Dolly Parton: ‘Run, Rose, Run,’ Knowing Your Worth, and Uncompromising Values | Apple Music

Музыка

Country legend, Dolly Parton sits down with Kelleigh Bannen to provide wisdom from her 60+ years of experience of being a woman in the music industry. For Dolly, it has always been about knowing her worth, relying on strong faith, and holding tightly to her values. Dolly’s inner confidence allowed her the freedom to embrace her femininity and that confidence has been her guiding force throughout her illustrious career. Dolly Parton talks about her album ‘Run, Rose, Run,’ which was inspired by the novel she co-wrote alongside James Patterson. At the end of the interview Dolly is joined by country stars Lauren Alaina, Tiera and Callie Twisselman who ask her questions about fame, fashion and female power. ‘My desire is always greater than my fear’. What a great statement. That happened to me when I was going through my apprenticeship which was predominantly male.

OMG I love Dolly so much, she has always been such an inspiration to me. I love the way she speaks about always having a connection with spirituality and God because that's been lost a lot lately. I also love the fact that she is really the representation of being true to yourself, to your family, to God and to people, always keeping in mind the importance of being humble, kind and grateful regardless of the success we could have.

I always wonder if religious people actually hear God talking to them. I am not religious at all but hearing Dolly talking about Him and saying he’ll tell her when to stop and everything.. really makes me wonder. I truly love this woman and everything she stands for! ❤️

You make a great point. Dolly herself says she is spiritual and not religious. So many get the two mixed up. Religious people are preoccupied with artifice, dogma, and rituals of various religions. Spiritual people focus on living in a way they fell draws them closer to whatever supreme power they believe in. Hearing God's voice - for me - is like an inner knowing you feel get from Him. It may not make much sense, but it's the only way I can explain it. Dolly is a rare example of a super-successful person who lives her faith.

Please! Why the filter so heavy on her face? I love seeing people and their aging signs. People shouldn't be scared of looking old. People should only be scared of acting old. Which is very different because that is withing us, our souls, our spirit, and our energy. Nothing more amazing than to see people with signs of time on their skin, but to see them so alive inside and active, and full of desire to keep persuing dreams.
