Plus it has surround so i can enjoy more movies., BUT if you have any recommendation that sound better FOR YOU in stereo music than those please let me know in a comment :D

    Very nice! Those new tweeters are sounding very clear and smooth. There always seems to be a lot of paranoia around hard tweeters.. I've had my Moabs with the Be center and soft dome mids for a little over a year now. In that time I've upgraded the crossovers with high end parts and it wasn't a subtle upgrade. I also placed my Moabs on SVS subwoofer isolation feet from the beginning and more recently upgraded to Townshend Podiums. Those also made a very noticeable improvement across the whole range. And if anything, they actually seemed to do more in the mid range and highs than down low, since I already had reasonable isolation in the low frequencies. At this point, I would put my Moabs up against almost anything I've ever heard, regardless of price. Your friend looks like he has a very large room? Certainly bigger than mine, anyway. I would recommend moving the speakers farther from the wall and maybe consider some Tekton subs later, if needed. PS, how old are his speakers? Mine took a solid five weeks to break in. Granted, I have the 12" drivers with butal surrounds and his look like one of the models with the folded surround? Mine were probably stiffer out of the box. Either way, if you experienced any sensation disconnect between the mids and the bass, they might need more time. Mine are arguably the slightly less articulate, but harder hitting of the various 12" drivers Eric uses and they are still very articulate and coherent. But the first few weeks, I was pretty disappointed and then finally, it was like someone flipped a switch and they just pulled it all together.

    They are maybe a month old. This model is not released yet, I think. I suggested Live Vibe spikes as well as pulling them out from the wall. They were good for $6500 but not in the range of best I've ever heard. Any idea why he does not just use high end midrange drivers over a tweeter array ? I get these speakers. Good value. To me not end game, nor should they be for $6K. Or even $10K at which point the cabinet better be more than a sprayed box. So it seems like a "stepping stone" speaker to me, at this point anyways. I'll go back after these have time on them to listen again. ;-) ...

    @@OCDHIFiGuy The idea behind the tweeter aray is the mass to drive ratio. Eric is a musician. His thinking was, how can a driver with a mass of several grams, let alone tens of grams, reproduce both the fundamental and the harmonics of a drum skin, or a string, each with a couple grams or less of mass? If the tweeters are fast enough to hit 20+ khz, then it can do 300hz to

    @@OCDHIFiGuy Would be good to get your thoughts after going back. Also, adjusting the the speakers (they are pretty close to back wall) could open them up a bit. What would you say is the best you have heard in the $6500 range? These are supposed to hit well above their price point since. And I agree with below that the tweeter array decreases cost since you can use relatively inexpensive components and not have to use some diamond-moon-dust liquid hybrid midrange that drives the price up. The ceramic should be adding an addition sense of clarity and resolution. And by not end game, what do you mean? Is it because of the price point? Or is it because you don't like the sound in some way? Your video is the first showing these so very curious. Thanks for the post!

    I can tell you that you soaking up extraneous reflections through treatment is where you are going to address many of your "smear" issues. A close friend of mine owns Klipsch Forte IV's and his room is not well treated, so the SMEAR is greatly obscurring subtetly. So, my suggestion for the owner of this set is WORK ON YOUR ROOM and play around with placement if you feel you are experiencing smear or any particular weakness in the Moab. Moabs can do just about everything that you would want a speaker to do and they do it amazingly well. If you want to spend a LOT more, then do it. Many people need to spend big chunks of money to make that money feel meaningful. Some of us are delighted to spend a modest sum and discover an amazing product and that is what we have here.

    What I don't like about these rigs is the number of electronics in the signal path especially with digital audio. What happened to less is more, straight wire with gain ideas? My systems are simple. A turntable, a cassette deck, a reel to reel, a cd player, a fat amp and two loudspeakers. To each his own. PS: And a subwoofer!

  • @AmazonasBiotop

    @AmazonasBiotop

    8 ай бұрын

    Not to be disrespectful.❤ But I think like this: When 50% of all the sound we hear is reflected sounds. When it is reflected then it will reach your ears with different delays depending on how many times it has bounced and the room size. In short we will get widely different sound depending on what room we are in and positions.. Something passive like a wire with a gain is maybe good for a power amplifier but not so much for a entire system. Less is more is also out the window IF you want to go to the next level of sound quality. When those two "nice" ideas (that only stroking our brains) do not make your system to adjust or adapt (dynamically) to whatever room you have. And in the process also fix all the components in the signal path if there is "non synergy" issues.. By adding a DSP as a preamp that makes "room and system correction". As I said 50% of the sound is NOT direct sound from the speakers (of course depending on listening distance to the speakers as nearfeald for example..) So then you understand that insertion of a ADDITIONAL component as the DSP will enhance the sound quality much more then any degradation it might have in the signal chain.🎉 If we follow those two principles a system wide "wire with a gain" and "less is more" we effectively painted us into a corner. Then the ONLY thing we can do is if for example a speaker is "bright" then we could select a power amplifier that is less "bright". So we use components as static EQ devices. And it is the most expensive way to do things and also static. A DSP can for example: * correct your system and room * give you your preferd individual frequency response that is changed by time (we don't have some preferencees today as we had a decade ago) * different presets curves that fix bad mixing work on different albums (so more albums will be enjoyable) * you can use it on your TT and the sound improvements gain is vastly larger than the loss that might be of a AD and a DA conversions . * can use it as a rumble filter * can use it to take over the crossover duties in lo level domain * put delay between subwoofers and mains if they are on different distances. * plus so much more that only your imagination is your limits. That is how I see it. Those old saying is originate from old folks in the old days when no DSPs were available and maybe that made sense back then but technology has advanced since then! Now I call them dinosaurs that don't go with the time and hide behind the word "purists". And therefore thinks that they're cool and special when they clearly aren't. 😢😂❤

Its when you play many different instruments at the same time (as well as all of the singers)... that the drivers are pushed to their limits... and will either be able to Clone the Source Image perfectly... OR... they will end up flattening the image, and the instruments and vocals will blend (distort) together, creating a MUDDY type of distortion. Basically, what typically happens, is a loss of Detail, and a Flattening of the intended 3d Image. Companies like BOSE, are famous for SCAMMING people, by playing specifically tuned audio, with only a few instruments, a touch of Reverb, and a lot of slow and airy play... Such as slow Acoustic Guitar playing. Ive had boom box speakers, that can play the same track, and be almost indistinguishable to the blindfolded listener. However, when you play something much more complex, like something from "Earth, Wind, and Fire"... where there are a ton of different instruments, and many vocalists, all at once... the difference between the Boom Box speakers, and my Audiophile grade speakers, is easily Notable... and quite Dramatic.. especially at higher volume levels. Why is this? Because the more complex the waveforms... the more difficult it is for the drivers to reproduce accurately. The smallest of imperfections in the drivers, will thus become very apparent, as the smallest of distortions, will muddy the Intended Image. Its not that different, from people at a normal Job. If they are only required to operate at a leisurely pace... then its easy to be very efficient, high quality, and without any mistakes. However, if you multiply the workload by a factor of 7... Then the worker(s), will be scrambling to try to keep up with the required pace... Will be making tiny flaws / mistakes... losing maximum potential efficiency (such as accidentally running 3ft past the intended workstation). I will also note, that while some speakers can sound pretty decent at lower volume levels... Once they are pushed to mid / high volume levels... the drivers flaws are also multiplied / amplified. The faster the cone accelerates / moves... the harder to stop it, and instantly reverse it. At lower energy levels.. its not as much of an issue... just like a car moving 20 mph, is quite easy to stop almost instantly, when you apply the brakes. However a car moving at 100 mph... is going to be a LOT harder to stop quickly. It will skid many many feet, before it can fully be stopped... due to the difference in Momentum / Energy.

    @@OCDHIFiGuy Sure. But I'm pretty sure we can all tell the difference between the shit ass radio and a real system....at least I would hope so.

    @MrAricaudio123 so the other way to answer him is to say it sounds great with Bob Marley. Which is about the most generic comment I could give. We use certain songs to showcase certain abilities of the system. It's irrelevant if it's boring.

    @@OCDHIFiGuy True. Most older recordings- especially rock and reggae didn't use or have equipment to capture the frequency extremes and a low-fi radio can make up for this because it's essentially a big midrange speaker. In a revealing system you can hear lots of hiss and subsonic junk because they never knew that speakers or other electronics would ever be able to play from 20-20khz. Some modern dynamic stuff is recorded very well however. Slightly Stoopid, Phish, etc. all sound pretty awesome on a high end system.
