You can lift with your back but you have to brace properly and have your back straight. It's how deadlift is performed.

Actually knew a guy in college like that. Kept trying to pick fights with people then try to convince others he was right so he could exclude people he didn’t like and basically act like a king of the social circle...didn’t really work when he alienated everyone in that circle and they realised he was full of it

I actually had a co-worker who was exactly like that and one time he told all of us who worked there the reason he doesn't wash his hands after going to the washroom is because his dick is cleaner than his hands, so why should he wash his hands after touching his dick? Needless to say, we could not win the argument and that he public declared he never washes his hands. And that's only one scenario. Working with him was a nightmare...lol.

@Bhavani Gopalkrishna I'd say the easiest way to know whether you should use 'sam and I' or 'sam and me' is pretend you were going to talk in singular tense. E.g. you say "he hung out with me" and not "he hung out with I". "I think this is better" hence "Sam and I think this is better", not "sam and me think this is better". does this make sense?

This reminds me of when we were peer-reviewing some hand-written assignment in middle school, and the student reviewing my work thought I didn't know to capitalize the first letter in a sentence. That person didn't know that a cursive capital ''A'' often looks like a larger lower case ''a''.

It reminds me of when I worked at a call center and in training they had the class listen to eachother's calls and rate them as if they were the caller. I had worked at call centers for years by this point and had always gotten great scores especially for customer service. They made on going jokes about how they could tell the call was mine instantly because I had a happy customer service voice. Then on one call a lady had asked me back to back questions without letting me answer and that had gotten me flustered. I stammered over my words, when responding, this seemed obvious to me as I listened but One person said it sounded like I was getting snippy with the customer and the rest of the class started agreeing with them. When I was surprised and told them I was actually flustered at the moment they referred to they all started saying I was getting defensive and should take constructive criticism. I was like, this is about improvement for all of us. If I'm to learn that people may misperceive my tone, then you all should also learn that you might be misperceiving the customers tone at times too. So discussing is important. I'm not being defensive, I'm explaining what really happened on the call. And they didn't get it at all. I realized in that moment the exercise was pointless and when I got out of training and told my supervisor she was shocked that we had listened to eachother's calls and didn't see how it would Be beneficial. 🤷‍♀️

When you say “and me” and someone incorrectly corrects you by saying “and I”.

@@rhiannonm6022 It depends on the sentence but it can be incorrect. It just has to still make sense if you take the other person out of it. For instance, "Tyler and I like donuts" would be right because if you took Tyler out of it, it would still make sense. The same is true for the sentence, "It was Tyler and me. We broke that." If you changed it to I, the sentence wouldn't make sense.

From society's point of view, Dr. Frankenstein is the villain, and the monster, named aptly "monster" or "adam" (as in the first created man), were both the villians. The Dr. being the lead honcho, and the monster following suit.

Language constantly is evolving There is no right or wrong way as long as information is still conveyed in an understandable and agreed upon manner No one uses thou or whom much anymore and words such as singed, drived, and ringed are no longer considered correct Favourite and favorite or realise and realize are both equally correct and new phrases or slang terms are constantly being added to the vernacular
