Dodge 2.4L Crank Position Sensor Replacement

Hey guys! today I am working on a 2012 Dodge Avenger. We will be replacing the Crank Position Sensor. Make sure to always verify the crank sensor is the actual issue because often times, the problem is wire related. MAKE SURE TO SUBSCRIBE!

    It's in a tough position on the '13 Journey, but by the sense of touch I got it in. I found it easier to unbolt the sensor and pull it out from the top of the engine compartment to release the clip.

    Gas line cleaner for a crank position sensor code? I don't think they are related but did the light ever come back?

    Do I have to disconnect the battery? And do I have to reprogram afterward with a computer or scanner

    you dont have to disconnect the battery, but you can if you want. and no programming has to be done after replacing the crank sensor on this vehicle

    The camera view was superb, were you using spy cam glasses? That aside, I was hoping it would be easier to get to..I can do it, already purchased the sensor, or could hire a mechanic to do it I suppose.

    Just go to your nearest dodge dealer, and go to the parts counter with your year make model and vin and you should be able to get the OEM Crank sensor

    How do you access this sensor if you have the awd version. The transfer case makes it impossible to access under the car

  • @RodriguezRepairs

    @RodriguezRepairs

    Жыл бұрын

    I believe the awd has the sensor in the same location, it will just be a much tighter squeeze to get to, or maybe access through the a different angle, I can email you the procedure if I can find it on my software

    Is the crank sensor going to be in the same location on a 2004 stratus. Every other video I am seeing says it's below the starter but it's not there.

    @@RodriguezRepairs it has the 2.4l sohc. I found what I was looking for. However, I am having a much bigger problem now. When I put it in gear I have to put it to the floor to go anywhere and it gets around 4k rpms and I have to let off the gas pedal for it to shift.

    How many crankshaft sensors are there in the AWD 2007 Dodge Caliber R/T, please? I have my car at the mechanic and they say that they need FOUR hours. Is this correct, or are they just giving themselves that much time in case it takes that long? If the sensors take only an hour each and there are only two of them, wouldn't the time be more like a two-hour job? Or are there 4 sensors to be replaced?

  • @RodriguezRepairs

    @RodriguezRepairs

    Жыл бұрын

    Your Caliber should come with a 2.4L also, in which it only contains 1 crankshaft position sensor. Most vehicles only contain one crank sensor. Now are you getting confused with the Camshaft Position sensor? This vehicle comes with 2 camshaft position sensors (Intake and Exhaust)

    You left the old o-ring in the hole if you go look at the video you'll see it so you have an O-ring floating around in your engine somewhere

  • @RodriguezRepairs

    @RodriguezRepairs

    Жыл бұрын

    if you go look at the video again, you will see the o-ring still on the sensor, it goes in a groove so its really difficult for it to fall off, the orange you see is small coating residue the original o-ring comes with not the O-ring.

    Just called Pep Boys auto shop, they will charge you $250.00 dollars or so to do this job for you..hmm I told them I'll more than likely be getting dirty tomorrow up under vehicle, either that or find a out of work mechanic who could use some money, I'd pay them 50 dollars or more the labor, maybe 100, just to be nice.
