I like how you used a different product for each wheel to illustrate what their effects are over a period of time. 😊 Thank You

nice experiment
I've noticed that another of people use sponges or rags to apply tire shine. O prefer to use a paint brush and glaze the tires. I put on one coat, wait an hour and apply a final coat. Lasts for weeks and you eliminate the streaks

How long does the shine last? Did you try to mix some other ingredients together to get the best result?
@BrandonStellmach
2 жыл бұрын
Pretty much all of them Only lasted from a few days to a week. While the actual tire shine lasted almost 2 weeks. And I never thought about mixing them. Maybe I might have to try that and see how they work combined!
Baby oil is cool. Thanx

Wd will dry out the rubber quicker in time when it soaks into the rubber it will displace any water that woulda soaked into the rubber and push out any moisture that was in it already..

Basically you need to keep up on treating your tires. Rubber absorbs oils and solvents. As you treat your tires over time you will see the difference in how long the shine lasts even from using baby oil.
Okay you applied it now take it for a drive to see what happens when you get back
This is why you don't find Pledge or Baby oil at the auto parts store.

Test of time. The real one Doesn't baby oil affect rubber?
@BrandonStellmach
2 жыл бұрын
All of them didn’t really last any longer than 2-3 weeks. And after doing this video about 4 months ago my tires still look good with no cracking. And I don’t think there is anything in baby oil that can hurt the rubber, but I believe WD-40 can over time if you keep doing it. It will start to strip the oils from the rubber, and dry them out.

@@V_channel_ how about the wd-40 silicone based spray which is safe to use on rubber?
I stop using all tyre shine cos it didn't work and never last it make it dirty when it attract dust...especially when it rain all tire shine all gone...so now just clean it normally...
@BrandonStellmach

I agree. Many tire shines get very dirty. As well as get all over the side of your car if you put to much.!
I’ve always used brake fluid. Do it the night before driving, need time to soak into the rubber.

@@BrandonStellmach at 4 dollars a bottle. can't beat that. 63 yrs old now and I've used it most of my life. I also feel the oil in it will help the tire in the long run. It stay's wet at least 24 hours till it sokes in the tire. That's why I'll mop mine down with a shop rag the night before. Hope this helps.

This was more of an educational video. And showing the differences, between household items and tire shine. And as you would see the tire shine outperformed the other products, so that’s the one I recommend.

@@BrandonStellmach I scrub my rather new tires down really good, rinse really well, let them dry and I still see some brownish haze on areas. I want to find something that will get them black, and keep them that way for at least a few weeks.
