Does the Ferrari 328 GTS still feel fast today? Pro Racer drives it in Singapore to find out!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hi everyone I’m Sean Hudspeth from Singapore, a professional racing driver, and official Ferrari driving instructor. I’m a 2 time National GT champion in Italy (2019 & 2020).
In this video, I will be driving and sharing my thoughts on the Ferrari 328 GTS, with a 0 to 100kmph acceleration of 5.5 seconds, the Ferrari 328 was once considered a very fast car. But that was over 30 years ago. In this video, I'll drive this Classic Ferrari and put it through its paces to see if it's still fast enough today.

Sean Hudspeth is a professional racing driver from Singapore who has been competing as a motorsport athlete for over 12 years! Inspired to pursue a career in motorsports since he was a child, Sean Hudspeth began his career Go-Karting at a very young age. He took part in World and Asian Karting championships between 2011 and 2012 with multiple pole positions and wins before moving on to Formula Car Racing under a scholarship programme with Formula BMW Asia.
Sean Hudspeth did his first Formula Car Race in 2012 before moving to prototype endurance racing in Europe where he claimed several podium finishes in 2015. He then made the switch to GT Racing with an Italian Porsche Carrera Cup Team for a one-off race in Imola, Italy which he won. The Singaporean did his first race with Ferrari in the Brno Round of the 2018 European Challenge where he qualified and finished 2nd. This incredible result led to a seat in a Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO with the official Ferrari GT team, AF Corse, to compete in the 2019 Italian GT Sprint Championship. Sean Hudspeth and his teammate Antonio Fuoco managed to win the class champion in dominant fashion. In 2020, Sean won the Italian GT Endurance Championship with Ferrari Team EasyRace, as well as the historic 6 Hours of Rome at the end of that year.
Sean Hudspeth is a certified Ferrari instructor and works with the brand at their official events, launches, and roadshows all over the world. He has worked with hundreds of Ferrari clients and drivers, at presentations and as a driver coach on the road and on the track.

Excellent review Sean thank you. I'm 5'10" and have just about enough head room in my 328 GTB, so I think you were wise to drive a GTS. I maybe slightly biased, but I really think the 328 is the sweet spot (apart from the 355 which is much more expensive to maintain though) - it is such an involving car to drive, it feels so alive and responsive, the engine is very revvy and quick, it sounds absolutely epic especially with a subtle sports exhaust, and it makes both those driving it and those who see it smile and be happy, its just a cracking little Ferrari! Keep up the good work and keep your reviews coming, and wishing you continued good rehab from you injury. :-)

This was the best car review I ever saw. Perfect duration, interesting and entertaining, and covering all the important aspects of driving/ owning a 328. Thank you very much and much love to Singapore, which I am hoping to visit again soon.

I had the play in the steering fixed a couple of weeks ago. It just needed a new steering rack. Now it responds quickly and steers like a go-kart. One funny thing about the steering rack, it comes in two different sizes for the same model. I asked my mechanic why this was the case. He just laughed and said, "It's an Italian car." Back then, assembly was a bit "rough" and parts that fit on one car did not fit as well on another car of the same model. I guess this is due to the fact that most parts were assembled by hand, sometimes borrowing parts from other cars.

Personally I don't have a problem with lack of power steering on lightweight cars - I had few funds to repair my 80's Porsche so it was a low priority; I disengaged the pump. It's a free gym arm workout !

308-328 GTS are for me the perfect driver cars. Their is no need an absolute speed for a nice week-end ride.

Completed my Novice Race Driver's Trainng course last week. Drove my 1986 328 GTS. Amazing, no brake fade over the course of the day. Was a little concernced about overheating, but even though the day was 30 C, no worries. Just left the engine hatch open during breaks. Yes, targa roof was off. Yes wore an Aloha shirt (think the factory manual requires that 😎 So, my driver nickname...yeah, very obvious...Magnum.

Who cares if it's not snap your neck fast. It's sexy, it's analog and it's a Ferrari. Personally I prefer the body style and wheels of the 308, but the 328 is my lottery winner car of choice

Come to think about it the 308, 348 followed the same naming convention. 3.4L V8 for 348 and 3.0L V8 for 308. Makes me wonder is the 355 a 3.5L V5 then ?

Not at all. Just looks good! Actually much better than anything Ferrari built after 1989. Pininfarina and Ferrari split, Enzo passed, so RIP FERRARI!! Too many computer systems now to ever be any good. Actually many cars in that class look almost identical, even the lowly Corvette!! How pathetic is that. Too bad the 328 didn’t have more horsepower. However, it’s an Indy Car compared to the pathetic 308.
