I’m currently going through this in my relationship. Explaining to my gf how her upbringing has affected our relationship. She’s been so spoiled, coddled and sheltered in a box/bubble it has affected her basic life decisions.

Thank you, Shridhar. This has been a very valuable video. My husband is a full blown covert narcissist. He was the golden child - totally pampered, raised feeling special and a latch key kid. This talk affirms my parenting style on being consistent with my teenage son's behaviors. My mottos are simple: Your moods cannot dictate your manners. You need not suppress, but express your unpleasant emotions in a healthy manner. Success is a hard earned privilege, not your right. Respect is unconditional. Thanks again!

Hi My child is of 10yrs he doesn't value the money or resources we provide, whenever we say NO to anything he wants, he accepts it and hardly argue to get it, but parallelly he drop interest in from his day to day activities such as studies, sports or friend circle. Sometimes we provide him to get him in normal mood. He is contented whatever he is, he is a bright child, but he himself says I don't want to perform good or get laurel, I just want fun in life that's it. How to motivate him ! His top priorities are Food & Netflix ! We offer him our best resources to motivate him but he doesn't value how we r spending on him our hard core efforts !

Nice video, but want to ask you what should we as a parent do when my child say that my friends have this goodies and I want it too, that time it becomes hard to let them understand the situation. Kids generally start crying or will make sad faces that my parents didn't buyed me the same thing which my other friends parents can buy. It could be any thing like throwing a lavish birthday party or buying any expensive school bag or even a pencil box. How to deal with a situation like this when there is comparison among friends

Yesssssss usually some fathers spoil kids by substituting their love care affection and above all their presence and warm embrace with expensive gifts luxuries or gadgets. 😠😡 Tz those kids who payback their parents with costly gadgets smartphones and stay at expensive old age homes in their old age! Remember parents nothing can substitute your love care affection presence and warm embrace.

Thank god I found this comment was looking for someone who disagrees I am a new mom and one thing I strongly believe is that loving your child unconditionally is what parenting is all about parents don’t buy them toys or branded clothes to get back love from them if parents genuinely practice honesty positivity and love for all it is enough to get their child understand and learn good habits

  • @shreyaram28

@@priyankaSaikiaMedhi right! My parents made me understand the value of an item. The choice of whether or not you should spend money on a certain thing shouldn't be the parents', but the child's. Make your child an empathetic, thoughtful child. I was given the liberty to choose whether I WANTED a thing, or, NEEDED a thing. This not only made me mindful of my parents' expenses but also made me understand the value of money and hard work which went into buying all that.

Loving and pampering someone with materialistic gift is far different thing.People hide their own emotional incapability to attach with their children through these materialistic gifts.Ofcourse if you afford then give these things too but don't give it so easily.Child grows mentally weak if you will never let them face some rejection.

Atleast he is being positive in his opinions, experienced or not. But whatever he said was the fact. We the parents fulfill our kids all ingenuine demands first and later on crib that our children are getting spoiled ... disrespecting us ..throws tantrums when asked to study and a lot more. There are some times when we have to firmly say no and times when we need to say ... " You must do that" , especially to kids of young age which are the foundation years of child's development. I am a parent and a teacher too. I have seen umpteen of such cases where pampered kids do very bad in academics because their parents are extremely linient and let the child do what they want to. Sridhar sir, I have watched your so many videos and really learnt a lot from them.
