This video was shared to illustrate some of the dynamic tests carried out (TUV Nord) for the demanding load containment standard EN 12642-XL
The footage shows tests for standard pillarless curtainsiders, curtainsided double decks and urban curtainsded trailers.
All tests were done using unstable unrestrained loads at maximum payload capacity.
Front bulkhead must withstand 0.8G whilst sides and rear must be able to withstand 0.5G.
In the UK, EN 12642-XL is only compliant if a positive fit is achieved.
