This family is doing right by that dog, and for others that will be rescued because of them. It’s the most unselfish act to adopt out a dog you have created a bond with in order to foster and save more dogs. Clearly they will only adopt this special dog out to a family that has as much to give as they do (and if it does become a foster fail so be it). Lovely video and a lovely family!💛

I always thought that pitties are dangerous. That is until I adopted a senior pit at my local shelter 8 months ago. He was there for over a year. My heart broke for him. I can honestly say he is the sweetest dog who loves all people. He was listed as a mastiff mix due to his brindle coat, but my vet confirmed he is actually a pit instead. Best mistake ever that convinced me to advocate for him instead of against him😊❤❤❤❤

@@ellyneilsen2865 55 people out of 196 thousand... You're projecting a feeling into a story that you saw a glimpse about it. Without even understanding fostering. Or listening to the fact that they already have a dog and a 1 year old kid. Fostering (or having dogs) needs a lot of energy and ven money. Why do you question these amazing people's decision? As someone who was fostering dogs letting go one that seems a perfect fit for you is a hard, but very important decision. The two dogs I "gave up" although we had special bonds had or have their best lives. And they found their real home. Meanwhile I was able to save multiple lives (not just the ones you take out, but the dogs that can have their places in the shelter!) and help people to find an important member of their lives. That's called selfless deed. These stories teach lessons. This one was about fostering and judging certain breeds. No one is in the position to judge this remarkable couple.

Best dog I've ever had, my soul dog, and although I never say never, I see myself only adopting American Staffy mixes for the rest of my life. I don't even mind the drooling, the cost of the indestructible bed, the people that avoid us because they think he'll eat them or their napoleon sized doggo. He's the most loving and loyal dog ever.

You are exactly right when you mention housing issues for the owner is a big issue with adopting a pit bull especially. I have a dog named Ivy and she is a Blue Nose Pit Bull. She looks just like this dog but all grey color. I live in New Jersey so I think housing is an issue almost anywhere, especially with the breed of a Pit unfortunately. Ivy is the sweetest girl, loves to be a lap dog, gives soooo much loving, happy all the time, follows commands and everything but none of that matters. When I was relocating it was almost impossible to “RENT” anything apartment/condo/townhome/ house with Ivy. Even when I found places that advertised “pet friendly”. As soon as they saw Ivy or when they asked my the breed of the dog and I stated a pit bull almost every place stated they don’t lease to dogs of that breed. I did find one home that would rent to me with Ivy, and since that was the ONLY place that would rent me a home with her I had only one option as far as where we were going to live bc giving her up was NOT an option for me. Unfortunately there was stipulation on renting to me with a Pit Bull. I had to pay a $1,600 deposit (in case Ivy trashed the house when we moved out, which I would end up breaking something by accident more than she would) even tho Ivy is house-broken and has NEVER chewed on anything or recked anything OTHER than her chew toys/bones. Plus I had to pay an extra $75 fee every month with my rent. I can totally relate to most people not being able to pay the ridiculous deposit AND monthly fee. Unfortunately they make it almost impossible OR too expensive to be able to house a Pit Bull when I honestly have NEVER met a Put Bull that wasn’t the nicest/ well mannered/ happy dog. They are not bad dogs. In certain instances they have BAD owners who teach them and make them do horrible things. So I can COMPLETELY understand, personally, how housing makes, being a Pit Bull owner, almost impossible unless you own your own home. I really hope and pray someone adopts him. He is ready for his forever home. He even seems like he y it a already house-broken, good with other dogs, AND CHILDREN. All perfect things that should help him get adopted quickly. Someone please see this and take him home. He deserves it!!

I've seen videos of dogs reunited a year or two after being adopted with their foster parents, and the love and excitement is still there. So I wonder if they feel pangs of disappointment and betrayal. But we do it for the greater good, which means more dogs get into homes and out of shelters and safe from being put down. It's something we on the outside don't like to see, but unless a huge number of people begin fostering and adopting, this is the best system that has been found, I guess.

People, please stop projecting your own feelings into a story that you saw a glimpse about. Without even understanding fostering. Or listening to the fact that this amazing couple already have a dog and a 1 year old baby. Fostering (or having dogs) needs a lot of energy and even money. I salute these remarkable people to be this selfless and concious. As someone who was fostering dogs, letting go one that seems a perfect fit for you is a hard, but very important decision. The two dogs I "gave up" although we had special bonds had or have their best lives. And they found their REAL home. Meanwhile I was able to save multiple lives (not just the ones you take out, but the dogs that can have their places in the shelter!) and help people to find an important member of their lives.

Omg Drake’s eyes are so expressive! 😍 An adorable meathead with a heart of gold like him should have several different families vying for him. Kinda hoping he becomes a foster fail as he fits into their family so well.

I'm in PA, im gonna talk to my husband. Do you know hoe he is with cats? We have a nice big back yard with an in ground swimming pool. Love to go camping and of course would take him along. We do have an English setter but I fear he will not be with us much longer due to health issues. Like I said we have cats, 4 to be exact. All rescues and I was looking to adopt a pitty. Do you know his age?

Be brave and make Drake your forever dog. Other commentators are right - you were brought together for a reason. He fits your house, and your life, and your family. You are a smart lady - don't let him go... you will never forgive yourself. He has been through enough already, and as far as Drake is concerned - he is home.

For the people in the comments….you can’t keep the dogs you foster because then many times you can’t keep fostering. This is the gift of fostering. It’s sad sometimes but rewarding knowing that animal is going to a great home and you can open your home to another foster. Drake is still available for adoption!
