I was just about to leave a comment like this. I had Pit Bulls for over 20 yrs and I had a rescue for almost 10 yrs and some dogs get like this. They just cannot handle bonding and then losing like that. It's really unfair to them as it's not natural for dogs to bond and then constantly lose pack mates. He needs a permanent brother or sister to help him deal when they adopt out their fosters.

I feel bad for Carlo. Every time he opens up to a new friend, they go away

I can't believe this one wasn't a foster fail, very very sad that they were separated...

Plus, I actually think it’s wholesome because the narrator of this video fosters dog and gives them a good time while there. It’s better to experience love even though you are going to lose it rather than not experiencing love at all in your lifetime.

THAT was bitter sweetish. I thought for sure it would have a much happier ending with you saying you couldn’t split them up.

It's the love that changed Willie. Love is powerful.

I realize you can't keep every dog, but I was really hoping you would keep Willie and Carlo together.

Having done 20+ at foster/rescue...I always had 2 canines, Residents, and brought in a foster. Sometimes the foster would stay for a long time because of bigger issues than normal and The Pack would do most of healing training because that's how it works. A couple who got fostered, ended up staying because God tapped me on the shoulder and told me HE was giving me a Gift. As a foster you are told, you can't keep them...and make room for another foster but sometimes you have no choice, you have to keep them because it was meant to be. But I do believe Carlo needs a permanent canine companion otherwise he'll keep shutting down.

There's no score here. The dog is living alone with an quiet middle aged couple. For real? Are they going to run him for at least an hour a day? Play dates for this dog? Yeah, once a week, otherwise a blast in the small backyard by himself. Let's be real. Foster mom and adopters scored! Not Willie! This is a terrible mistake. Any dog lover can clearly see what is so wrong. Don't sugar coat the fate of Willie! His past and his lonely future. Willie needs a partner. His experience tells us that and you knew it would be best for his needs. I am so upset and sad for Willie. I am sure that couple is sweet but this is not a match. Willie cannot be alone. Quiet home with no other pets? You did the opposite of what you said his needs were. That poor, poor dog learned to trust and play and now he will only get a little play date. Please Get Willie another dog or rehome him, FOR HIM!!!

What a good foster mom, she did a great job with Willie. A bit sad to see Carlo and Willie separated, of course, but Willie lives close by, they will surely meet at the dog park. And this way, the foster mom has room for the next pupper that needs her.

He's so handsome. And his ears are amazing, as are Carlo's.

I didn’t cry when Willie and Carlo got separated, my eyes just cosplayed a waterfall.

Call them a beautiful couple together. One brought the other out of their shell...the other got turned into a loving doggo again. Bless the two of them.

I'm going through this right now with a dog who lived outside since a puppy for 4 years. Princess even looks like Willie with reverse colors. She was out of her mind with major issues adjusting to the inside. Today she is a relaxed, trusting couch hog. 💖🐾😺

He will miss his friend. To be closed off and find the trust and hope needed to open up to a life and friends and then have all that taken away....I get he was a foster but it's a real shame he couldn't stay with his family.

I always say the same thing. It just seems wrong that they make all that effort with him and gain his trust just to be taken away again. Although i did feel better after hearing he went with a middle aged couple just minutes away from where they live. I'm positive they will see each other often. That makes it a lot better. I really don't like it when they gain trust of an animal that's REALLY hard to come out it's shell, and it finally does, or the one's who were abandoned just to get used to the fosterer and have to start over with another family, those are the one's that seem wrong to me.

@@JaneCooper190072 exactly, I get the idea of fostering and they have to let them go to help others as well, but I think when they are fostering for a long time that animal doesn't feel like a guest anymore, they feel like family and I think they shouldn't be separated if they stayed in the foster house long enough to bond with them

Hi! Carlo’s mom here. Simply not true. He is dog selective - and that’s how he’s been since we adopted him - but does have some BFFs he sees weekly. Through continued training, he has blossomed and he’s a great foster brother. He’s a working therapy dog and lives a truly amazing life.

Willie’s eyes were so sad. They are happy eyes now.

When I saw willie conquer the stairs while wiggling his butt with so much exuberance and pride it made me laugh and tear up at the same time!! That was so incredibly awesome to see!!! And I am so proud of both the humans and Carlos for guiding him with such dedication and love to help willie to get to that point!! Bravo my friends!!

It's so crazy to see how having a confident older dog can help fosters, especially the shy ones.

I only watch The Dodo or Hope For Paws. I ignore the rest because many set up fake scenarios and pretend to rescue abused or abandoned animals when in reality they are abusing them and pretending to rescue. All for views and money. Or they actually do rescue and heal stray animals and then dump them when the video is complete.

It so amazing how no matter how scared/frustrated Willy was , he kept on wagging his tail like there was no tomorrow!!

Some people always have a hard time when the foster gets adopted, especially when they bond with a resident pet. Those able to open their hearts and help more difficult animals become adoptable are rare. It has to be incredibly painful to have to say goodbye, but those people are responsible for millions of pets being alive all over the world. We should be grateful for their actions, and not judge what I can only imagine is a very hard thing to do.

Willie would probably have preferred to keep living with his friend Carlo. That yard that is 10 minutes away looks pretty lonely.

Such a sweetheart deserved a nice home to be loved 😍💕

Willie is going to need a friend...Poor Carlos but on to helping other animals in need. What an amazing job you did - perseverance, patience, humour. Great foster parents and both Carlos and Willy are awesome!

This is the very first time I’ve ever given a thumbs down. I can’t help but really feel for Willi. Now he’s all alone, when he was so happy & absolutely thriving with Carlo. It breaks my heart. 💔😔
