It's a different story if the pedal isn't available anymore and the company is not around or doesn't make it. But for stuff like the Ibanez TS9, Big muff, Proco rat, and others. @@SteamvilleQuintet OK it have USB and FP..i have far more simpler only working with USB but that is what i need UMC404HD under 100$. Behringer IMHO got that bad reputation due to plastic enclosures for pedals also when people buy cheep and it is broken they are often angry but they overpay things they tend to find excuses ..for example there are tons of videos for let say guitars up to 500$ and they do bla bla how fret ends are sharp etc but when they do video for some Suhr or PRS that cost 3-4000$ and have sharp fret ends then they say ''it is normal thing and guitar have to be taken to pro for set up'' ☺..Fact is that all parts are made in Asia for pedals, all machines like CNC again Asian, pickups parts everything comes from there so it is a bit crazy to think they are not capable to make 1st class finished product..I don't have the problem to say that open no matter that i'm European, but some of my friends who try to make pedals, amps etc don't like that since the only thing they are left with to justify the high prices are lies more less. To make 1st class pedal in metal box if you make let say 100 of them- parts will cost you for each less then 5$, for pickups is the same situation only builder have less job to do. Then why some products cost 200$ when fer price should be under 50$? Simple human greed, take a look 99,99% of those small builders have no school usually they are musicians who couldn't do anything with musical career but they know very well that guitarists often tend to buy overpriced things due to marketing hype. If you buy some KIT pedal and solder it alone it will be equal with quality as any boutique out there 100%. cheers.

I could hear differences in the harmonics sustain or subtle feedback.... some (at least one) surprisingly seemingly better... I have never liked the behringer brand, but have never tried them either... its kind of a bad "before taste" effect... but every behringer pedal showed here had a great sound.. especially good for the price...

This is the first JHS video that i watched over a year ago when i started to play guitar again. Also one of the first guitar related videos that i watched on youtube, never been a fan of guitar related youtube channels, still to this day there are only 3-4 that i follow. I immediately liked Josh, the whole JHS show, his humor and playing. When i started to play and buy gear again i decided that i wouldn't care much about the brand. Sure it's nice to own good brands too but in the end it's all about the sound and the player. Now i see that Josh is the one who made me realize that. I still own pedals from big brands, boutique brands but i also own budget pedals. I recently bought 4 Behringer pedals and they're all amazing. JHS show still remains my favourite youtube channel. Thanks Josh & Co.

About 9 years ago, i bought a Heavy Metal Behringer pedal for less than 30$. I actually wanted a Boss pedal since my guitar teacher was using one but the price was way off my budget ( I was only 16 back then). My teacher said that the only difference between these two is you can basically stomp the shit out of Boss since the casing is made out of metal. 9 years and thousands of hours later, my Behringer pedal still works as good as the first day I bought it.

For an extra $10, you can find plenty of high-quality "like-new" used pedals on the web from Boss, TC Electronics, MXR, and others. Remember that as soon as you take a pedal home, the value drops to "used". I bought a used faded Gibson LP with Burstbocker pros for $450 and it was in perfect condition. If somebody played it before I did, I sure can't tell. More than likely, some parents for their kid, he had no interest in playing it, and it was under the bad in the case for a couple years before they traded it in for a keyboard or a drum set for their next kid.

I can tell how good a guitarist is by the guitar brand and color multiplied by her\hiz hair length and color adding the cosmological platform boots spike heel height constant, minus how much blue light is in the follow spots. Add one for every fall off stage without missing the root note as the neck breaks add 100 for knee slide & 1000 for riding guitar as a skateboard, pickups down only!!! OK That is X. Now take how confusing the integral looks and forget it. If they look like you, say their amazing. If they play a harmonic minor say they stole the licks. Forget all that and admit Hendrix looked cool as fuck in those hippy dippy outfits like your mom wore. ROCK GOD is had.

Other companies wanted to build an X pedal too. So they go buy a palette of chips. Well, the chips have instructions to them. So company B follows the instructions, as did Behringer, and builds their pedal. Well, they wind up very similar. He points out its not just Behringer or company b. Its just how the entire industry works.

Sure, my Mackie mixer has a great reputation but hissed like a snake when the treble was turned up. In comparison, Behringer's mixers are noiseless. That's why I upgraded to Behringer. Yes, folks, I consider this an upgrade. I am not a brand-snob! I've never had any of their equipment fail. In terms of copying circuits: everyone copies everyone. too many people "listen" with their eyes. They think that something sounds better because they can see the label. Or worse, they think something sounds crappy (before you even turn it on) because they don't see their favorite label. Then you go to their place and they're playing a squier strat through through a 15 watt practice amp (just like I would use at home for my "practice" RIG :) )

If any other youtuber made this video I'd assume they were being sponsored by Behringer (and thus any and all opinions are worthless), but the fact that the video is created by a boutique pedal producer effectively promoting brands that are in competition with him makes it seem that much more trustworthy.
