Wish JHS did more demos with bass. Amos Heller killed it in this video 🤟🏼
YES! More bass videos!
JHS keeps putting out pedals and a bass only video is sorely needed! Go forth blend knobs!

Fantastic demo by Amos. One of the best Bass demos I have seen on here, definitely peaked my interest into a few more pedals I could incorporate into my own setup.
The Muffuletta sounds ace! Love that it has 6 modes on it
These are officially some of my favorite videos
you should do more stuff for bass players!!
Those are the coolest kind of videos
Amos is great player and communicator.
Wow. That's the best effects demo I've ever seen.
That jazz bass tone is immaculate!
Great video! Cool player! Definitely sold me on a few pedals, VCR!
I really enjoyed this I like that muffaletta and chorus combo
Awesome player and pedals!
Great video!
Good video Amos!
I love this man
I find solo'd bass with od does not float my boat, but it definitely works in a mix
Absolutely fuckin smashing bass tone love
All these bass players getting outside the box and working to keep their job when keyboard players are making these wild sounds is giving me life.

Bass being filled in by a keyboard or synth has zero soul. A good example of that is Attention by Charlie Puth. The bass is all synth/keyboard and just looped the whole song. For pop stars that's all they're needing. Some underlying foundation looped for their 3 or 4 chords and that's it. No change-ups, chord modulation, tasteful licks or other characterization of the song that can be filled by bass because pop is supposed to be as formulaic and easy listening as possible. Any melodic shift or characterization is done by the top end - vocals, some underlying harmonies made in the studio.
Taylor Swift really isn’t my thing but hearing from this high level of a touring musician was extremely insightful. Great vid

They aren't actually good bass players though....
I'm really curious to see a full review of the VCR working with a bass...
Ben Stiller playing bass 😱
That was inspiring.
I feel like jhs would really benefit from using demont/guyatone stomp switches. They are super well made
Cool Amos!
Bout time bass players getting some love
This is really what happened to Desmond Miles after AC3.
Amos rocks!!!
Cool video! Wish the audio wasn't clipping so much tho
That slap riff...
Nice sounds - Great « explications « ( french language)......🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻👍🏻
More Derek Zoolander bass videos please ☝️

Does it really matter if he plays for Taylor Swift, I mean who cares? It’s a gig and it pays well, and you’d probably get to play with a lot of creativity in the tunes, whilst also playing with some other pretty amazing musicians. He is also a great player and knows his shit!

playing with Taylor Swift means that he walks on stages from all over the world, and is a professional musician.

You’re right, he’s basically the same musician as the guy at my local pub, same knowledge of technology, PA, sound, and general engineering. You nailed it chief
I like that we’re at a point we just call him “Taylor Swift’s bass player”😂😏
Nice fret buzz...
fuck this guy is good
Is that a flea signature Jazz he’s playing ?
I don't hear a difference between the prestige on/off.
Never would have expected Taylor Swift's bassist to be so good.

All pop stars' backing bands are incredible musicians. I personally know her guitarist, and he's the best guitar player I've ever seen in person. He's been studying guitar since he was four and can play intricate jazz changes in his sleep.

Must be a bummer to get paid so well to travel the world playing bland, un-challenging, un-fulfilling garbage music.

Except that the artists in question is massively popular, connects deeply with her fan base and speaks to her listeners in a way losers like you don’t.
With the flick of a switch, you covince people you never truly took the time to learn how to groove.

Hes probably making a great living playing his bass. I would not consider that a waste. Could he do cooler shit, yes definitely, but id take playing for T Swift over my current 9-5 any day of the week.

Depends - some "hired guns" make really good money, but some don't. I'm guessing Swifty probably pays pretty well. Though I can't see him really having the opportunity for a lot of creativity in her music. But then again, the more pop dance-type tracks do have some neat bass tones.
@mnagz14

You can't deny that playing sold out arenas for any artist and traveling the globe, all the while making some money to play music would be a dream come true for most people. Hired gun work like that is great because you basically get to do the same thing as the artist without as many responsibilities or obligations (eg: Meet and greet, autographs, pictures, issues with management or things along those lines) and get to just be a normal person once you leave the stage.

I am sure playing bass for the biggest artist in the world opens up plenty of other opportunities for him. Just think about all the musicians, producers, records execs, etc. he has met. And he probably makes way more money than he would doing his own music.

Steffen Gotsch I am no where near good enough to be a professional session or touring musician. No where in that ballpark. However, had I put in the massive hours and sacrifices and taken the risks to become that level of player, going on tour with Taylor Swift would just be a giant heartbreaking waste
