It's good drama. Will the big players square up for more fights or get bogged down with raids? Will atlantis figure out more vital game mechanics in time to take on some powerful land forces? Will Caelum ever return to power? Will Hinnom do anything with their giants? Will Rus survive the war with Hinnom? Will Ermor be able to put a stop to Hellheims antics? Find out next time on Andromeda multiplayer.

The Melqart that died also wasn't scripted to buff himself. He was casting incinerate a couple of times.

Ice Mist Scimitar is really great for handling thug/SCs without cold resist in the same vein as the axe of hate.

It seems like Atlantis is in a Cold War with Helhiem, and soon their both just going to be patrolling armies on each others borders wasting mage turns and gold. I don't see it ending unless Atlantis attacks, as Helhiem is in no shape to be going underwater while being attacked by multiple land nations. Just by sitting that army there Atlantis is draining resources from Helheim, although I doubt Helheim will spend 1/2 the gold and research as Atlantis is. Atlantis will never know how many are patrolling for Helheim and that gives him an advantage.

The issue for Atlantis is he's patrolling right next to Hellheims capital, so hellheim doesn't need to patrol his mages, where atlantis does. Losing precious mage research and other stuff. Another problem is as noted in the video, his army is starving, it's too big. If he wanted to posture he could just patrol along the entire Hellheim coastline. There's no way hellheim can cover every single province of potential attack without seriously diluting his forces. But, just newbie player things. He probably feels safer stacking everyone into one big pile. I'm not sure he's even aware of just how difficult it is for hellheim to attack him underwater. It's certainly a possibility given the sheer size of their territory and gem income but he's still a long ways off doing a proper invasion anytime soon. All those nitpicks aside, just having atlantis camping outside hellheims capital does have one big advantage. It forces them to keep units nearby, doing absolutely nothing. Atlantis is if nothing else, distracting one of the most powerful players and forcing him to keep at least some of his powerful forces just on patrol duty.

Really interested in the upcoming battles between Hinnom and Rus. Also curious as to what Helheim will start doing.

I fully expect hinnom to immediately run away after taking 5 casualties. He's very skittish in this game and hasn't been involved in a proper war yet. Just opportunistic sniping of territory and like 1 raid or so from Rus. It's cost him so far. An obliterated Sauromatia, allowing them to be eaten by Ermor and then Hellheim in quick succession. A weakened caelum, once an ally now rather weakened. If he planned to invade Caelum I might understand this but he hasn't, he's just left his ally hanging out to dry. He gained some good territory but now he has no effective allies to call on. Caelum is likely not looking at Hinnom with much respect given their complete lack of support in their recent war. So now Hinnom will have to deal with a very powerful hellheim at some point in future and the Rus largely by himself. He's playing it so safe he's making it dangerous. By allowing his opponents to continually build up their forces and mage support he allows his enemies to acquire more anti-giant tech and units. Giants are most scary in the early game when no one really has a proper answer for them except sheer numbers. Mage research in it's infancy is very ineffective vs giants. Sure he has his own research which is doing very well for buffing his giants but. It's so easy to skirt around his big slow lumbering armies. And with his territory being rather large it's very easy for Rus to send out a few raids that never get answered. At this stage in the game, Rus has a lot of good tools at his disposal and more forces available to answer those giants as if they were like any other army. And enough strong sacreds to just take most of the brunt of the giants power out from them. Sure hinnom has got a massive amount of mages which is great, but all he's managed so far with them is overkitting some thugs who were scripted to cast too many spells and gear that wasn't able to handle a proper force. He could easily have kept those thugs with an army for a bit of support. Just stick a vine bow on them and let them pew pew away at the back and they can protect the more vulnerable casters in the back line. Or just have them cast a few spells and then set them to stay at the back of the army as a reserve. All the while he's screwing around with Rus, we're at what. Turn 38? Hellheim has gone totally unchecked by Hinnom they're going to be tough to take on if he keeps stalling. Get a frikken move on hinnom. Go for the Rus capital and just wipe them off the map, then assist caelum or wipe them out afterward. Or vice versa whatever works. But I wish they would do something.

@@Madhattersinjeans I can agree that they are probably playing overly cautious, but I think Hinnom is more in control at this point than anyone else beside Helheim. But yeah, a bit more decisive action could definitely help Hinnom.
