the place you thought had a tv was actually where an air vent was at just like in the mid to late 90s suburbans my '94 suburban had a vent there

Mike Anderson why you gotta hate on it? It’s low buck builds that an average joe can actually relate to.. there’s plenty of channels where some guy with tons of money pays someone to build expensive fancy stuff, this thank goodness isn’t one of them.

Now now children..... In my opinion, Steve’s builds are done half ass. BUT he’s your average Vehicle enthusiast with a passion for them. He’s not a licensed mechanic, but enjoys working on them. He’s not a fabricator, but he enjoys doing or trying it. Steve is a family man, who at the end of the day, doesn’t give a crap about opinions, haters remarks, or jealousy. He wants to learn more about his passion, and raise his kids.

Tahoes and Suburbans also came with rubber floors for municipalities, you might be able to order those too. don't forget about keeping all your vent tubes above water. Don't sell it. You have to wheel it!! :)

Buy some cheap floor mats because that's the spots that will wear the paint off the quickest. Or go all and get some black weather techs

I cut the carpet completely out of my 98 Tahoe 4x4 I like the bare floor look it’s awesome

Now you can still use the bed liner in the 450 so it won't look like shit back there anymore.

Thank you for removing the carpet. Last video I saw it was growing green stuff. You should flex seal it. Ive seen it done in a jeep and it worked great.

That looks good. I might do that for the 88 c1500 silverado that I'm working on, on my channel right now.

I have painted many vehicles carpets with spray paint. Once it dries good there isn’t any smell it speak of. I did this on vehicles that needed a touch up from road salt damage. But sense the carpet is nylon paint or the so called dye doesn’t stick very good so it’s a quick cosmetic fix. If you buy some cheap floor matts you will see even less of it. Another thing I recommend is taking a grub brush and go over the carpet to fluff up the carpet fibers this give more fibers to stand up to absorb the paint. Just keep the doors open for a days with a nice wind to get it really good and dry. The paint Oder is from the paint still being some what wet as it dries the thinner releases flumes until it dries. Way to go SendIt

I love these types of videos. You are doing s**t average people can do. I have an 2003 f150 supercrew which I love and neighbors think I’m crazy putting time in on a 17 year old truck. I just wish I had the knowledge of putting a rough country lift on myself. I like doing this type of stuff. Cool channel Steve.

If you leave the tan trim pieces like On the seat, it will make everything look a lot cleaner looking and actually make the carpet look “cleaner”

Looks pretty good! And let's be honest, who doesn't like a good product test? It will be interesting how the color holds up over time!

I used this stuff and everytime it would be 80 or hotter out the car smelled like spray paint it was weird 🤷‍♂️

Fabric spray paint stays soft and ply able. Where as Metal spray paint cures hard due to enamel. So the passenger side (used with regular spray paint) will hold the water on top of the carpet more than drivers side. And I like it actually, never thought it would/could look good. I’m now a believer🤓

I can honestly say I’ve never seen anyone rattle can a carpet, or thought of it for that matter. I just have a tendency to rip them out and never put them back in lol

To be honest I'm glad your buddy used normal spray paint on the passengers side because I always wonder if the normal spray paint would last as long as the fabric paint. And yea I still like to see the bruce take on the island test I say he should make it without any problems and besides I just like seeing videos of him out playing in the mud LOL

so, we got a off road "BUDGET" build, atarts off with buying carpet for 150 then decides to rino line the floor , prob a nother 100 worrth of material, but then buys carpet die , for anothe 50 bucks, then Spray paints it gloss black, ?? im wondering what kinda drugs he uses at this point, steve: i only spent 24 dollars, honestly should i buy some more

Considering how much you enjoy putting your car is underwater I think you should have gone without the carpet

There is going to be water in there after you go bogging so $24 is the way to go.

SendIt Steve spray paint on material such a carpet tend to lump up and have a rough/poky or sticky feeling not to mention potential for lingering smell but hey you may luck out with it but personally I would’ve carpet cleaned it or used fabric dye on it not trying to be an a-hole just want the best for you man I have a 99 Tahoe and I know the struggles of a dirty carpet
