Anne Boleyan is the mother of Queen Elizabeth I. She agreed to be beheaded so her daughter wouldn't lose the throne and thanks to that we had one of the greatest monarchs in history.

This isn’t exactly what happened. But it’s Anne Boleyn, the second wife - the one that he was cheating with in the song “No Way”. The real Anne Boleyn was a high ranking personal servant to the queen of France and when she came to England she took the same position with queen Catherine (Henry’s wife at the time). Henry needed an heir and Catherine gave him 1 daughter and 5 miscarriages, so he turned his attention toward Anne. Based on historical records, I’d say her personality in the animatic is actually pretty accurate and she was the life of the party, adored by everyone - until she replaced queen Catherine, at which point she gained the reputation of being a seductress (presumably seducing the king, although whether she actually did attempt to seduce the king or she just didn’t run far enough away is unclear - he tried to sleep with her, she ran off to her father’s home for a few months, Henry called her back with his incessant love letters, then he tried to sleep with her and she ran off to her father’s - rinse and repeat until he broke away from the Vatican, kicked out his wife, and named Anne the new queen). He did cheat on her and she was pissed (multiple recorded instances of her losing her shit on one of his other women) but she never cheated on him. She was too smart for that. Her crime was that, like queen Catherine before her, she gave birth to 1 daughter, then had 3 miscarriages. So he had to get rid of her in order to marry someone who could give him a male heir. She refused annulment, so he secretly arrested her favorite musician and tortured him until he “confessed” to having slept with Anne while she was married to Henry. She already had the reputation of a seductress, so that was really all it took to get her deemed guilty and sentenced to… well it was burning alive first, but he changed it to beheading and even brought in a master swordsman to do it, since that was more honorable and less potentially painful than a typical executioner. When Anne showed up on her execution day, she was recorded to have been extremely happy “as though she didn’t realize she was about to die” and she gave a speech that didn’t admit any guilt, but praised the king and wished him a long life right before they removed her head. I don’t know why she was so amicable, but someone else seems to have commented that she agreed to be beheaded in exchange for keeping her daughter included in the family line, so maybe that had something to do with it.

yes it's true story :) You watched "ex-wives" and there were all the wives of Henry VIII introducing themselves - "Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived" - in that order, that's how the individual wives ended. Overall, it's a very interesting story... The guy (the king) wanted so much to "get" Anne Boleyn, but she didn't want to agree to anything without getting married, and the pope didn't want to give a divorce, so Henry changed the entire country from Catholic to the Anglican Church, where Anyone the king allowed could get devorc... and he allowed himself xD. next wives are: III Jane Seymour IV Anne of Cleves V Catherine Howard VI Catherine Parr

There are two other great songs in Six that I enjoy. The first is Get Down, the story of Anne of Cleves. Try the live version with Brittany Mack, she owns that role! The other is very poppy and fun, but if you listen to the lyrics, you'll be deeply disturbed. The story is of Katherine Howard who was apparently used by several men in her life starting when she was young (think early teens!).
