Electro harmonix should make a fuzz with a octave-down pedal feature: a Muff Diver.

Tho I highly applaud the name you came up with.
A 49 minute video about bass fuzz pedals? Yes please!
It works well enough for Royal Blood. The Fuxx Fuzz pedal caused my smut-ometer to explode, but just about restrained myself.
10:20 is the miku pedal

Everytime I hear an OG Big Muff on bass, I pour one out for Cliff Burton
I like their style of playing in this video, it's in the context of what they're playing through, unlike almost all the other All About The Bass videos, where it's only Funk, Slap, etc. good to see some rock playing here.

BUT THE MIKU THO
That Miku pedal on bass is absolutely terrifying
Love these segments! Probably some of the best reviews and chitchat on basses and accoutrements on the Internet!
Honestly: This was the most entertaining thing i saw on this channel for a long time :D It does not even feel long and its so interesting to see them testing sooo much stuff and deciding for myself what i like best. Very inspiring. I am a bassist and love pedals... so obviously this fits me very well. Good job guys, pls do more of this "testing loads of pedals on bass" stuff ^^
not enough miku
I liked the video the second i saw the korg miku
Really enjoying these bass videos! I think you guys have nailed the dynamic between hosts which some other Andertons videos haven't been able to do in the past.
Very inspiring! More experiments on bass! I learn so much from you two!
Video has worked, just ordered the Fuxx Fuzz from Anderton's. Great video. You guys are a great combo. 👍
Did i watch all 48 minutes and seventeen seconds of this? Yes, yes i did. Thanks.
Wow... if one day I thought I would love a two bass jam as much as this, incredible beginning!
I went out and instant-bought that Haunt. A combination of your playing and the actual demo-reel of sounds you can get out of that, damn. 16:53 sounded like some crazy chase theme.
Love it when Nathan gets his glasses on. Business Time!
Been using a Joyo Fuzz pedal for over a year and love it. I really dig the sounds Curtis Mayfield had with their tones and fuzz gets me close.
I wanted to hear more of Lee playing with the Monterey! I know this was a fuzz shootout but I loved what I heard and now I want one, that and the Octa Hive.
Im getting that MXR Superbadass Variac Fuzz for my guitar rig and this made me excited
Love ya guys!
My favorite Andertons jam ever!
When I used to play with The Paupers in T.O. I plugged into a Vox Essex bass amp on a cart with 2x12s, and ran a lead from the second input to a Traynor Bassmaster with 8x10s. It had a great hard buzz; it didn't flap the way a lot of fuzz boxes do. Ever try that?
i wanted more of nathans bass
HAUNT!!! Yaasss! You guys this is your best video yet!
Wow, the rumble bass amps really impressed me!
amazing bass player!
Awesome!
I liked the Tone City and Big Muff most because they sounded absolutely filthy. At the risk of sounding unpopular, I think you guys might be overdoing the Miku gags. It's still well and good but it's going to get old quick if you keep it up.
The new Big Muffs (Green one and OP-Amp) sound absolutely divine on both bass and guitar. Would have won this test by miles imo! The Miku was a strong contender though.
Dude, that opening fuzzed bass line sounded sick as hell
Gray Stache Fuzzrocious sounds like a useful pedal for alternative bass.
Fell asleep somewhere around Muff and woke up second before Walrus fuzz. I love this show.
Hey Lee, what is that guitar strap you got? I want one!
Bass overdrive shootout please, so hard to find a solid bass overdrive

Get two amps; they don't both have to be big; run a lead from the second input of the first amp to the input of the second; you should get a really solid buzz, at least I did. And it isn't flappy like these pedals. It might work with the first amp being a little practice bass or guitar amp. Let me know if it works for you.

Tbh I use a behringer because of the nice tones it can deliver
17:09 This has my top vote so far. But every fuzz bass video should feature Paul’s bass line from “Think For Yourself” forever and ever.
Nathan's bass during the intro sounded so damned tasty.
God, I just love fuzz. I find regular bass tones so boring. Nice selection of fuzz pedals, loved it.
Walrus audio's Janis is super cool. Love it.
I would listen to a whole album of that first jam.
Dads face at 10:40 is priceless! haha
Is it a status graphite s2 custom that your using. I LOVE the status graphite CW signatures anyway love status😃😃😃😃😃😃👍🏻👍🏻
You were successfully funnier with the miku pedal than Rob and Lee were! Now i need one for my bass rig now.
Would love to see you guys playing some royal blood !
which bass is nathan playing? great tone!, i ask beacause i don't speak english as my mother language and can't understand what they say in the part they mention it

It's a Status Graphite S2-CLASSIC
The "Haunt" by a mile !!!
that old blood was insane!
I'm not a bass player but I think that a fuzz/dist for bass need a blend pot....I guess they are using a lot of guitar stompboxes. ;-)

Before I watched this I was thinking the same thing, but the lows didn't drop out like I was expecting at all thru the guitar pedals.
Fuxx Fuzz Pedal is awesome.
This one deserves a regularly scheduled do over. How about all 7 JHS Legends? I'm dying to hear the new Plugin on bass.
Does any one know Bass fuzz pedal that take away the bottom end from the bass
You guys shoulda used an orange amp. I thought that was a given in a fuzz off
Nathan bringing his Status o.0 Anderton's Status deal? Pretty please?
Cool! Another andertons video! I'm going to enjoy thi- WHAT IS FENDER PLAY? FENDER PLAY.....
I want to hear more about Lee's party days
These pedals seemed to squeeze some great playing out of you Lee!
Can't believe how good that fuxx fuzz pedal sounds... and for under 50$!
effect pedal videos NEED at least three hands. Very good work boys.
Love it!
You guys should check out some of the new D'Angelicos!
I gotta get me one of those Fairfield Circuitry fuzzes.
A EHX metal muff works well on a clean bass sound HOWEVER unlike most beginner's you want to cut back on the gain and bass levels it makes a great rhythm tone with a decent amount of dirt
To me the Fuxx Fuzz had a cool effect but it is missing the ability to blend through clean tones alongside the fuzz sound which is what to me makes for a great bass fuzz. To me the Old Blood Haunt Fuzz was the best all-rounder.
Does guitar fuzz work on bass? Just go back in time and ask Cliff Burton.
Ironically my favourite fuzz pedal for Guitar is my Bass Muff :')
10:22 the Miku is my favorite
I may have run a lead from the Traynor to the Vox; one or the other.
Where did the "yeah jar" go ?

You Blokes should do a shootout between the ODB-3 and the BB-1x :)
YAAAASSSS!!! MIKU!!!!
Golden Fleece for me!
I use the new remake of the Russian big muff, it's AWESOME
Is any cheap guitar fuzz works on bass
i'm using a ProCo RAT on my jazz bass. it is bretty gud.
Do this with delay pedals!... (and a fretless bass, if possible!...)
Tonight on "Plunging into the Janus", two men, one a knob toucher, the other a G-string fiddler, sit in a small room appraising eachother's fuzz. Stay tuned.
The badass pedal kinda reminded me of muse

Listen to MAGIC PEOPLE or THINK I CARE by The Paupers on KZread for the same fuzz bass sound I used. It's the legendary T.O. bassist Denny Gerrard on the recording, not me. One amp running through another.
For that vintage tone for bass and guitar, one will want a Maestro FZ-1 or a clone.
@victorunger

A clone should be mandatory to own peroid
I think for fuzz, it sounds better not being di. Even try just the MXR with di vs mic'd
Do Muse use bass fuzz pedals? Multiple times throughout this vid I found myself thinking "This sounds like Muse".

Chris mainly uses Big Muffs, the old black Russian ones that were designed for guitar, but which are widely regarded as sounding great for bass
@legatenaarifin

Although he also mainly uses a Human Gear Animato, which is more a distortion pedal than a fuzz
@BLACKSNOWFALLING

Chris also uses the Zvex Wooly mammoth, although not as much as either the Animato or the Big Muffs~

Very good point. He also uses a Prunes and Custard pedal by Crowther Audio on some songs. Basically, the guy uses a bunch of stuff
I wonder what Schism would sound like with the Miku pedal
Beatles: Think for yourself.
11:26 best part
niceee
I actually like the guitar fuzz on the bass
I just mikued and so did you
PDF 2 was dank
This is awesome, I've been using a couple of Boss distortion pedals with my bass since last spring and I love the sounds they make. The low end gets cut out quite a bit but it still sounds great and is super fun. Troll alert, the Boss MT-2 sounds awesome with a bass!
@jedjen7473

I've got an MT-2 and a DS-1 I get some great tones out of them, also have a Bigmuff deluxe bass and MXR bass octave deluxe.
ever heard of Royal Blood?
I want a Miku pedal. I'll never, ever use it on a gig or a recording, but I want one anyhow.
17:24 that look XD
I just watched this for the miku pedal
Pigtronix brought Supro back, not JHS.
Goat glitch
Cool, now try comparing them to made-for-bass pedals :-)
