Awesome channel. I'm building this same car, EXCEPT for the over-the-top sequential gearbox. And, like true Englishmen, you used baling wire to hold the whole thing together.

Ah pure German Engenuity at its finest. Wanted to say common problems especially with M50, M52 and M54 Motors are cooling and sensory issues. Usually it's the thermostats or water pump or hoses especially radiator hoses that can't handle the extreme temperatures under the pump. Try opting for S60, S62 or S64 waterpumps with impellers and monitor sensors on a regular coupled with regular antifreeze checks. Monitor used oil Viscosity and replace on a regular.

you need to run it with the fan clutch, else you will get this overheat issue those fans on the radiator are a joke for M20's. I had the same issue fan clutch will always allow you do whatever you want

Cooling has been sorted now, no changes to the setup - just properly bled the system. Job done!

Wouldn't be wondered, if the Head is cracked. Thats a common Issue on these old Engines, and presurizes the cooling system.
