I'm not 100% sure but I believe that version of the shrike was designed to go after longer range tracking radars in the e/f frequency band. The SA-8 TELAR operates on c and j

Thanks for running the server, Enigma, and this video. Now when I'm fangs out with guns I deliberately repeat to myself "control closure! control closure!" as the main thing to think about and it made a world of difference to my gunfighting. Doing the same may help you too. Brevity also gets easier once one is determined to do it instead of the conversational style - but hey, it's a Free World :) [or used to be].

Sick I want to learn to do some SEAD in the A-4 so this is perfect! The other day I was having a hell of a time getting my Shrikes to track at all. I tried about 15 times and I think only a couple actually tracked. I kept trying at VERY low altitude so I will try at 12k like you stated.

There is an issue with the shrikes right now, you actually have to aim higher up to get them to work. This video was made a bit while ago

Did they fix the Shrike in the A-4E? I thought it had a bug?

Would you add the F-104G mod or is that too gamey still?

I ike this plane a lot. But i dont like red for players not installing the mod so they got the larger flanker profile to make spotting it easier.

Are the Shrikes fixed now? A month ago they wouldn't track on radar emissions.

I think they 'WORK' but only if you aim a certain way. You have to aim high up the HUD. I actually did not think about this posting this video because I made this video right before 2.9 came out so sorry for the confusion. I work many weeks in advance sometimes and try to have completed videos in a content bank so I can post something if I am busy or out of town.

I have not flown it. Mods are hard to add. The official F-4 is coming soon so just waiting on it.

You can join the server without the A-4 mod, but you can't fly the A-4 without the mod, and you'll see other players' A-4s as Su-27s

This video is a bit old so this was before that issue arrived. For shrikes you need to aim up higher (almost like a mirage 2k bore sight area) and then the shrike should track AFAIK

Why are the BlueFor AWACS set to immortal ? Both of them ! ? i worked hard to avoid defences and fighters clawed for every meter to climb into a HAWK network up there where they were orbitin just to find out you cannot thake them down or damage them .... 3xmissiles into one and strafed the other before being shot down and nothing not even points.... ? @Enigma89

Because the server becomes unplayable when there is absolutely no vision to see. DCS multiplayer lags the more radars you put into a mission. So instead of several EWRs, we may place one AWACS to make things run smoother.

DCS SAM Ai is so brainless its really hard to call anything in that game SEAD. would you say a game has "dogfighting" when the ai only knows how to fly straight and level? Being able to shoot ARMs at radars does NOT constitute as SEAD or DEAD imo, which is something Falcon BMS absolutely excells at.

The Skynet IADS script totally changes how SAMs in DCS behave. I wish more MP servers would use it as it requires nothing client side.

@@liammackenzie9283 You are quite correct. I use it on a private server and it makes SAMs what they should be. The private server is for US military veterans only and in the opinions from those on it… it’s damn good. Especially when SAM sites are properly placed and constructed.

I tend to agree but this is all we got in DCS. I do like BMS a lot. I really hope that if they ever get a red plane then we can start to see a MP scene flourish in BMS.

DCS Multiplayer is unplayable I don't even know why people play on servers.. Imagine coming to land in your F-1 and you hit an invisible crater
