Of course he knew. He really sat there on the judge panel watching Shangela winning her 3 out of 3 lipsyncs, and he had the gall to tell the queen with the best track record out of the Top 4 "I'm sorry but this is not your time". Unbelievable.

We all wanted Dela, but Dela basically said " Give it to someone else. " Shangela won more challenges and deserved top 2. Did she deserve to win? --- Eh. I think as far as a winner goes, Trixie would be a better choice because she is a bit more educated and taking drag in a broader direction where as Shangela doesn't touch anything we've not already had.

I'm living for this mess. so i finally watched the season.. and i find this statement ridiculous. was Shangie robbed? probably. did she slay her season? absolutely not. if anything she did slightly better than Trixie. she should have been in the top 2 and would've probably won that lip sync. but like all the other queen she was overshadowed by Dela.

That’s because she is the Beyoncé of drag and how many times she was on the show really doesn’t matter cause all of them were on it before and still do drag outside of the show and I’m sure most of them still watched the show and knew the expectations for all stars and shangela was the first one home on the first season she was on so it’s really like she was only on 1 season

max YES. the only case I would say of this that DOESNT apply is Monét and trinity, k i n da because it’s theorised the double win was something that they had planned for the beginning but were trying to rig it for Manila and Latrice, but then that didn’t work out and they needed to give it to someone.

This is the reality tv gimmick they need to stop with. Ru passing the blame to the other queens bc it was their responsibility to choose the top 2 is selfish & messy. That's YOUR show thats on you, you should have just chose the top 2 yourself it wasn't such a hard decision after shangela murdered this season & trixie did amazing too.

Listen, when Andy says that “they didn’t judge on talent” he didn’t mean that they “crowned a winner not based on talent”. What he was referring to was Shangela not making it to the top two. He even tells Ru that his staff was upset “Shangie” didn’t make the top two. He then asks Ru if it was more like Big Brother, where they vote off people based on personal bias. It was no shade towards Trixie. By the way, I can’t stand when Ru is asked a serious question and doesn’t answer seriously. Had he said “because it’s my mother-tucking show” I would’ve been happy. Instead he goes into that little voice. 😒

I mean I feel like the obvious intention with the jury twist was that the girls would pick the top 2 based on track record and then no one could blame Ru for riggery like Alaska AS2, I think the producers realized they had made a big mistake after the jury uhh ... did that. It's not like they have 20/20 foresight, it was just a mistake with consequences they didn't expect. Doubt it'll happen again.

There are many reasons why; however that is a very in-depth discussion and is not something that can be explained in brevity. My initial comment to the post was a "kiki" but substance abuse is a pandemic problem for my people and should be taken seriously.

Everyone saying it was rigged is so lame. They literally just made the cast vote. This was about as far from production meddling as an all stars season has ever gone. If anything, it highlighted just how different what production shows us vs what the queens actually experience. We saw Shangela doing great and then we also saw the other queens clearly not having time for her at the end, at all. Clearly there’s a reason none of them besides Thorgy wanted her in the top 2 but that’s the thing nobody ever wanted to talk about.

What a loud and obnoxious way to dodge a good question. I really hate the way RuPaul is acting since RPDR has gone 100% mainstream. Proof that people really change once fame hits them.

Ru is right. Shangela is out there making that money honey. She'll be on Bianca's movie this year and A Star is Born with Gaga and Bradley Cooper. Also from the tour's and shows she does. However, Trixie is making money too. She has a succesful show with Katya and is one of the top Queens on demand. Ru should've based the top 2 and winner based on the competition and track record only. Shangela and Trixie are one of the most popular Queens, so the decision should've been on who did better on the show. I feel that Ru didn't like that BenDeLaCreme snatched our wigs and eliminated herself thus giving a major twist and Ru wanted to pull the ultimate twist regardless of who deserves the crown.

Season 10 of the new drag race just aired last week and after 9 seasons, three all star shows, im done..that whole setup was so jacked and the vids that i've seen with Ru addressing the whole situation only validates my decision....it just further perpetuates the idea that hard work really doesn't pay off, but who you know, does...i guess, i just expected more from Ru, but he's made it very clear he's in it for the money...wont be using me for ratings or shock value, no ma'am....

I love Shangela. I also love RuPaul. I think he stands by his producers on how they decided to set up the choosing of the top 2. RuPaul probably would have chosen Shangela but I think the twist was to add that personality plays a key roll in judging a queen. I felt Shangela was a sure top 2 pick. What RuPaul says here is as good as we’re gonna get from him on the subject. Just glad he knows what we’re thinking. Enjoy season 10 y’all! Halleloo and party!

This makes me extremely uncomfortable...

Let me say something controversial yet brave... I have never been a fan of Shangela, she's a good Queen who definitely got better as she matured. However, I was happy Trixie won, she created a whole brand and career for herself between Season 7 and All-Stars 3 that continues to prosper and that will long outlive Drag Race. It was super disrespectful for Andy to insinuate that Trixie didn't win based on talent, her outfits were vastly improved from Season 7 and she took some chances, she is also a singer, plays instruments, does comedy, hosts multiples successful Web series, has a successful KZread channel and a makeup company. I never found Shangela to be a particularly interesting or memorable Queen... Trixie is unique and leans into that. Also, can you imagine working really hard for something you want and then constantly being told after you achieve it that someone else should have got it? Like honestly guys get over it, Trixie won fair and square.

No not really, if you watched the season Trixie tells the girls that her and shangela should be top 2 right before voting. I'm not upset that Trixie won but I'm upset that Shangela wasn't top 2, I still like Kennedy though, but like crystal said "she's beautiful, but she wasn't beautiful tonight."

i will never care who actually wins an all star season. i typically skip the crowning anyway. to me, all stars is just a talent show. so is drag race. i just get to watch these queens show off their talents. some unfortunately get to show less than others but thats all it is. they’re all winners to me.

To all the people saying "why all the twists?" The fans since season six have been complaining that "the winner is always too obvious" "every season is the same" the show moved where it thought the fans wanted to see it. Now the fans are mad, and they won't do thst twist again.

She went with a Danaerys storyline. The other queens burned her.

That Twist of past queens voting on the top two, was the STUPIDEST MOST UNFAIR twist on the history of the show!!! They (the show) knew they fucked up but will never admit. Case in point this video. Rupaul (as much as I love him) will never admit it. The only saving grace is that shangela went on to do AMAZING THINGS,

There is an interview I read somewhere, where RuPaul says Shangela was on her way to win. He then went on to say he would have picked her to win it all.

Ru could write the book on avoiding and dodging questions. Especially when he knows he fucked up. That “eliminated queens pic the final 2” twist was the stupidest thing ever. Here I am years later still furious about it.

Why is Trixie shocked? Everyone knew that Shangela was the true winner and Trixies knows it.

Ru really didn't answer that question in the thumbnail, so I disliked this for a false headline. Me personally if it had been a proper season of Allstars produced well and not a complete mess, I would say that BenDelaCreme and Shangela would have faced off in the final two to decide the winner. Just saying.... I'm happy for Trixie, but if this is a contest about Drag talent and ability and not just a staged TV show designed for attention, than those two performed better.
