Doctor Who Dalek Invasion of Earth 2005 London Big Ben Exterminate
Ойын-сауық
This was filmed for the Trail of Davros stage play as one of the video sequences. Shot in two days around London with permissions from the London Boroughs back in 2005.
The cast and crew offered their services for nothing and all post production and CGI was created free of charge, as all profits from the project were to go to Children in Need.
Not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination but thought Who fans might like to see it. But I still think it's kind of fun. Enjoy the Dalek Invasion of London.... 2005.

Can I geek out in this otherwise humorous thread? It's a microwave beam - short range and the vapor you see is the superheated water molecules in the air.
This is pretty incredible for the budget, makes the Daleks ruthless and they actually look creepy with that big white emotionless pupil on there stalks. Take note BBC!

@Australian Eugenics Expert Coul;d see it happen. He went back in time to THAT World's 1960's, a time he recalled well....and had a family at some point, perhaps Rose...who he outlived, due to his alien make up, had a daughter or son....who had kids and named Barbra and Susan. And, being in the 1960's alternate earth, I would not b surprised if the Ian from the movies was that world's Ian, who, rather than what we saw in the series, was a bit of a buffoon. And the Doctor, lacking the materials and tech needed to make a proper Tardis, made one from whatever he was able to make from 1960's earth technology....though I bet he swiped some of the 21st century Torchwood technology before heading to the 1960's of that world. And this dimension's Daleks, Davros was dead, and hence why they did pretty well....Davros was not around to mess things up. And I'd not be surprised of this cloned 10th Doctor would regenerate as well. Perhaps this dimension's timelords met him....

Sadly that's all there is from the Dalek Invasion. It was a scene that featured as just a section of the stage play. There are other sequences from the play but I didn't direct them. But glad you liked it.
With no discredit to the BBC Doctor who teams old and new: this production is very earthy and real. It's first time in 30-odd years that I've found the Daleks very real and very terrifying - esp moments where they are caught out and cornered by them. Brilliant.

In the movie he is yes, but this is a fan film, and the black ddaleks are usually the supreme ones, and the gold is an attack squad leader.
What’s most impressive about the Daleks is after these many decades they manage to suspend our disbelief that they are the supreme threat to the universe, despite having a plunger for a hand and unable to go up stairs.
@peterweeks2066

They've always been able to go up stairs, and it was first shown on screen in 1989, and again in 2005. In 2006 the plunger was shown sucking a guy's face off.

What on earth has this got to do with the 1960's film? The same daleks form the 60's film are used here, therefore you have to stick to continuity, which is that in this generation in the timeline of the daleks, the Gold one was in charge, you can't just swap the roles! I know what the hierarchy is for the new series Daleks, but these are not from the new series! (As well as this there were Gold Dalek Appearances in the 1970's in the Jon Pertwee era! and the gold one was in command then also).
I thought this was a really good effort. And by effort I dont mean that in a bad way at all, I know how hard all this stuff is on modern computing power and software, so even 9 years back and with all those favours you pulled in - fantastic!
Ooh, movie Daleks. Nice!
I'd agree it's not the best but I don't think we did too badly for one day of filming in London with multiple Daleks! And it did help go towards raising thousands of pounds for charity, so not THAT awful :)
Am i the only one who prefers these Dalek voices to the ones in the real series?

1:37 oh my God I'm actually scared.
Well done, very good effort. I would love to do something like this. I have the black Dalek from the first Movie.
Thanks for liking it. We couldn't use the David Tennant Daleks because this was supposed to be the Daleks from the 1960's movies and was part of a Davros stage play, which I think we made before David Tennant was even Doctor Who!
Not watched this in years, mine is the Black saucer command dalek on london bridge and at St pauls.
It's things like this that remind me how scary the Daleks really are. Really well done
Just come across this and have to say it's fantastic, absolutely brilliant work on it all!
Thanks very much Warren. Kind words. I would've love to have helped out with the Power remake. I think they did a good job, the performances are great, but obviously were a little restricted with their locations. I was lucky I had the whole of London to play with! Although still amazes me how many landmarks we managed to cover in a day! With Daleks not being the easiest things to direct or physical move from one location to another!
thus, this video actually ends up working very well as it is less science fiction and more real world possibility. Well done guys!
2:55 Yeah, because she can't hear that loud dalek. Ok, ok, who am I to hate on this? I like these dalek designs, like the bigger bases, and I ADORE those voices, for whatever reason. It's just so unlike the traditional dalek voice, but if you knew nothing about the daleks and watched this, the voice for these daleks just fit them so well!
I think you've done a great job, thoroughly enjoyed it, would have liked to see a longer version but thanks anyway
I agree with you Peter. Bloody good video and definitely captured the feel of the sixties movies!
Brilliant, I loved it. I wish there was more.
Well done. I've always loved these kind of "in between" stories (my term). Kinda like "Dalek cutaway". Quite good acting - though really, people should have been running faster! London is such a maze: imagine being chased by Daleks within it!
When I was a kid I thought this was real
4:09 I love how there hiding from the sales but there's one in the background
I thought it was amazing; thanks for sharing it! I'm very impressed!
This is brilliant and very much in the spirit of the two 1960s films.
One of my long time dreams is to make a doctor who fan film that's as good as this masterpiece.
I always rather liked the 60's movie nerve gas Daleks... always quite scary when you're a kid. Although I think they original wanted to use fire but was considered to be too much! So they went for the extinguisher!
This is flippin' Fantastic! This is William Hartnell and Peter Cushing / TV21 stuff. Got the mood so spot on. Can go on but to add to other comments. Well done:-)
Thank you for liking it the film. We actually filmed before the new series started I think. So we didn't know what the Nu Daleks would look like!

I like it it reflects the style of the movie Dalek invasion earth 2150 AD well and lets face it the Daleks look better here than they did in some of the old episodes.
Amazing work. Looks a lot more expensive than it probably was. The acting is good and the action is well handled.
wow this is really cool, excellent work guys!
Very sadly there won't be anymore... it was a one off exclusively for the davros stage play. Although if you scan around youtube you'll find other sequences. But I was shooting the London sequence, as I was a Who fan and Director living in London. It was terrific fun to do though, if very hard work!
Very good ! Please post more.
This is so good I think it would have made a great film. Kudos to all involved.

Absolutely brilliant. I'm glad this came together just out of people being willing to participate. It looks brilliant, has a brilliant introductory plot and has been made for a good reason. :D Lloyd
I give my hats off to u guys, cause, even though that was juone day of filming, it looked epic. Would love to have this developed into a series to see how the Daleks came to invade earth, BRILLIANT
Very well made. And the dalek operators doing their own voices worked better so the lights flashed in sync with the diolog. Excellent work
I think it was because they were the easier Invasion Daleks to get hold of. Also we wanted to shoot in colour, so it was a nod to the 60's films... but you can image Cushing or Hartnell running around off camera, which ever you prefer.
5:33 I want that shot as my screensaver.

Those daleks are just magnificent!!
I don't like being picky but, the guy in the leather jacket - I'm guessing they were going for the Eccleston look - they could have found one that fitted so he didn't have to roll the sleeves up. He looks like a boy wearing his dad's coat. Apart from that, good work.

very nice! very well done!
This should have been a full adventure, would have loved to have seen more.
That's very kind. It was made back in 2004 or 5, I think before the new version of the show had even started (or only just). But I don't think we did badly with zero budget and time.
May I just say first, FANTASTIC! You shot the Daleks beautifully and extremely tastefully. It's very difficult to shoot those nasty little creatures on location and shoot them well, so I understand how much trouble you must of gone to! Also, could I just ask how you got that opening music? I know it's from 'More Than 30 Years in the TARDIS' but I would love to know how you got your hands on it. Brilliant track!

Hey lovin this cheers for posting. I wanted to see this since seing stills from it. I think the props look excellent apart from a few of the Dalek irises especially the main 3 props. The iris is too wide and looks like a flat painted surface plus the red dalek has an eighties iris. Would love to see more. Ta

Wow, this actually made the Daleks scary again for me! The only thing that really detracted from the effect was that black Dalek waggling its eyestalk as it spoke, but other than that, brilliant work!
cool! plz make more dalek videos!
Awesome!!!
Great job will there be a part 2?
Thank you for your reply but I must admit, I can't really take the credit for the DALEK abbreviation. Back in 1965, I was given an annual called "The Dalek World" for Christmas and I found it in there, so it's just from memory really :-)
The military response is this, add speed bumps to all streets and the invasions comes to halt. Mop up the traffic jammed Daleks with A-10 gun and Harrier bomb runs, break for lunch or tea at 12:00 hours.
Thanks for your comments. You got it! It was the best of all versions. Made it loads of fun to shoot.
