DK's voice is the first k-pop male idol's voice i fall in love with because it's so clear and strong, a tone different from others I've heard, it's also versatile and I love how it pierces through my ears when I listen to him sing (in a good way) and also listening to his singing feels like he presents his voice as it is,like not trying to perfect his vocals but singing the way his voice naturally is

Omg exactly!! I've been into kpop for not that long (almost a year) and I've heard a lot of different groups and even though I really appreciate each and every one I listened to, I never seemed to find THE perfect voice for me and luckily I found it when I got into Seventeen with DK and he's my favorite singer of all kpop and one of my favorites in pop in general 😵‍💫

No he is, it's because mostly it's list of main vocalist and since seungkwan is a little better(like very small gap) so he tends to be in the list, bot they're both amazing and it's really impressive 😭😭❤️❤️

Dk's voice in the opening of "Same Dream, Same Mind, Same Night" is just another level

When I heard DK sing for the first time, my jaw dropped. I found going seventeen and then listened to their killing voice, and I was not expecting one of the funniest members to also have such an amazing voice. I had heard seungkwan before, but dang DK was amazing. Immediately started falling in love with all of their music. Really all of the members are soooooo talented, I didn't expect a group who also spends so much time making variety content and who is known as the most synchronized kpop group to also somehow have found time for so much vocal training.

Coming from an non carat (I do know of svt they're one of the best bg's of this generation no doubt) , I heard DK's part in HOT and wow was I impressed , his part got my attention the most so I had to know who he was . Then I watched him in killing voice , man CAN SING. definitely one of the best kpop voices out there . The way he changes notes and how the high notes sound pleasing to the ear (not like screaming at all) is so impressive. I really like this guy I became his fan !!

I've been listening to lots of KPop vocals and gotta admit that DK's voice is among the most stable voices that I've heard, and I enjoy his voice the best. Big voices like Chen and Changmin, also my favorites, are a bit too sharp. DK, despite his super wide range, has a warmer and softer quality. Very good and smooth transition across registers, stable breathing support in all situations even when he's dancing, and the diversed emotions that he can convey -- all convince me that he's the best voice in Kpop industry. I also love DO's voice, but it's another story.

Cannot agree more! DK's voice is powerful and stable hitting those wide range notes easily while performing live, yet very sweet, soft and super delicate! I usually have a hard time listening to Kpop's overused high notes as some vocalists sound a bit jarring (both bg+gg). DK's vocal is one of the few that's very soothing and easy to listen to for me.

DK sings while smiling a lot and also connecting with the fans. That's why there's a warmth you can feel.

I remember AKMU Suhyun saying that she wants to be a singer to whom singing comes naturally as if like she is talking. And whenever I look at DK I can feel it. He has become so natural with music, and singing has become natural for him. The love for music is evident in him, even a veteran ballad Korean singer admired and complimented him by saying that he could see that DK loves singing. And the thing you mentioned at the end of video about him crying during pre-debut days. I also remember vividly that in 17 Project, when sunbaes or people who were judging SVT praised Seungkwan for his vocals although DK was the official main vocalist then. And, both DK and Seungkwan felt bad; DK for him not able to prove himself as main vocalist for group and Seungkwan for DK not being praised as hyung and as main vocalist. Seriously, they already won my hearts then.

I’ve been a kpop fan since 2009 and I can wholeheartedly say that DK’s voice is my favorite. The way he sings is so effortless and so versatile. The high notes are so pleasant, NOT PAINFUL AT ALL. It can make you think that some are just born with it.

Yeah he does make it seem so effortless and easy. But he does work hard to get this level of vocals today. During pre-debut he cried so hard and was always insecure with his voice. He thought he didn't stand out enough. Maybe he did already have the talents but over time he gained more confidence and finally managed to land a spot in a prestigious musical as a lead 😭

10:17 it's ironic because that exact part in don't wanna cry made his voice stand out amongst the various kpop voices I'd heard to me I don't know what the judges wanted for him to sound like at that time but for me his voice stands out the most with that beautiful clear, strong,crisp tone

From watching this video January 4 last year to January this year - The difference now, I saw Dokyeom and heard his vocals in person 4 days ago! He was amazing!! Hearing him sing "Kidult", I was mesmerized by him 🥹🩷🩵

I feel like we as Carats don’t flex our vocalists enough. I mean this video describes perfectly how much Dk improved since debut, his vocal abilities are crazy! He has such a clear and soft, yet powerful voice, and don’t even get me started on the fact that he looks so happy when he’s singing.. After going to a Be The Sun concert DK became my bias wrecker. His live vocals (and visuals) are no joke, and he's honestly just super considerate and sweet, everyone in the arena was going 'Awwww' during his intro on stage. His voice is unbelievable.

I just became DK's fan this 2023 because of Killing voice. I really loved watching KV and I came across seventeen's video. I instantly fell inlove with his voice. It was so clear and rich and he has this charismatic look when he sing. And after binge watching videos of DK, I became hooked with Seventeen also and now I've became one of their fan. Hahahaha!

dk is truly a masterful singer. he not only has an incredible range, but he so clearly understands the message of the song and adjusts his tone and approach to singing to represent that. i really think that being in excalibur helped him understand his chest voice more, and realize the full extent of the power he can put behind it! ugh i adore him
