DK actually has a voice that can differentiate him in the sea of singers out there. I can't even explain how it nicely. But his voice contains really strong of fresh, energetic, deep, soulful, and a lot more. Omg i can't really interpret how rare his voice is. His tone voice is really different from others ballad singer.

I always ending up finding my bias in the overlooked but incredible singers in groups. My ult is SHINee’s Onew, and Seokmin gives me his vibes in a way. Easily overlooked in a group, but if you ARE looking at him, he’s hysterical. Plus, vocals that is literally the voice of the gods. The amount of debt I would go into to hear a Seokmin/Onew duet is astronomical

Booseok, but DK in particular, will always take my breath away in Don't listen in secret

You can literally see how he loves to sing

it is not just us, carats, i repeat, it isn't just us, his members are also repeatedly surprised at how much this man child can do with his voice

dk was already good at singing, but ever since he was cast for the Xcalibur musical, his singing technique improved so much..... musical theater and its rigorous singing standards had a good effect on dokyeom's voice

What you said in this video when he was singing rewind on how he could find melody easily was so accurate. I’ve noticed this about DK and he seems to have an innate sense of music where he could find a nice melody quite easily. First exhibit is the rewind video. Second time is when he was singing to a Chinese song Jun was playing and he somehow sang the correct melody, like what? And third when they were doing the GoSe intro, you can see that DK contributed to a lot to the melody making of both the opening and ending. Not to mention he also made the point choreo too. What I want to say is DK talented.

yeah i agree!! you listed really good examples as well. him coming up with the melody for the opening of gose SO spontaneously, yet it matched the instrumentals so well. idk if it's just me, but i think he has potential in composing (mostly in writing the melody line) bc from what we've seen, dk can come up with CATCHY melodies pretty much instantly

agreed! he has great intuition!! (probly also honed with years of practice!) and when he does what feels good naturally and sings naturally, it works really well :)

Back in 17PROJECT days, DK doesn't get enough compliments from the judges. But now, his voice is one of the most powerful in music industry. Dk deserves everything in the world. He's the most precious gem.

I love when the members just stare at him when he sings ❤️ they see him and listen to him everyday but he still leaves them awestruck sometimes. Also when they tell him to “do the thing, sing the thing” for harmonies and high notes 😂

you know this man was born to sing.

It still hurts me to remember what was said to him before in Seventeen Project. That he didn't "sound" like a main vocalist. My heart clenches everytime but when I hear how he has improved I am somehow so proud of him on not only how he grew as a vocalist but also face such obstacles and overcome them in order to improve. 🥺❤️😭

First he will lure you with his voice, and then you'll find out about his personality and how big of a sunshine he is and next thing you know, there's no turning back anymore. You've fallen into the rabbit hole. DK literally deserves the world. His range, his resonance is like no other. I could go on all day about his high notes but have you heard his lower register????? It's just... Divine. I'm saying this with my whole chest he's one of the best singers of his generation.

I was downright horrified. His voice is my favorite l had ever heard. And his personality did not match. He is the greatest treasure. The way he says he likes pizza before saying hi my name is dokyeom. Literally takes my breath away in so many ways; in every way, there is no one like him. All SVT, their music, Carat, just the whole experience is like that, down to their kind and good attitudes. So not only is his voice my favorite in the world so is his personality my type. The biggest bias killer in the world. Probably my bias but I onlu became a Carat starting today, although i knew about them since seventeen tv and project (i really liked nuest, too). I kind of got out of my kpop obsession for years but others who had also gotten out of kpop BECAME Carat and now I couldnt hold out any longer and not be a Carat. Seventeen is such an important, wonderful group.

I don't know if you really hate Seungkwan or not But please don't spread hate on him cause both are svt main vocalists and both are great in their own way I personally like dk's vocals more cause it's my type and taste but that doesn't mean Seungkwan has bad vocals or is less than dk both are great and mainly Bros... am i the only one who is obsessed with dk making up lyrics to random melodies literally spontaneous? like i remember that one episode where they were in the process of creating the logo song for going seventeen and the christmas going seventeen little segment where they have to sing a song with a word that was given to them and dk was creating random songs with jeonghan. I JUST LOVE SEEING THIS MAN BRING OUT HIS TALENT AND CREATIVITY ALL AT ONCE

Just to add, in 2019, that's when he started his musical so it is expected that he is really tired as SVT had a lot of promotions that time, and even preparing for Ode to you, and yet he was still able to fill in Seungkwan's lines in KCON and was able to perform LIVE.

I agree tho, he is one of the most reliable in singing live because he simply use the right technique... everytime I listen to him, I won't even worry he would crack, because he can hit everything with ease. It's the same vibe I get from Apink Eunji, both has this classical feeling to their voices.

He’s literally one of the best vocalists in Kpop (maybe the best of third and fourth gen with some of the exo guys) and also one of the most underrated and is so sad

To be honest, I've only gotten into seventeen this year and that tiktok clip of him singing in killing voice (dingo) was the one that made me sit and actually listen to them instead of just watching variety shows starring them. What a vocal stunner DK is to be honest, it's so crazy how I don't hear enough of people boasting about his voice. Like I can't even explain it, not only his voice sound good, he uses different kind of techniques that I don't see enough and his voice is so clear? It's like he can make his voice louder without stressing his throat too much? I experienced a few months of vocal lessons for fun before, and some singers like my teacher are always able to make their voice so clear and loud without it looking hard, and to be honest I don't see that a lot in kpop so seeing DK doing it just amazed me so much :'))

Dk's voice is really in another level you can feel the emotion the sincerity when he is singing. He sings with all of his heart and soul it is sumn that makes him different and everything that comes out from his mouth is so beautiful:")

For me, it's the super eye catching main dancers like Hyunjin, Momo, Hoshi and Niki DK didn't catch my eye at first but I fell in love with his vocals(he's a rare gem) and now he's my second bias

i don’t think i’ll ever be able to put into words how absolutely AMAZING and TALENTED seokmin is, not only in his voice, but his musical intelligence (i forgot the correct word!) is also amazing. including the examples in the video, there was also one time when jun was playing piano and dokyeom was freestyling along with it, but he managed to sing the CORRECT melody of the song. i know this is something simple that many people can do, even i can do it, but omfg it’s still so baffling. i’ve never held this much love and amazement for someone i’ve never met before lol

I've heard a lot of Kpop singers and belters but DK's voice easily overtakes some of them. It's clear and crisp with a wide range.
