will update it to actually measure everything. When you tested it did you see any of the above or is it just me maybe a little ISS.

Hey there, For the connection issues, make sure you are using the cable they provided. I didn’t at first and it was a mistake. Also did you happen to upgrade to the latest firmware they rolled out last month? If you’ve done both and still having those issues, I’d probably look to exchange it for another unit. I found the distances to be very accurate on mine, so unfortunately I don’t have an answer as to why you might be getting shorter reads. Sometimes lemons do happen though, so it could just be a case of bad luck there. Agree on your point about publishing what’s measured directly vs calculated.

@@LetsPlayThru Thanks for the quick reply. It upgraded the software when I first turn it on. My connection issues are in the network mode. I have to connect direct to get it to work. If your getting distances right then it's probably me. They badly need to publish what they measure and what's calculated mays me think they're not measuring much. I do like the unit hopefully they will continue to upgrade. With a dual Doppler radar system and camera-based photometric system they should be able to measure almost every data point.

@@ThomasHoffDE You talking about the Skytrak plus? As far as the BLP I think in the near future they will lock out the API then stuck with gold package for over $600 a year. Plus the comparison reviews between Skytrak plus and BLP there's very little difference.

Update it was mostly me and the set up it's close to the distance and the direction seems spot on.

So, golfzon Wave is just for fun simulator, right? Because it only supports own golfzon app, but has a lag + subscription + less data + less 3rd party app etc. Right?

Not too much lag, and the subscription is actually pretty reasonable, but yes you’ll be limited to their software. Data points pretty robust but it doesn’t really go deep into things like graphs, charts or averages like the others. Def aimed as a simulator first.
