Don’t Know What You Want? DO THIS! (How to Know What You Want in 3 Steps)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

“What do I want?? I don’t know what I want! I don’t even know what’s for dinner!” ← Sound familiar? Watch this video for a 3 part exercise to learn how to know what you want, how to know what you want FIRST (in case you have lots of ideas), and your first steps to making it happen. Because if you want to figure out how to change your life, it starts with knowing what you want your life to actually be.

IMPORTANT:
This is not a one-time practice. Once will get you started, but just like you need to constantly adjust the steering wheel to stay on the road, learning how to know what you want in life or your goals requires the same thing. Come back to this exercise anytime you start to feel like you’re off track again (even if that’s daily to begin with!).

P.S. I remember being there. “What do I want to do with my life, what do I want to do for a living? I know what I DON’T want...it’s just that I don’t know what I want to DO.” Then I did this practice. It’s not a magic bullet. This is great! I spent most of my 10 year marriage focusing on his goals and his wants that now that we're getting divorced...I'm stuck figuring out what I want😆 It's a bit scary and overwhelming but extremely exciting to be able to find my own goals and work towards them. This helped point me in the right direction. Thank you!!

Don't we all love those "waaaay to simple to be true" tools that become alive & magical when implemented? Thank you for this video, Tara! I actually have a family member, who has been stuck in the "what do I REALLY want" mode for years! News flash: this is NOT only an issue of those who are stagnating or struggling but also of those who are seemingly fine, have a career, make money, etc. It is just compounded with guilt they get mirrored back when they dare to bring this up. "What else do you want, what the heck are you complaining about, you are all set..." is a summary of reactions they get. Lately, a spiritual book has offered the solution that if you do not know what you want (hence what to focus on to manifest it) then focus on wanting to know what you want. :) Until this video, this was the most pragmatic advice I have seen. But not anymore! Here you are, with this awesome process! Thank you so much!!

0:36 beautifully said. I remember receiving simple advice from psychologists during my time with a depressive episode. At the time I shrugged it off, I yearned for a more complicated and specific set of answers that were catered to me. But now being out of that depression, and reflecting on that simple advice, I can now appreciate the beauty in its simplicity. And that the application does actually go a really long way. Like and sub just for pointing that out. Thank you

I really loved this video and it gave me so many ideas to act upon. At the same time, i found myself putting stuff towards the end that I feel I don't have much control on, for example I put: "I don't like to put so much work into something and get zero results". How would write the opposite of that? I can always put in work but sometimes the result doesn't always come as I can't control it,so it's a tricky one. I hope this makes sense.

I hear you. I’ve felt this at one point in life too. Nothing by felt possible or realistic or even that exciting. But I’ve found over time that those experiences can change too. With time and experimentation I found my dharma (calling/duty in life) and am passionate, motivated, and clear. Even the things I have now that I wanted don’t just leave me wanting more. They leave me enjoying what I have. So hang in there. Keep chipping away at it. It’s an “over time” thing not an “overnight” thing. You can get there. But unfortunately none of us get to rush the process. ❤️
