A very insightful deep dive indeed! It goes back to the ground idea of questioning everything and knowing the reason why one does something. From the smallest choices to the big millions, the basics remain the same. Would love to hear more experiences about deciding a goal number and reverse engineering to career paths.🙌

Ali, have you been diagnosed with ADHD? As someone who was diagnosed in my 40's it has changed my life. You have many of the traits; especially the constant jiggling, rocking, and finger tapping.

The answer is ABSOLUTELY YES. It buys healthcare, housing, food, therapy, and MOST of the things that cause people stress in the first place. Hearing ultra rich people talk about how riches don’t help happiness is tone deaf. I have consistently seen that the people I know who are financially secure are the happiest NO QUESTION.

Counterpoint: debunking the myth that being ultra rich guarantees (or is required for) happiness can increase the life satisfaction of those who don't have or aspire to such extreme wealth. That's a PSA I appreciate. 😉 The happiness-boosting effect of more readily achievable levels of financial security is a separate topic which is touched on later in the video. My personal experience with ultra-rich people through my former job and social contacts in Silicon Valley is that they do NOT seem happier, and some seemed downright miserable. The contributors to happiness discussed in this video are applicable *whatever* one's level of wealth: recognizing when you've reached "enough;" avoiding keeping up with the joneses or lifestyle creep; giving attention to purpose, values, relationships, and health; etc.

Interesting topic, and I usually listen to every single interview on this channel, but the sound quality in this was so sharp and harsh. I had to turn it down so far I almost couldn’t hear it, and it was still pretty rough going.

The thing is, I think that 'love and relationships' are the 'things' we're ultimately made for. I say this as someone who has this relationship with Jesus, who I believe made us for himself, and others. It all got messed up... and now we have this broken, messy world, where people don't love God and other people perfectly (because we're all highly fallible!) Anyway, I just want to say- Ali and the two guys on here, and anyone reading this... man, Jesus LOVES you. Try reaching out to Him, even if you have doubts. He meets people often where they're at, if they want to know Him. But yeah, just to say- I would say love and relationships, with God and other people, that's what it's all about! That's where I find meaning and just amazing satisfaction

Read Felix Dennis' book - Ali's obsession with making millions is hilarious. If he's insufferable now, imagine if he actually sells something.
