Doing Burpees For 3 Years Taught Me This.

In today's video, I discuss why I do burpees. I also touch on what burpees have taught me and why I will continue to do them.
Thanks to Lee Hazad ‪@StrongandConditioned‬ for asking me to share my thoughts.

Thank you for sharing that with me Richard. I’m grateful and humbled to have positivity impacted you in a small way. Keep rocking with those pushups and burpees man!! And it was about 10 degrees Celsius in this video. It is definitely a little cooler down by the water. You can certainly feel the temperature rise slightly when you come up off the beach. Thanks again Richard!

Always happy to try and spread the good word about burpees. And the spray or mist from NF is quite something. You need a full on rain suit if you go down in the boat, that takes you right up to the base of the falls. Loud as hell too!

I do appreciate the time and interaction people give to the channel, so your comments and support are definitely appreciated. As for the different burpee workouts; you are so correct. Just because a workout was “easy” one day, doesn’t mean it will be the next. Burpees and training in general have a way of keeping us honest and hopefully, working hard. Again, nice one for being here👊.

I'll soon be 65, so I need to be careful as I'm in this fitness thing for the long haul. Back is rested up & I'm ready to get back to it...gradually! You're so right about fitness, its not only the fountain of youth, but the best mental therapy out there. I'm encouraged from your tales of how horrible burpees were when you started. I do 10 & I'm doubled-over, out of breath & searching for the defibrillator! There's no fool like an old fool, so I'll keep plugging away; progress, not perfection!

I am trying to get myself back in shape. I was a Patrolman, K9 Handler, Sergeant, Lieutenant and then Commander. The last two positions put me behind a desk most of the time. Not a good spot to be in, to stay in shape. Thank you for your video. Brought back some memories. We were getting punished for our actions on the driving course. We did deserve it, but it was fun and hilarious. The instructor told the men to give him 100 squat thrust. When we got through. Then he said ladies, join in and give him a 100 more. Now I am 64. I told my family that wasn’t my goal anymore, unless I was trying to kill my self. 😃

Excellent video David! I can't tell you how much I relate to what you've said. My burpee journey has begun in summer 2021 and since then I got in better shape and achieved things I thought I would never be able to do (like 100 22-counts, thank you for the blood tears and sweat IronWolf!). The whole mentality around burpee training is the real gem for me - it brings discipline into your life, force you to push through when things gets hard and flushes out negative thoughts cause you can't think about what's not going well in your life when you hit 300-400 reps of burpees and you need to focus all your attention to do the next rep, then the next, then...

Hey James man. Thanks for checking out the video and sharing a bit about yourself. I’ll be honest, I don’t work a lot of night shifts currently but I do understand the real struggle that comes when our bodies are thrown off from being up all night. It seems like the only good options, while working through the nights, are perhaps not the best ones. Bringing your own food is probably the best way manage what you eat, but let’s be honest, that’s not easy to do, especially when you have to eat on the go between calls. Or if you and the shift meet somewhere to eat, you don’t want to be the guy who pulls out his own food. I totally get it man!! I’ve been trying to drop a few lbs lately myself and I’ve been trying to trick my mind by drinking more water (and coffee) so I’m less tempted to eat the crappy food. I’d say if you are gonna eat out, try and pick the healthiest option and then try also to keep it to that one meal. I also try and eat a lot of fruit, to cut down on the hunger. Really appreciate the question James. Hit me up anytime! Be safe out there brother👊.
