This is Catherine of Aragon - King Henry’s first wife. She was princess of Spain and was supposed to marry Henry’s older brother, but he was sick when they got married and he died shortly after. She was basically imprisoned for about 7 years while the fathers argued over the dowry money, but it was settled when everyone agreed that she would marry Henry - the new heir to the throne. After 20 or so years of marriage, she gave him 1 daughter and 5 miscarriages. He decided that it was because God was mad that he married his brother’s ex-wife and thus cursed him to have no heir as long as he was married to her. So in order to get his heir, he had to find a way to annul the marriage so he could marry a woman who could give him a son. Hence the song: “No Way”. Not that she had a choice by the end of it, but she REALLY put up a good fight. Henry had to literally break his entire country away from the Vatican in order to get rid of her, and even then the common folk still treated her as though she was the queen until the day she died (cancer), so she was pretty amazing.

That song is next one from "Six the Musical" (You watched "Ex-wives" and this is first wife Henry VIII. And yes, this story it's historical, and Henry VIII was faumous becouse he has 6 wives, and he broked England form Vatican, he created new Church because Pope didn't want give him devorce.

Katherine of Aragon…my favorite from this musical is definitely Katherine Howard…that poor girl never had a chance This whole musical is so well done!

I always thought that Henry VIII and his wives were kind of common knowledge. The divorce from Catherine created the Church of England and the conflict that followed, his two daughters Elizabeth vs Bloody Mary conflict etc... If you are curious there's many films and series about this. The series "Tudors" is one of them.
