I had a balloon sinuplasty once and during the follow-up the doctor ripped into my sinus wall so badly that I cried through the topical anesthetic. When I told him he was hurting me he pushed harder and yelled at the nurse because she forgot to call him "sir". Afterwards that I had a headache for *nine days straight* and blood so dark it was nearly black dripped from my nose for about a week afterwards. I still get sinus headaches whenever the air pressure changes over a year later because of this. Doctors are assholes and I hate them. :)

And this is not a one-off event. I have like five separate horror stories of this caliber and all of them are for DIFFERENT medical practitioners. Do not get me started on how awful a bad doctor can be. I chose to voice the Gengar in this comic for a reason.

i think the overarching argument was whether doctors in general suck or not. So with using your example, the equivalent would be generalizing something about all teachers, and using math and chemistry teachers as example points. Would be a faulty argument if misdiagnosis/malpractice was something only limited to general practitioners, but it's not, but also the arguments of surgeons can be ass too was not brought up either so /shrug

They're kinda right with the doctors diagnosing patients. I had to go like 5+ times to see what was wrong with my stomach and ended up being diagnosed by one of those small walk in clinic doctors. Not even the main doctor I have could diagnose me. It took 2 years for me to get diagnosed. And my parents still had to pay money for all the times I wasn't diagnosed. So moral of the story. If you pay a furry artist, you'll get what you paid for, if you want to get diagnosed by a trained professional, good luck.

There are those that want your money and then there are those that want to help you. As for the last remark I can’t really talk from experience considering I have a burning hatred/fear of furries.

Even so long after this originally was just a text post on Tumblr, Pukicho manages to be the funniest person I know about. Seeing this be voiced killed me in the best way possible, I haven't laughed this hard in weeks if not months

Despite doctors going a ridiculous amount of time to school, I think that they are only as competent as the procedures they perform. Their thought processes are not exactly guaranteed to be smart when it comes to deduction because their heads are bashed into one or two ways of thinking in their extended schooling. School is known to make people competent at particular skills, but often at the detriment of APPLYING them correctly, as school is an environment that doesn't represent society as a whole. Diagnosis, the deduction of illnesses is one of the main things all medical workers should be taught, yet so many doctors are shit at it.

About 6 years ago an older woman I worked with told me this story about how she went to see like 5+ doctors for one of her kids, who was obviously super sick, and all the doctors were just like 'it's a cold forget about it' but then she goes to one more doctor, who physically locks her in the room because he thinks her kid is so sick that it's negligent, and so she tells him about all these other doctors she visited, and I like to think that at least one of those doctors ended up facing some kind of justice.

I don't think it's getting worse. I think it's the amount of healthcare per person is decreasing, as the number of doctors stay about the same each year while the population keeps growing.

But unfortunately, the real big causes are actually funding, burnout, overall quality of care, stigma for certain illnesses especially mental and bias towards low/mid-income areas. There are yearly measures and reports on these things. I won't say believe me but I read resources like it regularly as part of my own work. The human population connection is also very politicized. Essentially, a lot of businesses and governments love justifying poor care by blaming it on the amount of people. When time and time again, we have completely healthy cities and nations with good healthcare systems as long as they are well-funded, well provided for and respected for its opinions.

The amount of raw *CHAOS* from these bits of dialogue is outrageous, and I'm like 84% sure that this is possibly from a Pukicho thread

As a disabled person who took 16 years to get diagnosed with some of my more major conditions I think furry rouge the bat artists provide more to our society

I always pictured the "you will die in 7 days" as a completely calm throw away line and not a threat ... seems more Pukichos' style that way

I think what really knocks this one out of the park is the slight animation of words and panels for greater impact, underlined with unintrusive sound effects! Also the audience gasping and mumbling - absolutely on point! This had me laughing so hard that I immediately rewatched it twice, it's just so fucking funny.

I've had to take care of my disabled dad and grandparents for 15 years and holy shit the malpractice. I think the only medical professionals I feel deserve any respect are the ER guys, but even then last blizzard the ambulance was ready to leave my grandma to die cuz "can't breathe without oxygen machine in a power outage with temperatures dropping like a stone" wasn't good enough! Like unless Pukachu comes from a country where the healthcare isn't a business and there's actual ethics, they're just stark raving mad at worst and extremely ignorant at best.

I'm just gonna say I require the services of furry artists more often than that of doctors.

They fucking are. Bullies grow up to work in police, medicine and schools, it's all about the power. This is exacerbated by turning necessary services into a god damn business, like a decade ago the nurses working in the hospital had to care for like ten people each, you can't tell me they can perform 100% oh yeah and on fucking 60 hours a week. Hospitals are an unnecessary hell and covid only made it even worse.

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten anything useful from a doctor unless I went to them with a specific diagnosis already in mind. I think the world would be a much better place is doctors actually spent more than five minutes in the room with you while also keeping you waiting for an entire hour.

Idk, maybe it’s just because I’ve been reading this comic in my head my own way for years, but I don’t think we perceived literally any of the inflections on these lines the same way. Lol.
