Between the Hamadryad and the Keledones LA Arco forts can be hellishly difficult to take. Also, what you didn't consider about the Brass Bull is that in addition to 25 natural prot it also has resistance to all forms of physical damage. If the enemy doesn't bring a specific counter, they're NOT killing it. You can also take them underwater which is all kinds of hilarious because most of R'lyeh's arsenal will just bounce off it harmlessly.

I have to defend the orphic mystic a little bit: - The fire death crosspath gets you skulls of fire which means that instead of being limited on F2 on mystics, you can get all the way to elemental royalty by summoning flame spirits (F3) to make the flame helmet. - They are also your only D2 which is required for national death summons, and also only E/D crosspath for the hound of twilight. - Only off-cap foul vapours - The spellsinger tag makes them awesome for casting swarm. Better than the priestesses. - Only E/N crosspath across the whole nation, can also be E1N2 for Strength of Gaia and all big nature spells on a spellsinger. Earth/Astral random works for this too. - Only W/D crosspath without 10% randoms (although you do get a unique W/D priestess from an event who kinda has to stay at the cap) - Astral randoms can support sibyls in communions with sometimes water and always death/nature. No need to get regular mystics involved. Heck, they can be communion slaves for regular mystics and sibyls too. - Their rhapsodies I'm not sure how effective they are but you can scare off undead (or just straight up kill them) as well as heal and REINVIGORATE your communion mages with literally all orphic mystics. Those spells really deserve testing, I haven't gotten around to using them enough yet. It's not a mage I'd recruit more than the regular mystic, but there's definitely a ton of randoms I'd want at least one of floating around. They aren't bad at researching either. The worst of them will be more efficient than the worst mystics, considering they are cheaper. Even getting just one out of those two 50% randoms can give them an important role in combat or forging. Especially the sorcery randoms.

The Ker summon are so fuckin amazing btw. Always use them if you can, having an ethereal, invisible (-10 attack against), double attacking 14/14 att/Def... flying fear machine is lethal to a back line.

@@LucidTactics The God of the Underworld Pretender (Hades) also has it with his "Magic Helmet" and can be potentially kitted out to be an unhittable thug which is a possibility. Not many units have the OP skill invisible since it's an effective negation of "Harassed Penalty"

The reason that the peltast is not a slave is because peltast is just a type of troop, not a specific unit. Even EA Arco has peltasts. The ones Mekone gets have slave because they are helots.

Yes--peltast refers to a shield (called a pelta), not a social class. In the ancient world it was normal for soldiers to be classified based on the shields they used (e.g. hoplite refers to a heavy circular shield). A pelta was a light crescent-shaped shield and it was usually carried by skirmishers/light infantry carrying javelins.

LA arco seems like a MA nation to me playing in the LA. The few times ive seen them played they have been rolled over by xbows with flaming arrows.

"You tell them, "everything is going to be okay". I feel like that would be lying.

also the neokorus do to there cost, healer, general presision, also make great bearers for crafted bows with a weapons bless.

Yep, the holy firing squad approach. Especially fun with Trueshot Longbows (attack rear and snipe some mages) and Bows of War (suddenly the game has actual field artillery).

Hi, first off really nice videos and overall high quality channel. I always like hearing your opinions on a nation or a particular game you're playing. I'd like to hear your advice, and knowldge of the game, on a strategy I tried recently. I was playing LA Arcos and to put it simply I was buffing astral mages and Mind Hunting like there's no tomorrow, with the option of having national healers to cure feebleminded 'hunters'. I was quite pleased with the result, but I thought of adding even more of a punch to it : - do you know if Arcane Finesse works on the strategy map ? Even if it is a mere +1, it could be the difference that put the Soul Slay up there in the thug killing business for example. Also relevant then : - do you think it's a viable strategy, or too cute to really matter in the long run ? Thanks for your input, it would be quite appreciated given how you are a waaay much more experienced player than my friends or I.

At least one hero has air 1. Orokestes gets astral 2 and 1 in each element. Also, consider rushing thaumaturgy 4 to berserk your elephants.

Wouldn't attack skill be a great bless for heart companions? Not only does it make you hit more, it buffs their repel. I could see f6 e6 for attack skill and strength being really good. You could even add blood surge, because they would be killing more units then normal

Neokoros can't cast Rhapsody of Life, sadly. It can only be cast by spellsingers, which they are not.

If the keledone don't move do you have to put a lab outside to protect the pd?

Elephants are more likely to be hit in the head despite their size. I think it says it when you click on the "size" attribute.

Also, patch 5.48 added head protection on the barding. So it doesn't even matter (except that they still don't really want to be hit on the head)

what were the commanders in the test game? I've not seen them before.
