You have to have context on what they mean and not just look at the age numbers at face value. Jon Jones was a seasoned champion for 3 full years before Dominick Reyes even had his first MMA fight. they might be 2 years apart in reality but they're closer to 8-10 years apart in terms of fight mileage and experience.

The biggest problem with this fight was it was already determined before it began!!!

M G I don’t think so. Honestly, and I had it 3-2 for Reyes, I’m not that upset w the decision because Jones is the Champ and it was very close. That and Reyes last 2 rounds were not that good. I’ve seen so many decisions much worse than this, and I’ve always believed that if you are gonna beat the champ, ya gotta BEAT the champ...no questions at all! Either way, I do think it was that close. Yeah, the stats were all over the screen and everyone is looking for the upset, but Jones did dictate the entire fight and for moments Reyes looked like he was gonna topple over from exhaustion. BUT the real story is that Jones last 2 fights have been VERY unimpressive! Limited takedowns and Jones is not at his best upright. He just isn’t. He better continue to work and evolve or he will get beat! And soon!

Sean Stewart Reyes last two rounds weren’t good? Stuffed every takedown attempt, didn’t get caught with anything and was throwing hammers at Jones’ face. The most damage done each round was done to Jons face, legs, and body

Doesn't matter who backed up or who pressed the most action Reyes clearly out struck jones in Rounds 1-3 and Jones clearly out struck Reyes Rounds 4 and 5 Reyes should have won by a Razor thin Round 2 victory. However Reyes fucked up by not being doing anything in rounds 4 or 5 and left it in the judges hands.

It was that close of a fight. The 3rd round was up for grabs. I'm not a ufc expert but I would think if it's that close the judges are going to lean towards the champ almost always and no not out of favoritism, but to become the champ I feel like you REALLY gotta out fight the champ when it comes to this sport. Reyes earned everyone's respect but it just wasnt enough to uncrown the king

@@terrencemcdaniel6605 You can't. This isn't boxing. Trust me, you can't win 3 rounds and then run away for 2 rounds. Even Dana white said this is what cost him the fight, when he didn't have to. He could have kept going at the same pace and won convincingly carrying his momentum into those later rounds. The championship rounds are very important, these are the round where you define yourself as the champ or dominant fighter. This isn't boxing you can't score some points and wait for the timer to run out for 2 rounds with the other guy chasing you back and forth trying to engage. That looks terrible. Oh that's the champanion, lol. You gotta fight in there, not survive

Reyes won by running? Reyes held his own for 2 rounds, definitely rd 1 and maybe 3. He should've stayed in Jones face but the last 2 rounds he was gassed and Jones kept the pressure on him.

I definitely don't agree, it was a close fight but I had Jones winning just like the judge's... Alex gustavsson came way closer to beat Jones in there first fight and Jones got that decision as well ..you really have to a decisive victory to get decision over the champ...Reyes definitely had rounds 1 and 2 but that's about it

Jones sells a lot of tickets for pay per views. I’m sure jones gave a percentage of commission to Dana and his company men as a bribe. There needs to be more ticket drawers other than Jones for the fighting to be fair.

The 49/46 aint that crazy reyes had 1 good min in 1st 3 rounds but was constantly under attack jons experience cardio and generalship i give reyes prob 5 min of a 25 min fight you cannot take the champs belt running simple if you feel differently to that maybe UFC isnt the sport for you if it was 100 metre sprint reyes would have won

The UFC corners should be able to challenge the judges decision. Like you can challenge the Ref in football.

Cυlтυяє khabib won't give him a rematch anyway he's said it numerous times in interviews that he don't deserve one (he even turned down 100mill from Saudi Arabia to make it happen)

I agree with one thing he said. You can’t fight the 1st half then be complacent the 2nd half and think you’re going to beat the champ. Those late rounds are going to be fresh on the judges’ minds.

There are many technical angles when it comes to scoring an MMA fight, this is not your typical standup combat sport. Such octagon control, clinch control, takedowns, significant strikes, missing attempts, engaging performance, etc. I got Jones 2, 4 and 5. But this is definitively the first time I see Jones in a dangerous spot, a close fight for sure the score should it be close almost to the point of draw and will love to see a rematch.

I bet you could outland him 100-1 and if it went to the judges he’d still get the UD

This rematch would be a super fight. Uncle Chael keeps saying JJ’s only problem is he doesn’t loose. If this was a fix UFC wouldn’t burry an up and coming star for one who’s aging out scoring it close would create a better story arch. If this was fix the company botched it leading me to believe it wasn’t a set up just an unpopular decision.

If he going to blame the location on bad judges then quit having fights at these places. Make judges watch old fights and if they dont score it with the right person winning fire them and start over.
