    At 62 years old, recently surviving cancer, having a vocal chords surgery, I am very thankful to have Don Dokken around. He is a survivor and just on that I show respect. George Lynch remains an Eddie Van Halen School Dropout, his style has nothing to do with Eddie Van Halen like most of his generation actually did. Mick Brown and Jeff Pilson are true creative masters inside and outside Dokken

    Didn't he piece these solos together in the studio through adjoining a bunch of licks? Punch recording and mix and matched them together? In many ways, he would have had to relearn his own solos, because of how edited they were. I just think he couldn't be bothered to learn them or simply couldn't play them when the way they came out on the recording.

    Man shut up. George wrote the damn song and can play it how he damn well pleases. Its gets boring real quick if you're playing everything how it was written note for note, especially if you've been playing these songs as long as he has. Theres nothing wrong with being creative.

    You know that "tone is in the fingers" old wives tale...); Well George used to have it a lot more than now. But only because he uses less gain now. Tone is in the fingers is just another way of saying whether you can fret notes properly and make the best up and down pick harmonics, not matter how small, smaller the better. Which comes naturally to players.

  • @banditdarval9401
    @banditdarval94013 жыл бұрын

    I wish George could get back to his old tone & quit "experimenting" with blusey, dry effects. Especially in his latest performances. Put away the beat up fenders & les Paul's & get back to what made metal fans & musicians admire him. Kick ass tone, cool guitars & shredding it up accurately.

    I love George, but when he just wanders off and improvises everything he usually loses what's cool about his playing. I get that it would be boring to play the same solo the same way for 30 years, but maybe just a hint of the original melodic content or at least 30% of a plan and 70% improvising would be nice. He's still got amazing chops though.

    I'm not surprised Don playing the Guitar .A lot of the front men play the Guitar or Bass but ended up just singing most of the time.

    they only did the show for the money. think that was a million bucks. Lynch said on Eddie trunk that he wanted to do the show and wanted an American tour but wanted all monies divided equally. Don wasn't for it.

    I love george but he's at the age where his fingers slow down making him sound sloppy when he does his solo solos, its either that or he cant remember them for the light of day. Atleast his rhythm is still solid his tone most times.
