Restoration of the Daleks
Фильм және анимация
PLEASE READ:
Thank to everyone for being patient for this,
Shot on the 5th of march 2009 in 3 hours. I first had the idea for this film about a year ago when i was helping out at a Hyde Fundraiser event in South Shields. I just saw a new series dalek setting up and the eye just lit up and that got me thinking.
Then I asked Luke Pietnik if he wouldnt mind writting me a script about 10 mins long, after giving him a set of guidelines he started work. Very littlewas changed from the original draft.
I then asked a few friends of mine from The Hyde Fundraisers (please look them up) if they woudlnt mind acting in it using thier props and costumes.
The shooting day was a bit hectic with the Studio being double booked that day which lead to us loosing 2 hours of recording time. if we had the full amount of time i think we could have got some better shots (which it could do with really) never the less im quite happy with the final product and im very greatful to everyone who has contributed.
And I think a big well done is owed to Composer Danny Stewart, who created a superb score for this short.
These days i have accsess to Full HD recording equipment so I'm going to have to do another "who" related film within the next year.
Hope you all enjoy this!
Rob.
p.s. i'll sort out a download at somepoint :)

Just imagine if this was the same Dalek that was the last survivor of the Time War that faced the Ninth Doctor. It would be a full circle.

They're a whole different style from each other. Go watch _Genesis of the Daleks_ with Tom Baker's #4, and compare one of those to the Dalek in _Dalek._ You should be able to see the differences.

@wilkoman3 Hey thanks for the compliment. The actor who played Davros is very good at mimicking Terry molloys davros. all i did was add a modulation to the voice in the edit.
Woah. This awesome! It's like a modern day genesis of the Daleks. It's wonderful!
Excellent! All Who fans MUST see this.
Excellent piece. Very professionally put together. Love the sinister, gothic, behind the sofa hidden menace, that has been lost in so many of the more recent episodes. A revealing and quite chilling exploration of Davros' motives and reasoning. Well done.
That was excellent, the guy playing Davros looks and sounds superb.
Fanfilm conquer and destroy! Great work.
Even a decade later I'm still astounded by this fan film. It is a thing of haunting beauty. A love letter to Dr. Who fandom.

Wow I just found this this is so unreal well done for making this awesome film
13 years later and it's still pretty good!
absolutely fantastic. best fan film ever made
whoever did the music for this deserves a nod, well paced and written.
I love these Mutants
Very good. A noticeable step up in production values from most fan made productions.
After all of these years and how the canon has changed, I still see this as canon and a prequel to the time war

I see it as being the beginning of when Davros had Daleks created from his own cells, as he said he did, just before _The Stolen Earth/Journey's End._ It fits perfectly.
Davros' self-aggrandising is PERFECT! :) Long monologues, and ego-centric megalomania... that's what I always loved about that guy. It's a good thing that all the best maniacal dictators follow his fine example. ;)
This is just amazing. Brilliant works guys.
Sounds like Davros is planning to start The Time War

No, this was almost certainly the first Dalek created from Davros' own flesh, as he said he did in _The Stolen Earth/Journey's End._
The most Epic of Wins. I loved every second; a massive congratulations to all involved :-)
Very good - excellent acting and shooting effects top notch - A Fan made masterpiece!
Impressive! Amazing! Well done, Rob!
It would be cool if just for once, when Davros demands that the Daleks obey him that one answers, "Hey man, like that's some heavy shit. We're a peaceful commune here. Just listen tothe music and smell the flowers, Davros dude!"
Thanks Rob, that was deffo worth the wait. Congrats to all involved. Keep up the sterling work mate.
A prequel to batmanmarch's story The Oncoming Storm.

It's not just the Timelords that detest the Daleks, but every species that they have tried to eliminate from existence. 🤣
This is INCREDIBLE! Well done!
Bloody hell. That was very well done. This makes me want to watch a series just about the Daleks. It was actually eerie and menacing in parts and that's what the Daleks are all about. If I was at the BBC you'd have your own series.
amazing work mate - every second was brilliant!

+VeteranVetre H72 ([Director]) well, If you include comics and book appearances the doctor has at least 19 lives
I must say, this is the best Davros impression I've seen on youtube :)
They did in his very 1st appearance in 1975, Genesis of the Daleks. It is not stuck, it is mutilated and useless, just like most of his body. You can see that his body is excessively scarred with burn marks, he can not see without the camera in his head, he can not speak without his vocalizer, he can not walk without his chair. In fact, he can't live without it and he is in constant pain. But because he is a genius and designed the chair himself, it will never let him die. It's living agony.
very good mate totally perfect , it had a veri eery path that i believe has very been seen in doctor who to this extent and it let to basically the time war so i cant praise you enough , utterly amazing
Well played sir, very professional. Looks like it came straight out of a high budget movie!
this is still one of my favourite fan films
woah tht was utterly amazing!!!!! loved it all... brilliant dalek and brilliant davros! :) x

OMG loved soooooo much WELL DONE!!!
I'm looking forward to when we see the rest of this at the cinema! :)
umm...WOW! Perfection...sheer perfection! Davros, Dalek, all of it is absolutely flawless! I am extremely pleased that I found this, it's one of the most BRILLIANT pieces of fan filming I have ever had the priveledge to see. Marvelous work, sir, simply marvelous! Please Please Please think about doing more Who stuff, KZread needs a bloke like you! -Chris
I can't imagine why three people didn't like this, it's a very well crafted piece and Davros looks remarkable.
this is brilliant, i love it! best creation i've seen on youtube
The BBC should take a look at this work - outstanding.
This short indie film is great, someone should get the BBC to see this
Excellent work. LOVE Davros in this. Music works very well..
Very impressive work. You've appreciated how important good lighting is. Excellent sound and music too. Enjoyed it alot.
This is brilliant!!!!! Great job!
Behold the restoration of the Daleks!
I reckon, as you say, sometime after 'Terror Firma' or, if that's not canon, 'Remembrance', he was rescued from the Daleks, possibly by the scientist we see here, or a group of them, and they re-built his previous form, to his specifications. Thus the metal hand.
wonderful, this is how the bbc should have brought the daleks back

Brilliant. I'm glad this is finally out there Rob, I think all involved should be congratulated for their efforts.
very scary man, he is. Probably the most terrifying villain in Doctor Who.
Okay I wasn't expecting that. That was amazing, no more than amazing! I just can't get my head around how good this is. Well anyhow it was great. Oh and by the way someone missed the like button.
This has been more watchable than a lot of the Dr Who stories of late. 😈
THE best Davros was Terry Molloy....YOU have captured his portrayal Exactly! Its a Stunning piece of work......... I need MORE !!!!!
Too awesome for words :D
I can't stop watching it

You NMDs can quit crying, now. I'm so effing tired of hearing you babies whining _constantly_ on every•effing•single•one of the Who-related videos, old or new, for nearly half a freaking DECADE. You crybabies will even get your boy-crush Tennant back! But then you'll just start in again, crying, when the Doctor is no longer white. You've been whining ever since Tennant left, getting louder and louder with every single regeneration since he left. It was damned old before you freaked the _~bleeping bleepety bleep~_ OUT when the newest one had fewer dangly bits than the rest. Now, maybe you'll shut the eff UP!
It appears I'm 12 years late. But nice work! The Davros costume is really good! Looks like a hybrid between the classic and new series, which I assume that's what it's supposed to be.
GENIUS!
This was fantastic! Davros's voice and mannerisms were spot on!
amazing, well done,EXCELLENT!
Brilliant work! :) Keep it up
Excellent work.
So amazing
Can I just say that was so good its actually sated my thirst for what happened after Sylv's Doctor blew up Skaro. Someone lend these guys a few quid so they can give us The Time War as well!
watching this again, great vid
a very well put together film
One word - AMAZING! The Davros mask and Dalek are superb in every detail. Poor old Hinton! My only criticism is that the first three minutes or so are a bit too dark (literally). Look forward to a sequel - many thanks.
Awesome job, lads. Wicked quality from start to finish. Does this story take place leading up to the Time War?
10 out of 10 just amazing
Brilliant! It was if we were seeing a long Trailer for an upcoming WHO Epic...Directed by Stanley Kubrick kind of feel to it.
Now that was Fantastic!!!!!!! So its placed shorlty after Remembrance eh? Good call. Ive always wondered how the came around again. Afer this, surley Prisoner of the Dalkeks would take place after, then the Time War? Its a Fantastic film here. Its brillaint. Luke has done well writing it, while your Dalek voices and efforted work has gone into so much detail is perfect. Brillaint!!!!!!!!!! Your Dalek propis very well made too!!!! Was it built buy a certain person or bought? 5 stars
and thus the Time War begins

Um, no, not according to the history of the show. The Daleks were wiped out in the Time War, but had been replaced by new ones from Davros' own body by _Stolen Earth/Journey's End._ This seems to be the first successful creation of one from Davros' cells.
this is brilliant u have some real skill
2009 and 1080p love it.
Erm, how the hell did you achieve that??? Stunned......
Cheers thanks, Will be good to do some more.
