That's absolutely it! I don't believe that there has ever been a dog that "needed" to be trained. They are born knowing to fallow the leader. But, when the one who they are supposed to fallow doesn't know how to be a leader they don't know what to do and that's very scary. I've always believed that it is ALWAYS the dog owner\handler who is the one that "needs" to be trained, not the dogs, not ever. 😊

What a comparison in the noise levels at the start of the lesson and the end. Many of the owners seemed to be unaware of what was going on with their dogs and just stood passively. They needed to be more reactive than the dogs. Often owners believe that, what they are doing is correct. To accept that it is wrong is so hard to do. But unless they can undo that conviction they will never advance in their training and the poor dogs are doomed to a life of torment. People education and training is the key.

The short , sped up clips that worked their magic to bring you the huge audience you now have were a true marketing success.Of course, they had/have a downside too in bringing on the wrath of the ALL POSITIVE community. Now we are seeing the needed benefit of getting the dog to a point of “listening and following”. Nothing is more important. Sit, stay, down, shake etc are icing on the cake. I see so much of Cesar Millan in your approach where leadership takes precedence over everything. Every dog owner participant in that room was there to STOP an unwanted behavior, not to teach a new command. Your skill lies with giving owners the hands on experience to become the most important thing in the dog’s life and gain confidence that they can have a better relationship with their dog. That’s where it starts.

It would be in your best interest to do more videos like these and less of the shorts, which can only show highlights of worst case scenarios. So I've been following on this whole unnecessary drama recently and honestly.. I graduated with a degree in dog psychology and have been training dogs for 7 years now, I've ran a whole training business with my mentor for a year doing the same thing Augustus has been doing ( teaching clients in groups with different levels of obedience ). When I see the techniques Augustus uses on the more reactive dogs, this is the absolute best approach. The clients at the seminar in the video are given great advice, the exact same I was given to tell when interviewing my clients. When I heard one woman say "she's definitely the alpha" that was definitely not the case and seeing Augustus letting the client know that it's really just the pet parent needing to be more clear on communication and give the dog more direction then demonstrating how to do it, tells me that this man knows exactly what he's doing. Also, seeing him handle the larger breeds with more than one slip lead is definitely NEEDED. Even though these wonderful creatures are domesticated, they still have tons of strength over us. Plus using tools like muzzles or prong collars ( though I absolutely hate those ) can absolutely be necessary. They have a bad rap because A LOT of people don't know how they should and shouldn't be used. Yet the goal is the use it to help them follow direction until they can ween off from it. Treats and toys are really needed for beginners or what we call "kindergartners" when a dog knows the basic commands already, they NEED to be weened off of the bait. If they continue on bait you will have to rely on it for the rest of your life (which idk about you but I don't want to be smelling like bacon bits every day of the year). From one Dog specialist to the next, I approve this training and CANNOT wait to come visit one day. Keep up the amazing work.

@@TeslaNick2 Actually there is. It's called being a Cynologist, the study of canines. And they usually hold a Bachelor's Degree. But i wouldn't expect someone who prob barely graduated from HS to know that. But share with us your credentials since you are apparently a dog training expert 😀.

Thank you so much for posting the entire session! Clips have been taken and used against you. The video shows the truth. You are an amazing instinctual trainer. You understand dog behavior and what it takes to remove the dog's fear. God bless you for saving some dogs from their owners, some dogs from eventual euthenasia. Instinct and training yourself makes you capable of handling your own animals, and all of us can still learn from you!

WOW! You demonstrate a level of elite dog training that I don't believe anyone in the world can replicate - to go from the stress and insanity of the first half of the video, I can just imagine the fear and adrenaline in the arena (for everyone but you and your shepard), to the calming relief of a whole group of out of control dogs now calm and controlled, it's truly remarkable. Yes there are other great trainers out there, but to get a whole class of wild and loud dogs under control is beyond next level. Just amazing. Never stop doing what you do so well.

Thank you so much for sharing this !!!! I thoroughly enjoyed watching an extended version of your work, aside from the, ( Park ), outdoor setting, or smaller spaces. A big factor that is not mentioned much, is the fear the dog feels from its owner. When the owners fear subsides, the dog relaxes, and is more in tune with the training process as well. 👍🐕 Your training is quite Superb ! EXTREME EXCELLENCE !!!! 🐕 Love You Augusto💗😊 God Bless 🙏💗

Wonderful 👍👍👍. I think this longer video shows its not all confrontation between you and the dogs. It's learning to respect and follow your guidance. This should show the haters that they are WRONG!!! Using these tools as guidance helps these dogs find calm. These owners must be so relieved to have communication with their dogs. I hope for the dogs sake they are able to continue your teachings ❣️❣️❣️
